We had been to visit Emsworthy Barn, an abandoned farm since the 1870s situated on Emsworthy Mire.
As we had returned to the car park, I seen these god rays coming from the sky since the early morning fog had lifted.
The morning sun shines through misty, crisp autumn air. The golden autumn is here.
Die Morgensonne scheint durch neblige, frische Herbstluft. Der goldene Herbst ist da.

I've been privileged enough to live only half hour drive from this beautiful place, but I always tell myself, that I need to be more grateful and appreciate it often. I believe everyone has those great places around them that seem average, because they visited them many times. Isn't that true?

you were able to watch how the sunrays stroke through the mist between those trees. Hard to catch with a camera, it looked ways better in real.
Another oldie ;)

Priceless moments before the telephone rings for the first time and the usual everyday stress begins.
Just another forest around my home. And just a normal walk with my dogs.
100% Raw in world shot, no image editing, no AI, no reshading tools, custom self-made poses/expressions without the aid of any HUDs.

I know I haven't taken a single picture in a very very long time. Life handed me a case of the busies and my job pretty much took over, but that was only a little bit of it.
Ok, so now the elephant in the room that made me take a break.
PBR
Do I like it?
Sometimes.
I do like the additional tools given to us. I am certain I can find use for the reflections and additional ways to make light interact with surfaces and probably will have fun with that. Thumbs up to those things. 👍
Now the big part of what made me put things down for a bit, this next bit might be a little critical but PBR broke a lot of what I used to make pictures look nice.
• It made the alpha glitching in things I do 1000x worse.
• It made it so I can't use godrays (aka Volumetric Light Scattering) anymore using the sun as a source. The light you see when it shines between tree branches on a hazy day or the beam you can see when shining a flashlight into fog, pollen, or smoke.
• It made it so I can't use some tools that were extremely useful in Black Dragon such as custom adjustable tone-mapping that I would prefer over the reflective gimmicks PBR allows us. You had absolute control over what the light looked like in an image, live at the tips of your fingers, all that gone.
• At the time of me writing this it seems to have tanked graphical performance for a number of people I know.
Somehow it makes the virtual air feel hollow like there is almost no air there, it has no depth for light itself to go through. It also seems to be better for darker images than ones that look like they were taken in daylight, which I imagine may play a role in the shift I have seen since it came out with pixel photographers on SL overall taking very dark images (which is ok if that is what the photographers want and intend to do) which very distinctly started when PBR was released. Taking daytime images that are colorful yet not a regression in quality seem to be more difficult in my experience.
Of the things I mentioned the things I really want back that PBR broke are the tone-mapping and godrays, but there are a good number of other things that I would have loved to have had in the official viewer that some third party viewers had if they were looking to visually improve Second Life that I would have wanted to see.
I do get the appeal of PBR, and I do like some things about it, but it felt like a trade off, and in some ways an uneven one that works against our benefit.
This was just a quick shot with a lazy attempt at making a quick pose so I could play with what I had been poking at with PBR lighting and sky settings since it came out. Also I've been slowly working on making new sky settings here and there. Sorry for the bit of a rant there, suppose I got a bit wordy.
Maybe in time I will figure out some nice ways to use this PBR thing well enough that I change my mind. Perhaps some of you out there know ways around some of the things I talked about when taking raw shots. Drop me a comment if you have any ideas, suggestions, or just want to tell me your thoughts on this.
Wishing you all smiles and happiness in your day!

Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro to the southeast, sharing a maritime border with Italy. Croatia was part of the former Yugoslavia. A population of 4 million, most of whom are Catholics. Zagreb is the capital. Balanced between the Balkans and Central Europe, this country has been passed between rival kingdoms, empires and republics for thousands of years. If there is an advantage to this ongoing disruption, it is in the rich cultural legacy each has left behind. From Venetian palaces, Napoleonic fortresses, Slavic churches, Viennese mansions to socialist sculptures. But most attraction is the coastline with the remarkable clarity of the water and white pebbly beach. Despite being the fastest rising holiday destination in Europe in the past decade, Croatia still doesn't feel overrun by tourists. There are long sandy and winding beaches too, perfect for lazy days. Croatia is a beautiful country to discover many different landscapes. Sveti Jakov Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Dubrovnik is located in the eastern part of Dubrovnik Town in the tiny bay offering a distant look to the Old Town and the island Lokrum. The Wind Surf sailing yacht was just passing by Lokrum island and sailing along the beautiful Dalmatian coast towards the old town of Dubrovnik.
The Wind Surf sailing yacht was sailing along the Dalmatian coast of Croatia towards Dubrovnik. The Wind Surf yacht is perhaps the most impressive of Windstar’s sailing yachts, and with space for 310 guests, she’s certainly the largest. It's a luxurious yacht who sails from Venice to Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Piran and back to Venice and other routes. Photo taken one kilometer away from the center of Dubrovnik located in an isolated area above the church of St. Jacob.

Despite being the fastest rising holiday destination in Europe in the past decade, Croatia still doesn't feel overrun by tourists. There are long sandy and winding beaches too, perfect for lazy days. Croatia is a beautiful country to discover many different landscapes. Dubrovnik is according to many one of the most beautiful cities on the Adriatic coast. This city in Croatia is also called the Pearl of the Adriatic. The historic center, or rather the completely walled fortress city of Dubrovnik, is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage. This part is still in a remarkably good condition. A wonderful place to discover on foot, it is a city with a diverse, but also rough past. Remarkably, the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, as well as the various monasteries, palaces and fountains have been preserved. They all tell their own story from the Middle Ages.
Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea. The history of the city probably dates back to the 7th century. The old, completely walled fortress town from the thirteenth century is located at the foot of the mountain Srđ. From the immense city walls and towers you can look out over the city and the sea. It's a perfect introduction. Especially at sunset, this is ideal for photographers. Photo taken one kilometer away from the center of the city, located in an isolated area above the church of St. Jacob.

I've uploaded a few shots taken from this location looking towards Loch Lomond, but at the risk of overdoing it this will be the last one. Probably.
The light was changing fast, as light often does, and crepuscular rays were forming then moving then fading then forming again all the time as the clouds drifted and the sun sank. I took quite a few shots of the rays over the loch that night but this one was easily my favourite.
Taken with the trusty 85mm F1.8, - which never fails to impress with its sharpness - while holding the ND grad filter in front of the glass. I really need to get round to buying a 67mm adaptor ring so I can use filters more easily with that lens.
It's not actually a stitched panorama - I just didn't like some of the blown highlights in the clouds and so cropped accordingly.
Update: Apparently this was Flickr's number 2 geotagged image for the UK in 2014, based on a "combination of social and interactive elements, mostly around faves and views." Cool!
