The statue of Prince Henry the Navigator (1394-1460) of Portugal anchors the Porto city square adjacent to the Palacio da Bolsa.
I watched a few kayakers and realized they have more gear than all my camera stuff. You would have to be at the beach early before sunrise to get out and fish early.
Spring break means time for traveling! So of course since I've always loved trains, you can guess what method of transportation I'm going to use! All aboard for a little adventure!

Balk, city in Friesland, Netherlands
The history of Balk begins somewhere around the year 1300. The name refers to a bridge over the river Luts, which was actually not much more than a beam at that time. In any case, people settled around this beam, which connected both banks of the Luts. The great period of growth, which makes Balk a beautiful monumental village, was between the fifteenth and eighteenth century with the production of dairy. The butter trade in particular brought about a great economic boost.
The relatively balmy weather we've had this January means that there is no ice on the Mississippi, and thus the eagles are spread out. We saw quite a few of them-- well over 50-- but they all along a number of miles of the river, rather than being concentrated at the locks. They also were able to fish the entire width of the river, which resulted in more distant fishing shots like this one. The 'Eagle Days' event in Clarksville Missouri was packed with people, though.

A trip back to July 2011, when my grown-up daughter and I cycled the Yorkshire Dales Cycle route together.
The route is approx 210km/130m long and climbs ca. 4000m with some very steep bits (too steep for my legs, though not my daughter's!).
This is on our final day (Reeth to Skipton) and having cycled along Coverdale, we are dropping steeply down into Kettlewell (I think that we are, but am happy to be corrected if my memory has failed me!).
