Hello Friends!
I have been away for one week of holiday in the beautiful Island of Elba.
One day this seagull landed on the beach, just in front of me and Stefano: he had just one foot and looked very familiar with people. We gave him some organic biscuits with cacao and nuts, and he showed his appreciation by kindly posing for me. Luckily I had my old Lumix with me!
I will spend the next days trying to catch you up: I've been away from Flickr and other things I love for too long now, and I've decided it's time for a change. Life and what makes life better first! I hope my bosses will understand my new philosophy now :D
I wish you all the best, love
Rachele

Goodbye Shad
Students throughout the Washington D.C. region will be helping return American shad to the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers. Since 1996, over 50 schools from Washington D.C., Alexandria, Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties have raised American shad in their schools and released them at sites below Great Falls, at Leesylvania State Park, and in the upper Anacostia River. The fish swim over 12,000 miles in their lifetime, leaving their release site in the Potomac River to swim out to sea and then returning to where they were born to lay their own eggs. hanks in part to these students’ efforts, American shad are returning to the Potomac River in increasing numbers. In addition to raising and releasing shad, students are cleaning up their schoolyards and area streams to improve the waterways for their returning fish.

Phương Tâm Rất cám ơn vợ chồng chị đã chăm sóc và thương yêu bé Billy.
Today, a friend of mine told me that my Billy die 2 weeks ago. He is 8 years old and he is the smartest paw I ever had. Although I know that day would come, and honestly that the part of my heart also die the day I gave him away, I still can't stop cying and missing him so badly :((
I am sorry Billy I never want to give you away. I am so sorry!!!
It's the end of the line for a Skokie institution, Jack's Restaurant. Located at Touhy and Laramie since 1965, it was the place to eat! A one time 24 hour establishment, the served up Olive Burgers, Matzoball Soup among other dishes.
I first went in there in the late 60's with my Cousin Lynn, who always had Olive Burgers, and I followed suit. Whenever she would come back to town, a stop at jack's to have one was always in order.
I'm going to miss the place and the family feeling you got when you went there.
Jack's will be no more at the close of business at 3 PM on Labor Day.
Goodbye Jack's, you will be missed!

Thank you to all my Flickr friends and contacts who have supported me over the last 3 years.
Unfortunately due to the abysmal changes made this week at Flickr and my account subscription being due next week, I have decided to cancel my subscription and I have now moved to 500px. You will still find me under the name of LizzieB2003 and I look forward to seeing some of you there.
My Flickr account will remain open and I will come back occasionally to catch up with some of you but I will no longer be positing stuff here.
I wish all my friends here a great future and hope that you all continue to enjoy your photography.
Love Lizzie x
I am going away on hiatus for a long while...
The city of Seattle is evicting me and 100+ other artists from our community arts buildig, 619 Western. Its a huge mess, and taking up all my free time for the forseeable future. We're working hard to create a replacement community for the artists.
Once I am resettled, and have basically rebuilt my life, I will have time for art and dolls and internet again... Please send me your good thoughts!

... and many thanks to the nice people of Papua New Guinea for such a beautiful show and rhythmic music!
Goodbye Porto. We were headed further north to Barcelos. The birthplace of the famous Portuguese rooster who became a national symbol.

It is true. I have made the decision that I am leaving the wonderful world of flickr. Things are so busy that I don't have time to keep up with it - and so I am removing my images and letting my account expire.
Not to worry - if you want to stay in touch, I would love that! Please feel free to join the fun on facebook and see my latest work before anyone else : www.facebook.com/UncontainedPhotography and of course my website and blog are at : www.uncontainedphotography.com
Thank you all for an incredible experience. You will be missed.

My dearest flickr friends,
The summer finally is ending, so I thought “Why not celebrate the end of summer and the start of autumn with a lovely fashion collection” ; )?
This is “Goodbye Summer”, a cute little fun collection of new boho style pieces and some basics. As always, I try to create fashions that are highly versatile and easy to combine.
The new line is picture intense, so I’d recommend to go to my “Goodbye Summer” album and there you’ll find all new designs. My etsy shop has been updated already!
May your days be sunny and bright and the new season bring us all lots of beautiful memorable moments…
Dearest greetings,
Nina*
This is our last goodbye
I hate to feel the love between us die
But it's over
Just hear this and then I'll go
You gave me more to live for
More than you'll ever know
This is our last embrace
Must I dream and always see your face
Why can't we overcome this wall
Well, maybe it's just because I didn't know you at all
Kiss me, please kiss me
But kiss me out of desire, babe, and not consolation
You know it makes me so angry cause I know that in time
I'll only make you cry, this is our last goodbye
Did you say no, this can't happen to me,
And did you rush to the phone to call
Was there a voice unkind in the back of your mind
Saying maybe you didn't know him at all
You didn't know him at all, oh, you didn't know
Well, the bells out in the church tower chime
Burning clues into this heart of mine
Thinking so hard on her soft eyes and the memories
Offer signs that it's over... it's over
And so its goodbye Mauritius. This picture, taken in the duty free shops of the S. Ramgoolam airport shows a dainty Easter egg decoration placed at the check out till of the shop. Yes, that seedy character you see in the pic is me. Shot by my son using a Kodak HD single use camera. (Mauritius, Mar. 2005) (Loss of colour and quality due to scan from print: photo was taken on 35mm film).

Goodbye Marlon Brando
Music & lyrics by Elton John & Bernie Taupin 1988
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Say goodbye to loneliness, say goodbye to Marlon Brando
Say goodbye to latitudes and the confusion that surrounds you
Say goodbye to misery, say goodbye to the morning news
Say goodbye to prime time and the fools that choose to view
Say goodbye to Wendy, say goodbye to Rhonda
Say goodbye to the Beach Boys from the Palisades to Kona
Say goodbye to Glasnost, say goodbye to Malathion
Say goodbye to the clowns in congress and the belt around Orion
Say goodbye to the tabloids, say goodbye to diet soda
Say goodbye to new age music from the Capa to the Coda
Say goodbye to gridlock, goodbye to Dolly's chest
Goodbye to the ozone layer if there's any of it left
Don't it make you wanna crawl back to the womb
Find a sanitarium rent yourself a room
This overload is edging me further out to sea
I need to put some distance between overkill and me, me
Say goodbye to Jackie Collins, say goodbye to illiterate fools
Goodbye to evangelists and geeks with power tools
Goodbye to statuettes, say goodbye to lists
Say goodbye to articles on who the senator kissed
Say goodbye to hair styles, goodbye to heaven's gate
Goodbye to Rocky Five, Six, Seven and Eight
3 days left.. goodbye :) comeback to VietNam soon... I will miss they so muchh :(

My mom's husband Bill passed away this morning. Here he is preparing dinner for her birthday just over a year ago. He was so silly and never passed up a chance to crack a goofy pun or just to make someone laugh. He leaves behind my mother (his wife of 7 years), his mother, his sister, two daughters, six step-daughters and two step-sons, and 8 grandchildren.
