To kill time before hotel check-in in Yountville, we stopped by the little shopping center, V Marketplace. We passed a little corridor next to the building with its doors open, and I saw this when I peaked in. Naturally, I took a picture.
Globe Tech JC, of New York, bested Widener's JV, 20-17, with the help of four former Bok stars. And their Bok coaches were on hand to watch. L to R -- Antoine Whitney, Vittorio Goggins, coach Frank "Roscoe" Natale, Jihad Ward, Marcus Owens and assistant Rob Schloss.
The name of the pub is still on a board around the back (visible from Evelyn St). It's now a betting shop and a church.

I bought this Globe from an auction as I fell in love with it! It spins perfectly on it's wooden base and I found out that it was painted from the outside through the hole at the bottom with a curved brush!!!

"Shakespeare's" Globe. Or rather a reconstruction of it, the remains of the original are under a nearby tower block.
The Babson World Globe, originally dedicated in 1955, refurbished and rededicated on October 2, 1993. It was for many years the largest rotating globe in the world and the second-largest one ever built (28 feet in diameter, weighing 25 tons).
The orginal Babson Globe was constructed of panels with enameled surface for the land & water details. The panels eventually began rusting off. When the globe was rebuilt, DeLorme provided vinyl (much lighter) panels for the visual details.
This globe stands in front of Coleman Hall which once housed the Great Relief Map - a 65-foot plaster of Paris model of the lower 48 states which accurately matched the curvature of the earth3-D. The map was removed in 1998 to allow for the conversion of the building into residences for students.

Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse in the London Borough of Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames that was originally built in 1599, destroyed by fire in 1613, rebuilt in 1614, and then demolished in 1644. The modern reconstruction is an academic approximation based on available evidence of the 1599 and 1614 buildings. It was founded by the actor and director Sam Wanamaker and built about 230 metres (750 ft) from the site of the original theatre and opened to the public in 1997, with a production of Henry V. The site also includes the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, an indoor theatre which opened in January 2014. This is a smaller, candle-lit space based on the indoor playhouses of Jacobean London. [ Wikipedia]

We went and saw "A midsummer night's dream" performed at the restored Globe theatre. It was really fun - the actors did a great job of bringing in the audience, and in showing what a funny play it is. In this picture, you see Oberon, Titania, Puck (in turqoise) and Helena.
