It is time to say goodbye to 2019, to the 2010s.

It has been a crazy year and I think most Hongkongers would agree with me. The police violence we witnessed and experienced in the city the lies from the government were definitely sickening, but the light and hope in the people is a great find indeed.

Aside from what's going on on the city level, 2019 has been special on a personal level too. I finally started my master program in art therapy after so many years of talking. I also continued with my art classes, which surprisingly have been very fruitful and enjoyable. I am getting more comfortable with painting and drawing, although not necessarily getting better. I also learnt that sculpting is not as hard as I thought (using clay), which is nice.

With more time being devoted to my study and art mediums such as clay, drawing and painting, my time taking photos has shrunk indeed. I thought I was being distracted by the amount of gears that I had so I sold some cameras and lenses to try to regain my focus on photography itself. I got a new film scanner in hope to shoot more film (my old scanner, Canon 8800F has served me for 10 years, time to say goodbye). However, I am still quite behind with the development of films and the scanning. This is something that I hope to change in 2020. Well, at least I have been carrying my cameras with me more often in 2019 than the couple of years before.

You don't get to say goodbye to a decade very often. 2010s has been.. I don't know how to describe. There has been a lot of growth but not as much as I would like. There has been many reflection and self-understanding taking place. I grew from a boy who just graduated from uni not knowing anything to become a married man who is starting to realize the importance of planning for future (still not knowing anything). I discovered my passion in 2009 and spent the following decade being in a relationship with it. It has been a very special decade in my short life so far. I will always remember it, not being too happy about it nor being regretful over it with a lot what-if in my head. It is what it is.

2020 is going to be a busy year. I hope I will be able to survive, I hope the city and its brace citizens are going to survive too. Sorry for the utter randomness in this post and how disorganized it is. I wish you all a happy new year and always be joyful in photography. Oh and I hope Flickr won't die.

Photo taken a few days ago in To Kwan Wan, Hong Kong, by my better half.

It sounds like a nightmare but...

Today Terry gone to the rainbow bridge.

He suddenly died, without a reason.

I don't if he had FIV or it was an heart attack.

But now, my baby is not here anymore.

I hope he's ok with his mother, his brother and my other cats, on the rainbow bridge.

See you again, and be good with the others!

Its sad that the summers ending for us students. This is my last summer weekday. D:

Summer never really began for me. Yet its already over.

Anyways, this is one of the beach photos i wanted to upload. There are a few more, though.

I miss this. Not caring about home. Not caring about what the next day would bring. Just relaxing. Just relaxing with you. Not having to worry about getting up in the morning or whats due next Wednesday. None of that mattered.

All that mattered was the now.

was you.

And thats over now. And next summer is so far.

and wont be like this summer.

The summer that never started:/

I'm having a bittersweet moment. More bitter than sweet.

I'm gonna miss this.

and Summer.

Our daughter breaks down as she says goodbye to her best friend Snoopi for the last time. This photo was taken shortly before taking her for cremation. Snoopi passed away unexpectedly the previous day after a surgical procedure at Michigan State University. We brought her there for emergency eye surgery. They initially repaired the eye but it became infected the following day. They determined that the eye had to be removed, and it was following the second surgery that she passed away from respiratory complications.

We are all shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of Snoopi. She was so incredibly sweet and will be painfully missed. I hope that she is now running and playing with her buddy Kirby in heaven as she missed him terribly after he passed away last year. Our home now seems so empty without them...

Taken from us too soon... at 6 months old, only 2 months after she came to us

Feline Infectious Peritonitis - a relatively rare, but always fatal disease, took not only EmmyLou, but also her mother &, to date, 4 of her siblings from the same litter

Her sister Layla, shows no signs of the disease, so far... though it can present at any time in a cat that's infected - even months later, so the odds are against her

It's not been a great year for our animals...

Goodbye to autumn at Yates Flatwoods area in northwest Chicago.

The Morrisons supermarket in Clevedon has closed its doors to the public for the last time today, Sunday 29th November 2015, and these trolleys won't be needed any more, at this store at any rate. When Morrisons announced in September 2015 that it would be closing eleven of its stores, there was little surprise that Clevedon's was on that list.

The supermarket opened circa 1985 as Safeway, at a prime location in the town centre on the site of Clevedon's GWR station. It was Clevedon's first large supermarket (although the branch of Kwik-Save, since demolished, may have pre-dated it) and enjoyed a near-monopoly of one-stop shopping until Tesco arrived on the edge of town in the 1990s. In 2004 the Safeway brand became history; its stores were swallowed up by Yorkshire-based Morrisons and in 2005 the colour scheme of Clevedon's store changed from red to green and yellow accordingly.

Relative newcomer Tesco was soon joined by other supermarkets of varying sizes: Lidl, Co-Op, Budgens, ASDA, Sainsbury's and most recently ALDI. For a town with a population of about 21,000, convenience shopping opportunities had arguably reached saturation point, and so it seemed that sooner or later, something would have to give. The sign above the pedestrian entrance at Morrisions cheerfully proclaims "See you later!", but sadly that won't be happening after today.

I actually hadn't planned to upload these pictures, but decided against it.

This are probably the last pictures I take of Roman in this form, so I thought it might be nice to show him like that for the last time.

I have a complicated relationship with this doll.

For the longest I wanted a Dollshe and he was my first, I waited nearly a year for him and he marks the day I started living with Choco.

I love the Saint mold and have a lot of Saint pictures saved on my computer, yet...somehow Roman and me never really worked out.

I think it's partly because I like the Saint in a lighter skintone and my preferred aesthetic for Saint is the total opposite of how I imagine Roman to look like.

On top of that he's just too stylized for the rest of the group.

I was very frustrated till the Granado Uranus came along, I just hope he will work out.

Will miss the Dollshe Pure body though :(

Roman is already reserved for a very nice person so at least he will go to a good home, I still feel a bit sad though and hope I won't miss him too much.

On another, happier sidenote:

I got my birthday present today!;A;

Roman is wearing the uniform part of the Sadol "Green Beret" outfit set, an outfit I was head over heels for as soon as they showed first teasers.

The uniform AND the battle gear is exactly what I always had in mind for Roman (down to the damn turtleneck and the shitton of bags, and I even had thought about giving him an eyepatch later) so as soon as prices went live I did everything I could to get this outfit home.

On top of that I got another holster+gun (for Schwarz) and finaaaaaally a sniper rifle for Ryanne!;A;

Never thought I would some day be able to easily buy one.

Now crossing my fingers that Roman 2.0 will still be able to wear this outfit, else I cry.

And I finally show off his wig by Kagami Design too!

Sadly he will probably not be able to keep it since it has been custom made for the weird Saint head ;_;

Oh well.

He scaringly reminds me of Big Boss at the end of MGS3 with the outfit, incl. the eyepatch (on the wrong side though).

Definitely not complaining.

Angkor Wat is a temple complex at Angkor, Cambodia, built for the king

Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital

city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have

remained a significant religious centre since its foundation – first Hindu,

dedicated to the god Vishnu, then Buddhist. It is the world's largest

religious building... more

"Of course, I love you,' the flower said to him. 'If you were not aware of it, it was my fault."

Play: The Hardest Part of Letting Go... Sealed With a Kiss

Lyrics:

Your such a pretty face, radiant

I saw you across the room, I knew I had to have you

I started the chase

I knew I would do anything to take your hand and make you mine

But I learnt long ago that if you love someone

You have to let it go

The hardest part of letting go is saying goodbye

You severed away and it makes him sad

Beneath the venomous moonlight

Why unleash my plan to watch you fail

And why I am so afraid?

Go to sleep my love

And taste my sweet revenge upon your lips

Sealed with a kiss

I return to the masquerade bomb

I kneel the most if you're weeping

Storm by stone and you order the wall

Forever left you say cheeping

Go to sleep my love

And taste my sweet revenge upon your lips

Sealed with a kiss

But I've learnt long ago

That if you love someone you have to let it go,

Let it go, let it go

The hardest part of letting go is saying goodbye

Goodbye, let it go...

I got this goodbye present from the team I worked with at ING. Great people, great environment and I loved working there!

The ING Acanthus office is located next to the Johan Cruijff Arena. The Product Owner is the biggest Cruijff- and Ajax fan. I'm a Feyenoord fan from Rotterdam. He talked sh!t about our team, I talked sh!t about his team.

In the end, I got this biography of one of the biggest Feyenoorders ever: Willem van Hanegem. The peanuts? That is the official Blues Brothers team snack.

I won't forget the Springboks, the Leopards and the Blues Brothers.

Part of the "Taken" project. Photo 3/5.

.......we especially love how picturesque this place is!!!
