Dedicated to the one and only love of my life. Really looking forward to our short city trip to Edinburgh. I know we will come back with a bunch of great new pics.

The sun peaks out of some storm clouds over Lake Wappapello, creating some awesome God Rays. Looking north just below the dam.

Standing there, was absolutely breathtaking. It looks as if the winter from the left side is about to attack the autumn on the right. And in addition, I got some crepuscular rays too :) What a day!

Trapped at home for the last 5 days by the dreaded uric acid crystals in my foot, I thought I’d inflict another Victorian Angel memorial on the flickrverse.

In some sort of mitigation my meds are distorting my perception of the world, either that or Twitter is.

Well, last weekend was the shortest winter I can recall! After a whole season of a relatively balmy temps, Saturday and Sunday were downright c-c-c-old (-29 Celsius!)

Couldn't figure out why nobody else was on the beach except for me and about 200-300 Canada Geese ;)

i didn't have my camera with me so i used my lousy smartphone camera to capture this fantastic sunset.

...in this moments. They could last forever.

Just some forest around my home.

Looking back on last summer.

Crepuscular Rays or more commonly Sunbeams falling on Llyn Mwyngil otherwise known as Tal-y-llyn (lake) in Gwynedd late on a winters afternoon. It had been a cold and cloudy day on Cadair Idris with the summit rocks and hut covered in frost, but while descending from Mynydd Moel late in the afternoon in light rain and dark skies, sunlight suddenly appeared accompanied by these sunbeams falling the length of the valley westwards.

A little jewel off the side of Hwy 58 in Oregon near Oakridge. I think if I was more patient the may have been even better light and fog. Maybe even godrays!

30/365 - But this shot was taken during the winter :)

Some glorious crepuscular rays at sunset over The Trossachs. A 6 shot aerial panoramic stitich.

Crepuscular rays /krᵻˈpʌskjᵿlər/ (also known as sunbeams, Sun rays or God rays), in atmospheric optics, are rays of sunlight that appear to radiate from the point in the sky where the sun is located. These rays, which stream through gaps in clouds (particularly stratocumulus) or between other objects, are columns of sunlit air separated by darker cloud-shadowed regions. Despite seeming to converge at a point, the rays are in fact near-parallel shafts of sunlight, and their apparent convergence is a perspective effect (similar, for example, to the way that parallel railway lines seem to converge at a point in the distance).

The name comes from their frequent occurrences during twilight hours (those around dawn and dusk), when the contrasts between light and dark are the most obvious. Crepuscular comes from the Latin word "crepusculum", meaning twilight

The rays shooting up as well as down, is not nearly as common. And the patterns change by the second. I was lucky here. Looking out from our deck at Ocho Cascadas next to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We fly home tomorrow so still a bit of time for margaritas and pinacoladas. Our binge of Mexican food comes to an end....but at least it appears we do have a home to return to....major relief.

Linea Messina is the maritime shipping division of Ignazio Messina & C., one of Italy’s most historical shipping lines.

Watching the ship making its way across the Bay of Naples, I captured this beautiful moment as the sun broke through the wintery sky as crepuscular rays.

Yesterdays perfect conditions for a walk through one of my forest. Tamino, Dexter and I walked about 8 miles through snow, leaves, blackberries and over normal ways.

Haytor Rock is a popular tourist destination in Devon's beautiful Dartmoor and is one of the easiest places to find with an abundance of car parks and there is a tourist centre a couple hundred yards down the road from the closest car park to this landmark.

A really short walk yesterday. On our way to a client we´re suprised by this really beautiful light. So we had to take a short stop.

Today we´re on a short trip to the "Frillensee". The coldest lake in Germany. The main reason for this is that the dogs have fun in the snow.

Wishing you all a great weekend!

The sunset over the Apuan Alps in Verrucole (Tuscany). It was actually a very dull day, the sky was just a big gray wall of clouds (I'll post a photo of the view tomorrow) except for few, brief moments like this when the Sun was literally firing beams of light on the mountains through gaps in the clouds.

A few days ago the luck was with me. Mist & Sun, even my slightly sickness couldn´t hold me back. It was the same day as the drone shot before (more to come).

Today, I'm focusing on "the styles". My inspiration for this image is Ralph Lentjes, @ralphlentjes. I attempted to replicate one of his pictures without using his prompt, so I wrote my own, hopefully with good results. I panned right to include the mountains (replaced "Lady on the beach" against "mountain"), did some upscaling, and minimal post-processing in Photoshop. The intriguing part of this is that I have added my own styles to this exact prompt. These images will be presented separately. This is Style raw.

The forest was shrouded in thick clouds, the trees obscured in a cloak of gray. But then, as if by magic, a ray of sunshine broke through the clouds, piercing the tree canopy and casting a warm, golden light onto the forest floor. The air was filled with the scent of damp earth and leaves, and the sounds of rustling branches and chirping birds. The sunstar, bright and unmistakable, shone like a beacon of hope and possibility, inviting the world to bask in its radiance. The forest came alive, illuminated by the sun's rays and enlivened by the sudden burst of light. And then, as quickly as it had come, the sun disappeared behind the clouds once more, leaving the forest bathed in a dim, diffused light. But the memory of the sunstar lingered, a reminder of the beauty and power of the sun, and of the wonders that can still be found even on the cloudiest of days.

Shot during a walk with my dog, the rays are real :)

Was pretty grey everywhere except this break in the clouds in one part of the sky

That´s why I love this time so much. Can´t wait to reenter the forests in the next couple of days.

Wishing everyone a great weekend! Tomorrow I will hit the bavarian alps.

Fitting in that just past those scraggly pine trees is our 22' lighted cross, that but for the growth, can be seen all over the Lompoc Valley from it's 400 foot elevation above town at the south edge of H Street.

It was built in 1912 to commemorate the destruction of the first Mission Concepcion Purisima de Maria Santisima. It was destroyed on December 8, 1812 in a huge 7.1 earthquake -- we still pass that split in the ravine going home every day.
