I don't seem to do 'nature' much, do I? Maybe because there is an endless amount of incredibly talented landscape/nature photographers out there. I don't want to shoot poor initiations. Still, I occasionally take a photograph of a natural scene that sticks out to me.
Leaving the site, we walked past this little pond lined by two trees. The moonlight and nearby security light shone through the gaps in the leaves. It was a very calming scene following a short but adrenaline-fuelled visit to the ruin.
Clouds brought me to the coast and the calla lilies kept me there. My first post here in a long time as I've only been doing Instagram. Blessings to all you Flickr friends!!
Climbing ever higher in the sky, soon the Sun will be shrouded by the blanket of clouds moving in from the west. For me, the journey continues down the path and with some time and a little luck maybe me and my old friend will see each other again. - Bradley Point Park

Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe. It borders Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro to the southeast, sharing a maritime border with Italy. Croatia was part of the former Yugoslavia. A population of 4 million, most of whom are Catholics. Zagreb is the capital. Balanced between the Balkans and Central Europe, this country has been passed between rival kingdoms, empires and republics for thousands of years. If there is an advantage to this ongoing disruption, it is in the rich cultural legacy each has left behind. From Venetian palaces, Napoleonic fortresses, Slavic churches, Viennese mansions to socialist sculptures. But most attraction is the coastline with the remarkable clarity of the water and white pebbly beach. Despite being the fastest rising holiday destination in Europe in the past decade, Croatia still doesn't feel overrun by tourists. There are long sandy and winding beaches too, perfect for lazy days. Croatia is a beautiful country to discover many different landscapes. Korčula is a dense island with mostly dense forest, mainly holm oaks, pines and all kinds of scrub. The coast consists of bays, caves and clear water. A place for more lingering around and enjoying the slow pace of life.
Korčula is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea and lies just off the Dalmatian coast. The island harboring a glorious old town is certainly worth a visit. The historical center is very picturesque. The island is also known as the birth island of the famous explorer Marco Polo; however, this has not been proven. At that time the island belonged to the city of Venice, where he might have been born. The fact is that many inhabitants on this island bear the surname Polo. Photo taken from the Cathedral of Saint Mark in the centre of Korčula.

Thank God for beautiful moments that help soothe a grieving mama's heart. The pain and heartache is never far from me, and I miss Lindsey incredibly much. In the midst of the sorrow I am blessed, and can even smile and laugh and say Life Is Good.

"The sun sliced through the trees, sealing me in light.
I closed my eyes and felt the warmth on my eyelids.
Sunlight traveled a long distance to reach this planet;
an infinitesimal portion of that sunlight was enough to warm my eyelids.
I was moved."
— Haruki Murakami
I went here 3 nights in a row trying to get a good sky for this image. This was my gift on Christmas Eve.
I was driving on US Hwy 84 and was basically chasing the edge of a storm which started to produce a wonderful array of light scenarios. I saw everything from rainbows to lightning to these crepuscular rays.
I didn't think much of this picture when I took it and it was one of the last ones that I processed from the entire shoot. In hindsight I wish I had bracketed the exposure to get better detail in the highlights. I also wish I had done a timelapse of the rays moving across the landscape. Oh well...
That day was a very nice morning over the Catbells and Borrowdale. As we were walking down, the sun shafts were focused on the farms below, I liked the way it brought out the pastures and sheep dotted around.
I wanted to bring out the light shafts/godrays, but I still don't know how people do it in postprocessing, I just do guesswork, in this case I just increased contrast and decreased midtones.
The London to Edinburgh flight path, combined with a break in the clouds and the lucky timing of the sun setting in just the right spot all came together to provide this marvelous view. Im only glad I had my camera out and was ready to shoot. Protip: Always have your camera out and be ready to shoot!!

One of the trees I visit from time to time, to catch him in different conditions. I think this time it was perfect and not to beat (for myself).

Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea. The history of the city probably dates back to the 7th century. The city is completely surrounded by defensive walls and fortresses, including the old port. The walls are uninterrupted about 2 km long and reach a maximum height of about 25 meters. They were built throughout history at a time when there was a danger of foreign attacks on the city and the Dubrovnik Republic. Its history goes back to the Middle Ages. The best time to visit the Walls of Dubrovnik is early in the morning or later in the afternoon close to closing hours since there are no crowds and you can really enjoy it. The narrow streets, alleys and walls of the historic city of Dubrovnik are filled with the daily lives and laundry of its inhabitants.

First part of a series from my hike yesterday. As the sun broke through the cloud I was able to witness some unforgettable moments.

Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. The Sponza Palace, also called Divona, is a 16th-century palac in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Its name is derived from the Latin word "spongia", the spot where rainwater was collected. The rectangular building with an inner courtyard was built in a mixed Gothic and Renaissance style in 1516. The palace has served a variety of public functions, including as a customs office and bonded warehouse, mint, armory, treasury, bank and school. The palace is now home to the city archives, which hold documents dating back to the 12th century, with the earliest manuscript being from 1022.

For my 600th upload here to Flickr I wanted something that I really liked. So this HDR of clouds, sunrays and the front yard of a home with this gorgeous view was my choice! Some people have all the luck ... I know I certainly had it when I came upon this awesome sky!
I took this the first few minutes I got to the coast near Florence the first time visiting from Bend. I think I got lucky with the conditions. I like the s-curves pulling your eye to the center and then revealing the sunrays in the distance.
We had been to visit Emsworthy Barn, an abandoned farm since the 1870s situated on Emsworthy Mire.
As we had returned to the car park, I seen these god rays coming from the sky since the early morning fog had lifted.
