I stopped by Wright-Locke Farm today to give the goats some old bananas, given to me by a convenience store. We had a snowstorm last night, dropping six inches or so.

Chapter 3: Redī to~u ranburu
(Ready to Rumble!)
The Wandarāzu have made the journey to Gōzā no Masutā’s Teitaku no ie. Rokudenashi tells Gōzā no Masutā that he must take his Gōzā and leave this land of Kūki and never return. Gōzā no Masutā laughs at these Wandarāzu “who are you to tell me to leave this place that I have made my own?”.
The command to attack is given to the Gōzās, and they lunge towards the Wandarāzu. The battle of Kūki has began. Shiroi ōkami meets one of Gōzās with help of Nikku Yemana holds him at bay. Hikaru Sulu is left to fend off the other Gōzā himself.
Gōzā no Masutā Has set his eyes on our hero, He has pushed Rokudenashi onto the bridge, where with a downward swing from his mighty Katana, he has delivered the fatal blown on Gōzā no Masutā. With their master defeated the Gōzās Flee Kūki never to be seen again.

Alsatian (AKA Rokudenashi)
Warrington Bridge is the name given to several historical bridges crossing the River Mersey in the town of Warrington, England. The current structure is the sixth to stand in this location and was constructed in 1909-1915 by Alfred Thorne & Sons. For centuries Warrington Bridge provided the lowest crossing of the Mersey and thus was of strategic and commercial importance. It is located to the south of the present town centre and linked to it by Bridge Street.
The first recorded reference to Warrington Bridge is in 1285. It was the site of two battles during the English Civil War in 1648 and in 1651. The bridge features in in Walter Scott’s novel Peveril of the Peak (ch 20) set in 1670s where it is described as having been built by Lord Derby.

This bird has given me trouble the past couple of years. I have had difficulty even locating one let alone getting a good photo. This year has been a whole different story. Not only have I had one practically jump in my lap out my back door, but I have located others at the local parks and they have given me very good looks. Eastern Towhee, 05-01-2022, Bradley Woods Reservation Metro Park, Westlake, OH.
Given to me around January 2025 and still growing strong and beautifully.

I was asked by two friends to take photographs of their wedding during lockdown.
I was given a free creative brief, which I really enjoyed.
I saw the bride showing some friends her wedding ring whilst she was resting her hand on her bouquet and quickly seized the moment.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

SN/NC: Russelia equisetiformis, Plantaginaceae Family
It is commonly known as fountainbush, firecracker plant, coral plant, coral fountain, coralblow and fountain plant, is a weeping subshrub in the Plantaginaceae family.
The plant is native to Mexico and Guatemala. Most common color is coral, red, but also rarely we find in the color white, very beautiful. It is said to have also one yellow. But I have never seen it.
The name Russelia honors the Scottish naturalist Alexander Russell (1715-1768), given to the genus by the Dutch scientist Baron Nikolaus von Jacquin (1727-1817). The species name reference to this plants resemblance to horse tail rushes, and the Latin term equisetiformis means "like Equisetum".
Russelia equisetiformis (russelia): planta pendente, com ramos longos que despontam da primavera ao outono e podem ter coloração vermelha, amarela ou branca. No paisagismo, costuma ser empregada em renques ou maciços sobre pequenos morros e declives. Também é apropriada para vasos, floreiras e cestas suspensas. Deve ser cultivada sob sol pleno ou meia-sombra, em solo fértil, bem drenável, rico em húmus e irrigado regularmente. Não tolera estiagens prolongadas. A cor mais comum da russelia é a vermelha ou coral. Mas também existe a branca, muito mais difícil de encontrar e a amarela, raríssima. Quando misturadas ambas cores, é um lindo espetáculo da mãe natureza. As 3 juntas jamais vi.

Cider-apple Rust tends to show up wherever Eastern Red Cedars and Crabapple or Apple trees are in the same area. My experience of the phenomenon has been limited to Prince Edward County. The appearance of the brown galls, whose finger-like tentacles grow from thin brown strings to orange appendages after the rain, is pretty common in the spring.
What is more interesting is the amazing life-cycle of the fungus. In effect, it alternates growing years between Apple/Crabapple trees and Eastern Red Cedars. In any given year, of course, there will be trees of each kind infected. But this Cedar gall in the image is generating spores from the orange fingers that will travel to and infect the apple trees. That infection shows up next spring as orange spots and even liquid on the apple leaves; that in turn has spores to reinfect cedars next summer for galls the following spring.

We were given some black cocktail tomatoes by a neighbour. We decided to harvest the seeds for growing the following season. Disappointed with the flavour and texture so we tend to use them to add colour to a salad.Our main crop of tomatoes are a large red that are from tomatoes given to us by a friend. Here again we save seeds from the fruit each year snd have had several years of a consistant supply of plants grown from these seeds. Apart from the ones we use in salads or sandwiches the bulk go into making passata that we store frozen for use in making pasta dishes over the year.

These are the big chicks, getting ready to fledge. I've been watching them for a few days, but they've either been flapping on cloudy days or sitting in the nest like bumps on a log on sunny days. I finally got them flapping on a sunny morning even if with the distance away, the partly cloudy sky behind, and the shady nest, the photos aren't the best. This may have been my best chance given that they'll leave soon and cloudy conditions are coming up do to frequent thunderstorms. Great Blue Herons, Siskiyou County, California

Dartford Warbler, in the heather on Dunwich Heath, Suffolk.
As a young boy I was given a bird book and I can remember looking at all the beautiful birds, but a few really stood out to me at that young age, this was one of them. I can remember looking on the road map (before Google!!!!) to see where Dartford was and thinking........ one day, when I can drive !!! (little did I know then, that they don't come from Dartford LOL) After nearly 60 years I saw my first a few days ago.
No one reading this will ever know how I felt inside........ or maybe some of you do?

Sometimes, and always out os standard times of cruises, I want to sail fast. This boat allows to set up max. 30 mps, which should correspond to 60 knots. So far I have tried cca 32 knots, which is comparable with averge speed of my flying.
Unique paint of boat was given to me by one girl as a gift, because we spent some time together sailing, hunting each otcher, avoiding collisions in the latest time and such.
She refused any kind of payment or renumeration saying that if it pleased me, that it was enough for her.
I havent met such behavior on dry land, but such things are quite common on the sea.
Widespread Holarctic breeder, here at the southern limit of its breeding range. The dark, forest-bordered lake has given strong contrasts in the bright sunlight and the image required deliberate underexposure.

Sol LeWitt was one of the main figures of his time; he transformed the process of art-making by questioning the fundamental relationship between an idea, the subjectivity of the artist, and the artwork a given idea might produce. While many artists were challenging modern conceptions of originality, authorship, and artistic genius in the 1960s, LeWitt denied that approaches such as Minimalism, Conceptualism, and Process Art were merely technical or illustrative of philosophy.
In his Paragraphs on Conceptual Art, LeWitt asserted that Conceptual art was neither mathematical nor intellectual but intuitive, given that the complexity inherent to transforming an idea into a work of art was fraught with contingencies.
LeWitt's art is not about the singular hand of the artist; it is the idea behind each work that surpasses the work itself. In the early 21st century, LeWitt's work, especially the wall drawings, has been critically acclaimed for its economic perspicacity.
Though modest—most exist as simple instructions on a sheet of paper—the drawings can be made again and again and again, anywhere in the world, without the artist needing to be involved in their production.

Sol LeWitt was seminal in establishing the notion of ‘conceptual art’ during the 1960s. Wall Drawing #1136 Curved and straight color bands 2004 is one of a number of highly coloured wall pieces he made. It includes seven vibrant colours to create an overwhelming chromatic environment that envelopes the viewer. The curve, snakes along the wall. Every band in the wall drawing is of the same width and there is no area left empty of colour.

We spent 3 days in Huangyao…which has been turned into a preserved ancient village by the government.
While we were there many Chinese woman came to be photographed. None of them were professional models… They would first go to a shop to get made up in their tribe’s original formal outfit. Then they are given a brief intro on how to pose…
They would find wonderful backgrounds and encourage anyone with a camera to take their picture. Obviously, I overdosed over the 3 days and took many pictures of them. Here is one example…
Tyneside structures. Newcastle housing, looking up to the 'Byker Wall, a name sometimes given to the whole of the estate, but which really applies only to the high rise blocks seen at the top. The 620 maisonettes that form the actual wall were built with little view to the north, where it was intended that a motorway would be built on that side (it wasn't), but with extensive views across the Tyne to Gateshead and County Durham. The wall would also provide a sound barrier for the larger numbers of low rise dwellings at lower levels.
The Byker estate was built between 1969 and 1982, but the nearer blocks are all of later date. Most of the development is in the area known as Walker, which extends along the river bank, with steep connecting roads. The steepness of the roads led to a local saying, 'you can bike from Byker to Walker, but you have to walk from Walker to Byker'.
Mountain Samdain Kangsang (6590 meters), is the second highest peak of the Nyenchen Tanglha range. It is seen here in sunset from Shachi Penninsula, Nam Tso Lake.
The Nyenchen Tanglha range continuous snow mountains accompanied with the blue sky seems very solemn. The famous Samdain Kangsang Snow Mountain is just one of them. Being one of the twenty-five highest mountains of Tibet, it's given the religious character.
Wake up call given out by this Knot (Calidris canutus) as I edged closer...this meant that half the flock of birds I was watching scooted over to the next rock pool island. There is always one keeping a beady eye on you! :))

The knot is a dumpy, short-legged, stocky wading bird. In winter, It is grey above and white below; in summer the chest, belly and face are brick-red. In flight, it shows a pale rump and a faint wing-stripe. It forms huge flocks in winter which wheel and turn in flight, flashing their pale underwings as they twist and turn. Many knots use UK estuaries as feeding grounds, both on migration and in winter, and therefore the population is vulnerable to any changes such as barrages, sea-level rises and human disturbance. Large numbers of birds visit the UK in winter from their Arctic breeding grounds.

Budai is a nickname given to the ancient Chinese monk Qici who is often identified with and venerated as Maitreya Buddha in Chan Buddhism. With the spread of Chan Buddhism, he also came to be venerated in Vietnam, Korea, and Japan. He is said to have lived around the 10th century CE in the Wuyue kingdom.
The name "Budai" literally means "cloth sack", and refers to the bag he is usually depicted carrying as he wanders aimlessly. His jolly nature, humorous personality, and eccentric lifestyle distinguish him from most Buddhist masters or figures. He is almost always shown smiling or laughing, hence his nickname in Chinese, the "Laughing Buddha". As Budai is traditionally depicted as overweight and having a huge stomach (possibly a symbol of abundance or forgiveness) and many stories surrounding Budai involve his love of food and drink, he is also referred to as the "Fat Buddha", especially in the Western world.

Got given a day off work yesterday and thought the rainforest might be a great place to hangout, get a bit of exercise, chill out and take a few photos. A couple of tourists tried to spoil the peace by flying their drone, unfortunately the drone crashed into the trees above me then into the river, karma. I had a little chuckle on the inside : )
Stories of exploration make for fascinating reading and they impress on the mind that exploration is a joint venture even though often the name of a single person is attached to a given account. Alfred Russell Wallace (1823-1913), the great English naturalist and traveller, has a sharp eye for others than himself in his exploits. A good example is a wonderful sentence from his "The Malay Archipelago" (1869):
'It was on the 13th of June, 1856, after a twenty days' passage from Singapore in the "Kembang Djepon" (Rose of Japan), a schooner belonging to a Chinese merchant, manned by a Javanese crew, and commanded by an English captain, that we cast anchor in the dangerous roadstead of Bileling on the north side of the island of Bali.'
In the book, Wallace gives a marvellous description of the geography, the natural world and the great variety of human culture of the Malaysian and Indonesian islands. But he is not only a describer; he also theorises about what he sees. On the basis of his observations he put forward the theory of the Wallace Line. This is an imaginary boundary running through the Lombok Strait (between the islands of Bali and Lombok) which separates the zoogeographical areas of Asia from Australia. Although the Strait is rather narrow - only about 22 miles across - it is extremely deep and was a barrier that in theory kept the flora and fauna of Asia divided from those of the Australian region.
This idea has today basically been abandoned. But the fact of the difference between the various species of plants and animals of those continental areas helped Charles Darwin conceptualise his theory of the origin of species.
This photo shows a plantation of palm trees, a thatched beach hut, and the Blue Waters leading to the Lombok Strait. My back is to magnificent Mount Rinjani, and from this spot in clear weather you can see to the East the outlines of Bali's Mount Agung.
'Leaving Bileling,' writes Russell a few pages on, 'a pleasant sail of two days brought us to ... the island of Lombock...' And he continues: 'We enjoyed superb views of the twin volcanoes of Bali and Lombock, each about eight thousand feet high, which form magnificent objects at sunrise and sunset, when they rise out of the mists and clouds that surround their bases, glowing with the rich and changing tints of these the most charming moments in a tropical day'.
With this book on my knee, a gin-and-tonic at hand, and this view: what more could one wish to enjoy!

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

This shot isn't anything special given that its just a light unit sitting in the shade. But the location is just so cool that I used my wide angle to just capture the whole scene. This lone YN2 AC4400CW is the local power for Selkirk based B765, the Hudson Grain train here on the old Boston and Albany Hudson and Chatham branch now known as CSXT's Claverack Industrial Track.
In addition to the famous two blocks of street running the train also amazingly cuts right through the middle of the town square park. Sharp eyes will note the Hannukah Menorah lit up for the season, and of course just out of frame at left is a Christmas tree too. The crew had paused for a while by the old depot (and soon to be brewery) then pulled across the crossing and stopped right here in the center of town for another break. The conductor kept the locomotive company while the engineer walked to grab a coffee then chatted it up with a local lady and her dog and even loaded a baby up on the engine for some photos. It was all quite amusing and charming in a strange old fashioned railroading kind of way....I suppose it is that whole juxtaposition of time and place contrasting with the norm of modern railroading that makes this job so appealing to watch. I don't know...forgive my rambled musings...this place is just simply too cool to resist, and it continuely calls me back!

Been away a bit.
Baffled how it happened but the Monday after Christmas began coughing. Started as a tickle. Then turned croup like. Was able to get to urgent care that Thursday and a rapid test was positive for covid.
Because of my recent cancers I qualified for the myoclonal antibody treatment. Felt remarkably better for a bit.
But this sure has been a roller coaster.
I feel so bad for the unvaccinated. If I've been this awful after three Pfizers, I can't imagine surviving without having been vaxxed.
I had been given Prednisone for the croup/bronchial inflammation which I didn't start taking until I lost the sense of smell. Surprisingly the sense came back after two days.
A week after I showed symptoms, Kim showed, but hers were very different. She had severe nausea and headache. She hasn't had the respiratory involvement, but her test this past week was also positive. She's on the recovery roller coaster too.
Sometimes we feel some better, then it all hits again.
Been using our large gym ball to lie over. Way back at the beginning of the pandemic a bunch of us who had been Physical Therapists had talked about the importance of lying prone and the importance of postural drainage, which we used to do for patients in the hospital before Respiratory Therapy took it over.
Lying on one's chest on the ball supports the diaphragm and makes coughing more comfortable. Pushing forward to get the head low and butt high will help get secretions moving and excreted. Plus rolling on the ball is very good for the back.
I suppose my involvement here at Flickr will be a bit spotty for awhile yet. Hope everyone stays well.
This has been baffling. We've been masked whenever we've left the house. Kim goes to work but since she showed symptoms after me, I'm the likely one to have given it to her. In the week before showing symptoms I'd been once to the grocery store. And I've always double masked. I've always brought along my alcohol spray bottle to spray down the shopping carts.
One thing we haven't kept up is the wiping down of the grocery items before bringing them into the house. And we haven't been wiping down the Amazon packages that get delivered. But that method of transference has always been very low on the list. Being unmasked in a closed space has always been the chief method of transmission.
Go figure.
