just a short medley of clips i put together from Mohammad's last day before he left for Palestine, this makes me happy.
Oooooooo ooo ooo ooooh
Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
Did you ever wonder
Why we had to run for shelter
When the promise of a brave new world
Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky
Oooooooo ooo ooooo oooh
Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
The flames are all long gone
But the pain lingers on
Goodbye blue sky
Goodbye blue sky
Goodbye
Goodbye
This morning we said our goodbyes to Marilyn.
It broke my heart.
To come from a place where there was no place for love but room enough for cruelty and to live with us for 10 years learning that humans can be kind, trustful and loving is something I shall never forget.
Marilyn was the 'upstairs cat' for so many years. The 'downstairs' cat came when she began to fail in health.
A nurse to heal us, a knowledgeable soul who knew more than she ever let on.
Marilyn passed peacefully as she should.
No pain.
How can you ever truly thank an animal who has filled your heart with so much love.
Rest now...xxxxxxx
A photo to say goodbye to summer 2013. This is my son and I enjoying one of the water fountains at Legoland California Water Park.
To view in stereo, sit 2-3 feet from the monitor and gently cross your eyes so that the two images become three. The one in the middle will be in 3d. If you are finding this difficult, you may be trying too hard. Viewing the original size is best.
I think it's not fair to let the old year go by
without saying Thank You for all the wonderful motifs and moments,
which it presented to us all
and for the fun we had, viewing them together here on flickr !! Large On Black

This is the photo I sent to FlickrHQ to let them know I was leaving last Spring.
Someone asked about the "daisy photo" the other day, so rather then flip the old photo public, re-uploading
Wishing each of you a wonderful 2011. Without regrets I'm sending 2010 flying off into the past. I'm looking forward to the new year and wishing the very best for everyone!
JPG Magazine's founders have been backstabbed by a supposed friend and partner. I can't support an organization that would do this.
Thousands of others are doing the same...

On Saturday 11th July, Plantsbrook School opened its doors to the public for an event celebrating the school building's rich past and its exciting future, where the school building will be demolished with an all-new school being gradually built in its place. Being a former pupil as well as a photographer/journalist sent to cover the event, I set about diligently capturing as much of the school on camera as possible. It's astounding to think that by 2017, everything in these photographs will be gone...

Vidal Estate Winery, Hawkes Bay - 2015
Established by a Spaniard, Anthony Joseph Vidal, in 1905, Vidal is one of the earliest vineyards to set up in the Hawkes Bay area. In 1979 they opened New Zealands first winery restaurant, and it is really worth a visit!
So, I've decided to leave Flickr. Well, not leave, but just not post here seriously anymore.
2 reasons...
1... Flickr doesn't allow you to link to any external sites and penalizes you for trying to do so by removing your photos from explore, or suspending your account. This hasn't happened to me yet, but to some of my contacts who are more popular (Stephen Oachs, Jim Patterson, etc) it has. I mean, I'm paying a $25 annual fee to have a premium membership. I should be allowed to say whatever I want and link to whatever I want on my pics. None of my contacts have complained about me doing so. So that's reason #1.
Reason #2. I discovered that I can do a lot better as far at promoting myself and getting my name out there on DeviantArt. I've been posting stuff more seriously there and I get WAY more traffic, faves, and comments on my work. Also, its group system is a lot better and allows you to get a lot more exposure. I've seen a 10% rise in my facebook fans since I started posting seriously a few weeks ago. That's WAY more than I ever got with Flickr.
So, I'm done with Flickr. I won't be renewing my premium membership. 1, cuz they're link nazi's and cuz DA is just plain better for exposure for me.
And to top it all off and sock it to Flickr a little more... Here's a bunch of shameless links to the stuff I WILL continue to maintain, and I hope you follow me in those locations. Thanks!

It's been two weeks since I was given the sad news that Royce had passed away. This is the photo that was taken by his owners and I can't imagine a better image to remember him by.
Royce was a fixture of our dog daycare, plopping himself next to our front desk and helping to raise an amazing range of puppies (he was a soft and warm pillow) and helping even more to keep the wild ones in check (he had a very commanding bark).
He would greet me twice a week by shoving his snout between my legs and waiting for his morning scratch. His owners told me that's how he picked them when he was a puppy.
I miss Royce and Ruby as well as the other clients who've passed away over these past 7 years but am proud to have been a part of their lives.

Our Daily Topic - Explored
last sunset of 2007.
somewhere around the west coast of the south island in New Zealand. it was so beautiful that we decided to spend the night in a tent on that beach. no parties, no alcohol, no kiss. just this beautiful sunset. my friend fell asleep before midnight, but i wanted to stay up, to see if there's anything different. there wasn't anything different, of course. but on midnight exactly, the night skies were filled with fireworks from all the towns in the area and even from far away...it was amazing! and when it all disappeared, i laid down and kept looking at the skies - they were filled with stars! and i could even see - at least i thought i did - the milky way. i never saw anything like it, and all i could think of was my family back home. so i took the car and went to the nearest town, found a pay-phone and called home...NZ time is about +10 hours than israel's time, so they were quite excited to realize that i already greeted 2008. it was a special night, better than all the parties that i ever went to on any New Year's eve.
and on this opportunity, i'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year! may this year will be better than the last, and may your New Year's resolutions will be easy to follow :)
i would like to thank you all, my dear Flickr friends and photographers, for taking the time to comment on my photos and for sharing yours.

After saying good by to Rodd, Kelly, Ben, and Zoe at the Edge, and Marci en route down the highway, and then all our far-travelling friends at Pearson, those remaining on the bus had a final farewell on the sidewalk at Union Station in downtown Toronto.
Farewell to 2007 and hello, 2008!
Wishing all of you a joyous, healthy, peaceful and happiest of new years!
