This globe is sitting on a table next to a lamp which is the main light source, but there was another overhead light in the room so I adjusted the levels in photoshop to get the blacks/shadows richer.

While walking on the bridge, high above the exhibitionfloor, I was on eyelevel with the globe.
In most cases people travel the globe. In this case, people travel in/with the globe. This is a picture of part of the world's largest snow globe (it's two-storeys high) and one of it's inhabitants. It is at Feb Fest here in Kingston promoting Ontario tourism. Yup, that's trusty City Hall in the background.

The grey bubble is oil from fingers - it weakens the glass and makes it swell.
Although this is a movie light, if you've got halogen lamps in your house, this will happen to those globes, too.
