It has started!
Over the last days 11 has shown himself to be the more adventurous, flying North to Overwater, West to Dubwath and recently North-West into Howgill Wood. South did not seem to hold much interest for him until yesterday when suddenly, whatever the trigger is that starts migration snapped to ON, and he was OFF. We are only just picking up some of the data but here is where he spent last night. It was in a wood beside a lake at Hunsterson, Cheshire, 4 miles SE of Nantwich. A distance as the crow flies of about 136 miles – not bad for a 13 week old!
This morning he was 1.5 miles South at 9am and another 2 miles at 10am. We do hope that he is able to catch his own fish as only the day before he took his share from Dad in the nest. Meanwhile 12 made the slightly easier trip to Derwent Water and back.

Turned on the webcam layer in Google Maps then zooomed out for a big picture look. Big giant webcam hole in Nevada. What, no one wants to stare at north/south trending mountain ranges that go on and on and on?

I've taken to photographing maps from my computer on my camera or phone, so I have the map on the lcd screen.
(I really want an iphone just for the google maps app)
Lissabon war die erste Etappe unserer kleinen Portugal-Tour. Ein schöner Start in einer sehr interessanten Stadt.
Die nächste Station war Nazaré, ca. 1,5 Stunden nördlich von Lissabon.
Von hieraus ging es dann in den Süden an die Algarve. Aufgrund der zentralen Lage haben wir uns für ein Apartment am Rand von Albufeira entschieden.
Using Google maps and Streetview (the villa's location was pretty rural, so even more impressive that Streetview stretched this far).
Finally, I got captured by the Street View Camera again!

My current neighborhood on google maps satellite. I think it's a few houses off. Our place is really a little farther away from Holland St. on Gorham.

Anyone else notice how Google Maps has been loading the interface with predefined locations? I was thinking about proposing an article about their occasionally vexing decision-making on which locations to include.
(One example: Russ & Daughters was on there, but Katz' Deli wasn't. Which is actually right from a quality perspective, but perplexing from a tourist perspective.)
