SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Given the nickname 'Ruadh' / 'Roy' because of his wild red hair. His Clan were both Protestant and Jacobite. At 18 he took part in the battle of Killiecrankie where Jacobites under the command of Viscount Dundee opposed the replacement of their Stuart King with William of Orange.

Like many Highlanders bordering the Lowlands he then became involved in protection for payment of 'blackmail'. His mother and wife were both Campbells so when the name Macgregor became banned he used the name Campbell.

Given the bad weather, I settled for the tidal pool reflection. So I scurried around searching for the perfect tidal pool. Some were too small, others too far away. I just couldn't settle on anything. Then my 7 year old son called me over to him to show me some baby fish he found, and sure enough he had found it all along :)

Given the success of this image, I would say the investment in the Nikkor 14-24mm lens is justified, really awesome glass.

Red Male Cardinal, starving from a winter Freeze below zero, looks eagerly in the Holy Family Garden at food given to him. In his other pictures, he looks right at me, and also has a seed in his precious mouth. He also brought his mate which I have pictures here as well.

Lake Mattamuskeet, NC - Given how incredible the sunrise was on this particular morning, I never really considered this image for black and white processing. I frankly did not think that b&w would do justice to my memory of that day - one of the most amazing sunrises I have ever witnessed. I have to admit that I think that I was wrong. While the black and white processing loses the vibrant purple, red and orange hues, it gains a very interesting dreamlike quality in my opinion. The processing also seems to emphasize very different spectrum's of light and different areas of the image than the color image. Let me know if you like it as well.

Given that it was the Friday before Father's Day made me harken back to the days when my Dad would often marvel at the Lehigh Valley, their strong stable of ALCO and GE power and the wonderful color scheme they had. Fast forward to today, where the NS has provided us a very true rendition of what this "Fallen Flag" would look like in the present day. This one's for Dad, Happy Father's Day...I know you were with us on the chase and enjoyed the view of this Cornell Red beauty every bit as much as we did! "Keeping a Light On"

When I thought of this theme I immediately thought of how people used to keep a candle burning for people who were away, especially soldiers. I thought of that idea, but wanted to also portray others who had not waited, who had given up on whatever it was they were waiting for and moved on.

Excerpt from insidehalton.com:

A White Oak tree in Burlington that is at least 300 years old has been given a heritage designation by the province.

The city-owned, 30-metre (100-foot) high tree has a circumference of nearly 500 centimetres (16.7 ft.) and is quite likely one of the oldest and largest Quercus alba specimens in Canada, according to the Burlington Historical Society.

Located at Allview Avenue, a short street on the north shore of Burlington Bay, the White Oak was part of an historic boundary line for nearly 250 years.

Before 1957, it also marked the starting point of the border between Burlington and Aldershot.

According to the historical society’s website, “In 1789, the Allview White Oak was a surveyor’s benchmark for a treaty arranging the purchase from the Mississauga First Nation, for the British Crown, of a block of land that soon afterwards became the 3,450-acre parcel of land known as Brant’s Block.

Supported by City Forester Rick Lipsitt, the Burlington Horticultural Society and the Burlington Historical Society nominated the tree for the Ontario Heritage Tree Program’s heritage designation.

A brief ceremony celebrating the heritage tree and commemorating it with a plaque was scheduled for today (October 21, 2011) at its Allview Avenue location.

A relatively new program, the Ontario Heritage Tree Program helps identify and record the location of heritage trees in the province, which are assessed by age, size, appearance and cultural and historical significance.

According to the program’s website, “The identification of these trees will enable Trees Ontario and community-minded organizations to locate potential native seed sources of legacy trees. Collecting these seeds will ensure native stock is grown and available for future planting.”

Given I'm more of a run and gun photographer (don't have the patience) - I did give myself a few moments to properly plan this composition - looking at foreground, midground, background - with an implied movement of objects from the rocks, to the building, to the lighthouse in the background.

In the mid-1920s, a series of unfortunate events befell the town of Boynton. Plans for a new hotel were abandoned by Addison Mizner and his brother Wilson who eventually built the Cloister Inn in Boca Raton. in 1925, citrus canker was discovered in the town’s orange groves which led to their destruction. The town also began to suffer from severe financial problems resulting in the bank refusing to honor checks signed by the City Clerk and salaries for municipal staff being cut by up to 50%. The Florida Land Boom was beginning to wane at this time and two hurricanes in 1926 and 1928, caused extensive damage which added to the town’s problems. As the Depression hit, Boynton’s financial problems continued to mount and, in 1929, the Bank of Boynton failed.

Concerned residents from the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway were worried about the debt and informed the town they wished to separate from Boynton and start a new municipality. When bond holders began to press for payment on nearly $1 million of indebtedness, Boynton and the eastside residents reached an agreement whereby, upon assumption of half of the debt, a new municipality would be established on the east side of the waterway. The agreement was finalized in on April 17, 1931 with the formation of Boynton on the west side of the canal, and Boynton Beach on the east. In 1939, the Town of Boynton Beach changed its name to Ocean Ridge and, within two years, the Town of Boynton changed its name to the Town of Boynton Beach.

Before a bridge was built over the East Coast Canal (now the Intracoastal Waterway), crossings were made by means of a hand-operated lighter (barge) located at Ocean Avenue. Once on board, passengers would haul on a chain to pull the lighter to the other side.

The first bridge was built over the canal at Ocean Avenue in 1911. The wooden swing bridge was operated by a crank in the center section, pushed by the bridge-tender walking in a circle until it swung open. In 1924, the bridge-tenders were Wilbur and Jessie Forrey. Jessie would crank the bridge while Wilbur lowered a chain across the canal and collected the toll.

Construction of a new bridge began in 1935. The bridge was constructed from steel and was operated with a Scherzer rolling lift bascule, which was an unusual movable span found in only two other bridges in Florida. The span was designed by William Scherzer of Chicago and built by the Nashville Bridge Company. As the bridge was financed with Depression era relief funds given by the Federal Government, the design of the bridge was very plain3. The bridge was 121 feet long, 31 feet wide and carried two narrow lanes of traffic with sidewalks on each side.

In 1970, project development started for the construction of a new bridge at Boynton Beach Boulevard; however, a property owner who would have been impacted by the bridge relocation filed suit and the resulting arbitration ruled in his favor. The project was put on hold for several years and then two proposals were studied. The first was to relocate the new bridge to Boynton Beach Boulevard and the second was to replace the bridge on Ocean Avenue. In 1994, the permit for the Boynton Beach Boulevard bridge was rejected which left the Ocean Avenue proposal as the only option,

Construction of the new bridge started in November 1998 and the project was completed in March, 2001.

I'd just about given up, when I noticed how much spray was on my lens, so I headed back for one last shot, and was rewarded by the sun peeping through the clouds for a brief moment.

I like the shot, but think some of the highlights are a little blown out, I wonder if a polarizing filter may have helped, but It was such a miserable day I hadn't expected the sun to appear at all.

Recently given the nostalgic looks of the bygone ICF Shatabdi livery along with those striking thunderbolts and red band on the sides, AJJ WAP-4 with road number 22726, gleaming in the early morning sunshine, negotiates a small curve as it hurtles towards Makalidurga at around 75kmph pulling the Mysore bound Basava express from Bagalkot.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. Some more T55 given to me recently by a very generous friend who doesn't use film anymore. Half the top of this tree came down in the storm we had this summer. The lower portion reminded me of a Sally Mann photo...so I gave it a try inspired by her.

Given a blank canvas would you ever come up with this colour scheme??????

Given the time and location this was most likely taken with a Pentax *istDS with Pentax 18-55 lens.

Seoul, South Korea

Taken from, what was, Kiveton Colliery pit tip and now Kiveton Community Woodland, a nature reserve. I don't know why, but it makes me feel proud.

The name "Wuhlgarten Area" derives from a hospital opened in 1893 as the "Wuhlgarten Institution for Epileptics near Biesdorf" with a capacity of 1,000 beds. The owner, the city of Berlin, deliberately chose a psychiatric hospital that was at that time located far outside the Berlin city limits and had a railway connection to Berlin.Following the medical insights, especially those of Wilhelm Griesinger (1817-1868), that in addition to treatment, work therapy and recreational opportunities in parks and on agricultural land could contribute to the recovery of the sick, a spacious development was realised here in the Wuhletal area. The spaciousness, the natural landscape conditions and the limitation by the railway line led to the fact that the area received neither a wall nor fences. The development in loose villa form (pavilion style) was designed in the neo-Renaissance style and was oriented towards the recommendations valid at the time to provide not only separate accommodation for women and men but also workshops, agricultural facilities with farmland and animal husbandry as well as a self-sufficient supply system (drinking water with water tower, sewage, energy supply, heating with its own boiler house).

After the initial construction from 1890 to 1893, extensions were built until 1905, mainly for the medical sector. Finally, there were 44 individual buildings on the site, including five larger multi-wing buildings with the centrally located administration building. From 1946, following severe war damage, the hospital was able to gradually resume operations to care for the mentally ill. From 1961, it was then called the "Wuhlgarten Municipal Hospital for Psychiatry and Neurology". Finally, in 1968, it was given the name Wilhelm Griesinger Hospital on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the co-founder of modern, scientifically orientated psychiatry, until the facility was closed in 1992. The Hopsital Church, destroyed in the Second World War, was rebuilt between 1994 and 1997 on the basis of the old plans. In the mid-1990s, one of the most modern accident hospitals in Germany was built on the site, which also uses some of the historic buildings. Some of the villa-like pavilions were also sold to private individuals and are used as single-family homes. Others serve health facilities, and the former administration building was converted into a school.

Given Empire was our main target I timed the aerial assault so CN would be loading. Well, on our first pass the second half of the empty train was there but no power. As we moved on to Eagle Mills I saw the light power going under a haul road just north of Empire so it was easy pickings on our return attempt. Here the train (U741) loads at Empire's Super Pocket (the original unused loading pockets are off to the right)

I was given this as a present about 20 years ago when working in Pakistan and each time I decide to make something out of it I look at the back and decide I like the back too much to cover it up.

The original palace was given to Edward II in 1305 by the Bishop of Durham, Anthony Bek, and used as a royal residence from the 14th to the 16th century. Edward IV built the Great Hall in the 1470s, and this is the only sustantial part of the medieval palace that remains today.

In 1933, Stephen Courtauld and his wife Virginia "Ginie" Courtauld (née Peirano) acquired the lease of the palace site and restored the Great Hall (adding a minstrels' gallery to it) while building an elaborate home, internally in the Art Deco style.

This picture was taken from Pandan Indah flyover, Kuala Lumpur. I'm fed up with the never ending traffic jammed. However, God has given me a wonderful sighting. Luckily I bring my camera all the time... this is my second time I captured a wonderful sighting from Pandan Indah flyover after the sign of Allah appearing from clouds on 22/11/08.....

I have given, I have given and got none

Still, I'm driven by something I can't explain

It's not a cross, it is a choice

I cannot help but hear his voice

I only wish that I could listen without shame

Let it rain

Let it rain on me

Let it rain, oh, let it rain

Let it rain on me

I have been a witness to the perfect crime

I wipe the grin off of my face to hide the blame

It isn't worth the tears you cry

To have a perfect alibi

Now I'm beaten at the hands of my own game

Given the choice, I wouldn't have worn irridescent tights. You gotta suffer for your art.

I missed that goose, but I got a handful of grass.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

"As a result of the connection of the Principality of Hildesheim to the new Kingdom of Hanover, the former Derneburg Monastery was given to Count Ernst zu Münster by the King of England and Hanover in 1814. Together with his master builder Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves, the count designed an English landscape garden around the castle, the delightful remains of which attract many visitors to Derneburg today.

In 1839, the year Count Ernst zu Münster died, Laves was commissioned to design a worthy tomb for the Lords of Derneburg. Now the classicist architect should finally have the opportunity to realize an idea that recurs in his designs: the steep Egyptian pyramid. The massive, geometrically symmetrical design language of Egyptian architecture was gladly adopted by classicism. As a student, Laves had to copy drawings of Egyptian buildings and sculptures meticulously. He was certainly familiar with Piranesi's etchings from ancient Rome and thus also those of the 12th BC Cestius pyramid, which may have served as a model for him. The Derneburg pyramid is a little more than 11 meters high and its slope angle is 61 degrees. The door, bearing the Münster coat of arms, is surrounded by a double-wound Egyptian round bar, and an Egyptian groove with double-rowed leaf tips decorates the entrance. Despite all the worship of the Egyptian cult of the dead, the mausoleum remained recognizable as a Christian burial place by a large cross above the entrance. On the stone door there was originally a grave inscription attributed to the Freemasons: “The progression to perfection is eternal, although the trace disappears from the eye on the grave”.

Count Ernst zu Münster, his wife and their daughters are kept in sarcophagi in the pyramid. To the side of the pyramid lies his son, Prince Georg Herbert Münster zu Derneburg, his eldest daughter Marie, "the faithful daughter of her father" (funerary inscription) and a daughter of Count Ernst zu Münster. The following generations of the zu Munster family rest in the tombs in front of the pyramid: Alexander Fürst zu Munster, Georg Herbert's second son, his wife Muriel and their son Friedrich Graf zu Münster, who is still popularly known today as Graf Fredi. The Celtic high cross on the tomb of Princess Muriel indicates her origins in Scotland."

I rarely get political but given the state of affairs over in Europe (again) I thought I'd just show some support for Ukraine. Europe already started two world wars. I do not want them to start another one.

The United States has done a lot of stupid, stupid, stupid things over the last 200 years or so, but what Russia is doing in March of 2022 is one of the dumbest things I've seen in my lifetime. What does Putin and his goons expect to gain from this?

I grew up as a kid in the 1970s and was taught to be afraid of the Soviet Union and communism, and I feared the government, not the people.

I have lived through the US invading other countries for no logical reason, I've seen the US overthrow democratically elected presidents, elect an orange buffoon, and many, many, many other things I wish hadn't happened.

The US isn't perfect but at least I feel relatively safe here. Even so close to Baltimore. I can't imagine what the average Ukrainian citizen is living through right now.

This isn't my photo (I dug it up on google) but I will share it and state loud and clear FUCK PUTIN AND FUCK THE RUSSIAN MILITARY.

if you support Russia, please kindly unfollow me and rethink your life.

Given that these were taken in July, and the temperature had been 25 to 30 degrees, I think this should be considered summer rather than spring. My Lathyrus has produced lots of flowers as usual, but I think the combination of heat and lack of water (in spite of us watering) has made the flowers rather shortlived.
