This kind soul walked into our lives 10 years ago and passed away peacefully Saturday morning. We'll miss his conversation, his loving and paternal nature, his friendship. Our house is much quieter this morning and fewer of us gather by the fire. Goodbye Shadow!

We had to have Ruffy put down the other day. She had a great 14 years and gave us so much pleasure. I miss her so much. She was such a big part of my regular routine, so I'm changing my daily routine as much as I can. I'm still processing it.. will be back when I can better handle the new normal. Or... I may just jump back in (not today) even if I'm not ready. Seeing your pics always puts a smile on my face. Thank you my friends for your kindness and support. xx

Goodbye card for someone special

We now already finish our short walk in Adeje and we will be going to other nice place :)

Adeje is a town and municipality in the southwestern part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. A hundred years before the Spanish conquest (1494), this place was the capital of the Menceyato of Adeje, one of the guanches (local kingdoms) in which the island was divided. It is now one of the most important tourist cities in the Canary Islands. The main street of Adeje has a multitude of little restaurants, cafe’s and bars where you are able to sit outside in the picturesque spreading laurel tree lined street and enjoy your meal or just a leisurely drink and soak up the atmosphere of the quaint town.

Kończymy już nasz krótki spacer po Adeje i udajemy się w kolejne ciekawe miejsce :)

Adeje - miasto i gmina przynależąca do prowincji Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Podstawową działalnością gospodarczą jest tutaj turystyka, przede wszystkim w strefie wybrzeża Adeje (Costa Adeje). Miejscowość z początku nazywana była Adexe w języku Guanczów (oznacza wodopój). Sto lat przed konkwistą, w tym miejscu znajdowało się Królestwo Adeje, dwór króla Guanczów Sunty i jego syna Tinerfy Wielkiego, skąd rządzili zjednoczoną wyspą, aż do momentu, gdy synowie Tinerfy rozdzielili wyspę na dziewięć odrębnych królestw. Adeje było miejscem pochodzenia i głównym siedliskiem kultury Guanczów w tej epoce, jako że to tam znajdowała się siedziba aborygeńskich królów, zwanych Menceyes. Przy głównej ulicy Adeje znajduje się wiele małych restauracji, kawiarni i barów, w których można usiąść na zewnątrz w malowniczej alei wysadzanej drzewami laurowymi i delektować się posiłkiem lub po prostu relaksować się przy drinku i rozkoszować spokojną atmosferą urokliwego miasta.
