The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (Catalan pronunciation: [muˈzɛw nəsiuˈnaɫ ˈdard də kətəˈɫuɲə], English: "National Art Museum of Catalonia"), abbreviated as MNAC, is the national museum of Catalan visual art located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Situated on Montjuïc hill at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, near Pl Espanya. The museum is especially notable for its outstanding collection of romanesque church paintings, and for Catalan art and design from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including modernisme and noucentisme. The Museum is housed in the Palau Nacional, a huge, Italian-style building dating to 1929. The Palau Nacional, which has housed the Museu d'Art de Catalunya since 1934, was declared a national museum in 1990 under the Museums Law passed by the Catalan Government. That same year, a thorough renovation process was launched to refurbish the site, based on plans drawn up by the architects Gae Aulenti and Enric Steegmann, who were later joined in the undertaking by Josep Benedito. The Oval Hall was reopened in 1992 on the occasion of the Olympic Games, and the various collections were installed and opened over the period from 1995 (when the Romanesque Art section was reopened) to 2004. The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (Museu Nacional) was officially inaugurated on 16 December 2004.

El Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña (en catalán: Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya), también conocido por sus siglas MNAC, está situado en la ciudad de Barcelona, (España). Destaca por su colección de arte Románico, considerada una de las más completas del mundo. Su director es Josep Serra i Villalba.
El actual museo se constituyó en 1990 con la unión de las colecciones del Museo de Arte Moderno, creado en 1945, y el Museo de Arte de Cataluña, inaugurado en 1934. A las piezas procedentes de estos museos se les añadieron una nueva sección de numismática, otra de grabados así como los fondos de la Biblioteca General de Historia del Arte. Más tarde, en 1996, se añadió un nuevo departamento dedicado a la fotografía. En 2006 el fondo del museo poseía ya casi 250.000 obras en las diferentes colecciones. Además de las exposiciones temporales y de las itinerantes, el museo realiza también otras funciones como son las de estudio, conservación y restauración de obras de arte.
El MNAC es un consorcio constituido por la Generalidad de Cataluña, el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona y, desde principios de 2005, la Administración General del Estado. En el patronato del museo están representadas, además de las administraciones públicas, los particulares y las entidades privadas que colaboran con el museo.
La sede principal se encuentra ubicada en el Palacio Nacional, edificio situado en la montaña de Montjuïc, inaugurado en 1929 con motivo de la Exposición Internacional celebrada en la Ciudad Condal. Además, otras tres instituciones forman parte del conjunto del museo: la Biblioteca Museo Víctor Balaguer de Villanueva y la Geltrú; el Museo Comarcal de la Garrotxa en Olot; y el Museo Cau Ferrat de Sitges.

A Ribeira é um dos locais mais antigos e típicos da cidade Porto, em Portugal.
Localizada na freguesia de São Nicolau, junto ao Rio Douro, faz parte do Centro Histórico do Porto, Património Mundial da UNESCO. É, actualmente, uma zona muito frequentada por turistas e local de concentração de bares e restaurantes.
Na Ribeira merecem destaque a Praça da Ribeira, popularmente também conhecida por praça do cubo; a Rua da Fonte Taurina, uma das mais antigas da cidade; o Muro dos Bacalhoeiros e a Casa do Infante, onde se crê que tenha nascido o Infante D. Henrique, em 1394. Foi nesta zona do Porto que viveu uma das figuras mais carismáticas da cidade, o chamado Duque da Ribeira, conhecido por ter salvo várias pessoas de morrer afogadas.

Ribeira è il quartiere più caratteristico di Porto, terza città del Portogallo per numero di abitanti e secondo porto del paese.
Il quartiere è stato dichiarato dall'UNESCO, patrimonio dell'umanità per le sue caratteristiche che lo rendono unico nel suo genere. Esso è costituito da un dedalo di strade strettissime che si arrampicano sulla collina che strapiomba ripida sulla riva del fiume Douro che poco più avanti sfocia nell'Oceano Atlantico.
La pavimentazione a ciottoli e le strade in ripida ascesa rendono assai difficile camminare per queste strette ed ombrose strade. Le sue abitazioni dipinte in colori pastello e massimamente di bianco, risalenti a diversi secoli addietro, creano un'atmosfera quasi irreale viste dalla opposta riva del Douro nella città gemella di Vila Nova de Gaia. Sulle rive del fiume sono attraccate le imbarcazioni caratteristiche, barcos rabelos in portoghese, attrezzate per il trasporto del famoso vino Porto. Queste barche, il cui disegno risale a diversi secoli fa, hanno delle botti sulla coperta per il trasporto del vino dalle cantine di produzione ai magazzini situati proprio nella città di Vila Nova de Gaia.
Il fiume Douro viene attraversato dal ponte in ferro a due piani Don Luigi I, realizzato su progetto di Gustave Eiffel, famoso progettista dell'omonima torre parigina e della Statua della Libertà, sita all'ingresso del porto di New York. La sera il quartiere si anima per il notevole numero di ristoranti e bar che si allineano sul lungofiume e le luci delle case e dei monumenti illuminati creano un'atmosfera da presepe.
In questo quartiere sembra che, nel 1394, sia nato Enrico il Navigatore, figlio del Re Giovanni I e di Filippa di Lancaster.

La Catedral-Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragoza es un importante templo barroco de España. Según la tradición, se trata del primer templo mariano de la Cristiandad, puesto que en él se conserva y venera el pilar —en realidad, una columna de jaspe— que fue puesto por la Virgen María quien, viviendo aún en Jerusalén, se habría aparecido en carne mortal al apóstol Santiago el día 2 de enero del año 40. Documentalmente no hay pruebas de lo consignado en la tradición, cuyos pormenores datan de 1297 —en una bula del papa Bonifacio VIII— y 1299 —una declaración de los Jurados de Zaragoza—, donde por primera vez se atestigua la advocación del «Santa María del Pilar», tras emprender en 1293 el obispo Hugo de Mataplana una rehabilitación del edificio que amenazaba ruina, gracias a las donaciones propiciadas por la mencionada bula papal.
La historia documentada del templo se remonta al siglo IX, cuando según la Historia del traslado de San Vicente de Aimoino, se atestigua la existencia de una iglesia mozárabe en Saraqusta dedicada a Santa María en el mismo lugar en el que actualmente se encuentra la basílica barroca. En torno a este templo se articulaba una de las comunidades de cristianos de la ciudad.
Arquitectónicamente, el templo se articula en tres naves, de igual altura, cubiertas con bóvedas de cañón, en las que se intercalan cúpulas y bóvedas de plato, que descansan sobre robustos pilares. El exterior es de ladrillo, siguiendo la tradición de construcción en ladrillo aragonesa, y el interior revocado en estuco. La nave central se halla dividida por la presencia del altar mayor bajo la cúpula central. El altar está presidido por el gran retablo mayor de la Asunción, perteneciente a la Iglesia anterior, realizado por el escultor Damián Forment en el siglo XVI, siguiendo los modelos impuestos del retablo gótico de la vecina catedral zaragozana del Salvador (La Seo). Bajo las otras dos cúpulas elípticas de la nave central, se dispuso la Santa Capilla de la Virgen del Pilar, y el coro y órgano, que también procedían de la iglesia gótica predecesora. Actualmente se encuentran desplazados al tramo de los pies del templo, para dotar de mayor espacio a los fieles que ocupan la nave desde el altar mayor. El Pilar ostenta el rango de catedral desde la Bula de Unión de 1676, compartiendo desde entonces la sede del arzobispo de Zaragoza con la vecina catedral del Salvador -La Seo-. En 1948, el Papa Pío XII le concedió el título de Basílica. Es además desde 2007, uno de los 12 Tesoros de España.

The Basilica–Cathedral of Our Lady of the Pillar (Spanish: Catedral-Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar) is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain. The Basilica venerates Blessed Virgin Mary, under her title Our Lady of the Pillar praised as Mother of the Hispanic Peoples by Pope John Paul II. It is reputed to be the first church dedicated to Mary in history.
Local traditions take the history of this basilica to the dawn of Christianity in Spain attributing to an apparition to Saint James the Great, the apostle who is believed by tradition to have brought Christianity to the country. This is the only reported apparition of Mary to have occurred before her supposed Assumption.
Many of the kings of Spain, many other foreign rulers and saints have paid their devotion before this statue of Mary. Saint John of the Cross, Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, and Blessed William Joseph Chaminade are among the most outstanding ones. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is one of two minor basilicas in the city of Zaragoza, and is co-cathedral of the city alongside the nearby La Seo Cathedral. The architecture is of Baroque style, and the present building was predominantly built between 1681 and 1872.

Habitat: Coastal waters of tropical and temperate oceans worldwide, including coastal waters of Japan, Brazil and Argentina.
Fun Fact: This species is semibenthic, which means the jellies spend time on the ocean floor. They also cluster on kelp—sort of like hats on a rack.
