After a long and happy spell working with the Emerging Technology Services team in IBM Hursley, I'm leaving today. Goodbye, everyone.
This is what some of them look like. Roughly. (Dale Lane accidentally didn't get included in the line up - perhaps because he's the newest addition to the team? - but I made a version of him too.)
On Saturday 11th July, Plantsbrook School opened its doors to the public for an event celebrating the school building's rich past and its exciting future, where the school building will be demolished with an all-new school being gradually built in its place. Being a former pupil as well as a photographer/journalist sent to cover the event, I set about diligently capturing as much of the school on camera as possible. It's astounding to think that by 2017, everything in these photographs will be gone...
James Blunt ~ Goodbye My Lover ~
Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won
So I took what's mine by eternal right
Took your soul out into the night
It may be over but it won't stop there
I am here for you if you'd only care
You touched my heart you touched my soul
You changed my life and all my goals
And love is blind and that I knew when
My heart was blinded by you
I've kissed your lips and held your head
Shared our dreams and shared our bed
I know you well, I know your smell
I've been addicted to you
Goodbye my lover
Goodbye my friend
You have been the one
You have been the one for me
I am a dreamer but when I wake
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take
And as you move on, remember me
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile
I've watched you sleeping for a while
I'm the father of your child
I'd spend a lifetime with you
I know your fears and you know mine
We've had our doubts but now we're fine
And I love you, I swear that's true
I cannot live without you
Goodbye my lover
Goodbye my friend
You have been the one
You have been the one for me
And I still hold your hand in mine
In mine when I'm asleep
And I will bear my soul in time
When I'm kneeling at your feet
Goodbye my lover
Goodbye my friend
You have been the one
You have been the one for me
Thinking of you,Kim. It could have been oh,so different....
Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
The flames are all gone, but the pain lingers on.
Goodbye, blue sky

GOODBYE FLICKR
Due to the private e-mails and comments I have received during these days, related to my voluntary closure to the photographic activity in the Flickr platform, I feel an obligation to give an explanation. First of all, allow me to express my sincere thanks for all the innumerable samples of friendship received, even by people I have never met.
I have been thinking about it for a long time and I already blocked the possible comments that Flickr users could write on my pictures. It was the beginning of the announced closure in this platform.
I have felt hurt in some cases and it’s one of the reasons that lead me to do this. But please, don’t misinterpret. I don’t want to offend anyone.
Apart from my family, photography is everything for me. I want to be happy and I don’t want to concern about anything.
Recently photography has given me a lot of joy. Naturdans, for example, has been very well received and I hope it will have a very long development and trajectory. All the greetings and compliments I have received by people with photographic experience and values and also by some people that don’t have it but are great persons, have given me, if possible, more strength in my great passion "photography".
I don’t want to compete with anyone. I have always said there is still a lot I have to learn and I won’t never know everything. Those who think they know everything and pretend to give lessons about it are wrong, so wrong.
There are more reasons, but there is no need to explain them.
Any doubts or explanations about photography, send me an email to: pepaguade@gmail.com and if possible, I will sincerely clarify as I always do.
( I won’t answer anything related to what I have just written)
There is a lot of people of great photographic value in this platform and I am sure you won’t miss me. However if you want, you can follow me in my blog:
pepaguade.blogspot.com/ , Facebook www.facebook.com/pep.aguadetares and others.
Many thanks to all of you for all your comments and all we have shared.

This was taken yesterday morning when my grandson came over to say goodbye, as he and his mummy are off the the States for a few weeks. Sad me. I gave him some bubbles and got out the camera, naturally. But then I gave him lots of kisses goodbye. Just had a text to say they've arrived in West Virginia to stay with his MawMaw and PawPaw. I'll miss them so much!
This image of John Wigston at work was made at the Great Goodbye event at the National Railway Museum, Shildon, North East England. The Great Goodbye was organised as part of a series of events in 2013 and 2014 to mark the 75th anniversary of Mallard setting the speed record of 126 mph (which stands to this day) for a steam locomotive in 1938. Mallard was joined by her five surviving sister locomotives for the exhibition.

Today was my last day of summer vacation which means I am going back to school tomorrow. It's bittersweet to go back to school. I'm looking foward to fall but deff. not looking foward to the winter, rush hour on the trains & especially h.w! My relaxing days are over, welcome stress! :( Regardless I had a great summer and I hope everyone else did too. :)
“Good evening Gotham and Gothamites everywhere, thought id take the time out of my oh so busy schedule to say hi and make a few not so veiled threats. So Hello—goodbye, you’re all going to die. HAHAHAHAHAHA!”
We had to say goodbye to Ivy earlier this week - kidney problems and a rapid loss of weight due to infection were too much for her to overcome. Her loss has hit Colin particularly hard - they were snuggle buddies and she always brought him comfort when he needed it. Ivy was Maddie's favorite, too - she would pause several times per day to look for her to give and receive love. Too young to understand, Maddie still asks Ivy each day.
I say GoodBye to my Aunt Ann she passed on July 9th at 8pm . She was the kindest , warmest person I've known in my life . She treated me like one of her sons and I loved her dearly ! At a time in my life where most my family had writen me off and turned their backs on me , she and my Uncle Ray welcomed me into their home . They gave me 2 rules , Do not steal from them and do not lie to them , I've tried my best to live up to them for 40 years . Good Bye Fine Lady you are loved and will be missed always ! xo
Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I'll miss you
Until we meet again!

September 12th was the day we were celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Cobb Elementary School. Alumni, community members, past and present staff were converging on the Cobb community. Cindy, my wife, was on her way to the Moore Family Winery to help set up for the evening’s festivities. I was gathering some resources to bring along shortly when the phone rang.
I answered the phone. Cindy said, “Dave, I just drove through a fire on both sides of Bottle Rock Road, and I don’t think I’ll be able to go back through!” A quick conversation ensued about the party and how serious the fire might be. Cindy seemed to think it was under control.
I hung up. Heart racing, I checked Facebook and found a recent post from the Lake County Scanner. It read, Hwy 175 and Bottle Rock Road evacuate.
I called my neighbor Tappy Nelson, who also lives on Rainbow Road. When Tappy picked up I asked if she was evacuating. She said, “David, I’m not going to be told I’ve got five minutes to get out of here. We’re loading our vehicles and getting out.” I knew it was time to act. I was grateful that Cindy and I had acted out what we would do in the event of a fire. Having a plan helped me stay organized in my thoughts.
At this point you could see smoke through the dense trees of our neighborhood and smell the smoke. I emptied a sturdy box of melons which were for the Harvest Festival the next day, and dumped them onto the kitchen floor. Carefully removing our files and keeping them in order, I put them into the box. Out of the corner of my eye, I spied our computer and quickly ran a backup before unplugging the external hard drive. I ran outside and grabbed another box from the garage and did the same with the second drawer of files. Marc Morita called me and I told him I couldn’t talk.
Next I pulled all the photos off the wall in the office, bedroom, and living room. My eyes must have looked wild as I felt my pulse race, and I looked all over for the sentimental things. I lost my dad so many years ago and needed a small wooden carved statue of Krishna atop Garuda. He loved handmade furniture and sculptures. I went through the house three times, and finally found it.
Cindy called back, and said she was going to meet me in Hidden Valley because she had to evacuate the winery. I was scared to death and began to cry. I felt so alone and frightened. She helped to calm me down, and suggested I gather some heirloom jewelry from a drawer, and from our daughter Maya’s room.
Entering Maya’s room, I didn’t know what to get. I scanned her toys and belongings. So much acquired over nearly ten years. What was significant? I looked at her loft bed and a large baby blanket was being used to make a fort. I pulled it back and there were her two American Girl dolls. I quickly picked them up and put them in the truck with the jewelry.
I grabbed Maya’s fiddle, my acoustic guitar, and my trumpet which I’d had since the 3rd grade and tossed them in the back of the pickup. I looked above the house. Smoke now filled the sky accompanied by the thunderous explosions of propane tanks. So little time left before I had to go. I didn’t hold out much hope for our home. I ran through the house one more time, and grabbed pictures of my Oma and Cindy’s Grandma from a shelf in the kitchen. Scanning, scanning, and then it was time to go. I said my goodbye to our home and took the picture above, my heart stricken with fear and and just a tinge of hope, and my face mottled red with tears.

Goodbye my friends. Enjoy yourself the coming week (surely I will!) and a special hug for my friends at T-style tonight.
Some final pictures of this before I scrap it for parts...
I love this to bits: first MOC I made when I returned to LEGO.
Now it's time to bid it goodbye.
On the other hand, there's some more VT action happening! Not 1, but 3 are in the works!
That should be something to look forward to... ^_~
Goodbye to my LG G2 which has served me well the past couple years. This has been my main camera for inside store shots, and some on the outside as well. The phone has been having some difficulties as of late, and rarely wants to stay on for any duration of time.
Hopefully my new phone....an LG G4 will lead to better indoor photos from this point forward.
"The Wall" (I know, how original) has been a part of our studio since we moved in there. It's gone through many incarnations, and the work space has seen many residents. But the studio is changing again - for the better - and saying "goodbye" to the wall is part of the change.
MINT SLR670M LAST DAY
I SAID GOODBYE TO MY FAVORITE CAMERA THE SLR670M ON FRIDAY. IT'S NOW JUST A MEMORY OF IT ON A POLAROID PHOTO.
Goodbye, 2024. Dreading the next. Oh, how I wish we did not live in "interesting times."
Scene from a 1950s book of cartoons "Napoleon and Uncle Elby" by Clifford McBride.
It might just be a be a symbolic goodbye but it's a bloody nuisance as life in Britain has been good under the wing of the EU. Well I'm not gong into political debate but I was a remainer and I fear more than anything closer links to the US. But our perception of Europe has certainly changed over the years for once we thought of it as being centred around beautiful Paris whereas today it's a more businesslike Berlin. This very typical photo shows Germany just after it made it's huge change with Reuinification but I doubt if Britain will feel more liberating or opening up the same way.
My final goodbye page to DaisyTrail. Feeling really sad tonight.
