Turns out that I'm just a glutton for punishment, so you guessed it - I'm partaking in ANOTHER project 365. Another year of taking a photo every day and uploading it to Flickr.
This is my trusty old D90, fitted with a 50mm lens. Today was a day for photo-sorting. Kirsty stayed over last night after the New Year's celebrations and so in the morning, we took a frail step outside and went for a walk around Burrator Reservoir to take some long exposures and came back to arrange photos and start up all our new projects for the year! Very excited :)

Being a glutton for punishment, I decided to sneak outside to take some pictures of Dark World Thor, a movie that apparently most people hated, whereas I loved. i'm guessing it had something to do with the story line?
Anyway, Thor arrived to me during a period of transition between hobbies, and I guess I just never got around to taking any decent photos of the figure whatsoever.
Being an older figure, clearly the sculpt shows signs of age, although to be fair, it was still in use until Roadworn Thor, give or take a few blonde highlights. As always, the likeness is there.. ish, but always is off the mark in some shape or form. In this case, I feel its the shape of the lower jaw, giant forehead, and the shallowness of the cheeks that are mainly responsible for throwing off the accuracy. Oh, that and the fact Thor is a Brunette here.
Detailing on the outfit is superb as always, but doesn't allow the poor guy to do any real posing, particularly with regards to its upper body, which isn't really done any favours by the arms, which as you may recall came in two flaours of rubber - unarmoured or battle ready.
Mjolnir is die cast, and as a result causes further posing restrictions due to weight of the thing, but at least it looks pretty.
Overall, he looks badass in a museum pose with his hammer in hand

I usually hate buffets, because I end up piling lots of food on my plate. Haha, but I like how this shot turned out -- the lighting was absolutely perfect at Nikko. I couldn't decide which rice to get so I got both yellow and white XD
I love seafood! ^^
The TEDxUWLaCrosse Salon Series, presented Glutton for Punishment: The Environmental Costs of Western Diets at the UW-La Crosse Institute for Campus Excellence, Murphy Library, on Tuesday, March 8, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. The event opened with a presentation and group discussion facilitated by Dr. Adam Driscoll, assistant professor - Department of Sociology.
At a TEDx salon, attendees watch TED Talks, listen to speakers, and have discussions about the talks they witnessed. Salons re-engage the audience in the presentation model through the critical element of lively discussions, allowing attendees to actively participate in the event and shape the conversation.
Dr. Driscoll summarizes his presentation, “This salon explored the nature of the global food system and how current agricultural and food industry practices are unsustainable in both an ecological and a distributive sense.” The salon also included TED videos by Tristram Stuart and Dan Barber. Driscoll continues, “Themes we explored included the amount of food being wasted by our current system, the ecological footprint associated with Western diets, issues of food justice, and problems with agricultural illiteracy. We finished with a discussion of possible alternative models to the current food system that exist at both the local and global levels. We discussed how we as individuals can help foster environmentally sustainable food systems that provide healthy, affordable food for all”
