This is a young ghost crab, no larger than maybe two centimetres!
I spotted it on a night walk along the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia with my family and three dogs.
I used my two extension tubes that I luckily brought to get this magnification and had to get really close.
Those blue eyes are simply incredible, don't you think?

Captain of HMS ARDO blasphemed so horribly that his ship and he were doomed. Ship has been turned into phantom ship and captain has been condemned to stay alone behind ship’s wheel and to wander through SL seas forever.
Moreover, it is said that if some ship meets this ghost ship, her fate and the fate of her crew are sealed.

Doel is a small ghost town next to the ever expanding port of Antwerp.
Since 1999 the villagers are being expropriated, and most of them left. Anarchist squatters and Roma families have taken their places, since then living illegally in the abandoned houses. Kids are playing outside (instead of going to school), dogs look for food amongst the garbage, and the household stuff is often thrown on the streets. Yet, a couple of pubs are still serving their customers, the police is driving around, and the government is promising a quick solution for the 100 or so illegal Roma gypsies...

I seldom can capture planes in flight with much detail when they are very high up and traveling fast. This little propeller plane was low enough for me to get a mediocre image out of it, so I started playing with some textures for effect. I liked the moon, but it still wasn't quite what I wanted. That's when I thought of putting the uncropped image over the cropped one, and got this pair of planes, with one looking somewhat like a ghost plane! It was rather fun, even if not the best image out there, so I might try similar effects in the future with crisper images and see how they turn out.
The reason I wanted the moon in it was because years ago my brother and I went for a night flight in a plane that was a lot like this one, with a friend who was going for his pilot's license. When we left the runway, it was daytime, but we continued flying north until the sun set and the moon came up. It was really quite a sight to see! It was a lot like flying in a VW Bug! There were windows in the one we were in, and a backseat, which was where I was. the full moon that night was spectacular from up in the sky like that, and we flew right over the ocean.
The pilot, Bill, turned south to head home, and began flying over A-1-A, the beachside highway that runs pretty much the length of the state, with breaks here and there. When he did so, he cut the engine! Let me tell you, I know it's part of their training, but there's nothing quite as scary as being up in the sky in a little tin can, and suddenly the engine cuts out! that little thing that sounded like a lawn mower is a comforting sound, lol! He told us not to worry, since he had lined up the highway below just in case the engine wouldn't come back on, and would just glide down and land if necessary! I was quite relieved when the noisy little motor started back up!
I will never forget our night flight in the little plane under a full moon! (No ghosts, though!)

I went to the beach tonight for no other reason than to visit ghosts from the past. There was a strong, warm breeze and the beach was full of dogs playing in the surf. It was a perfect evening for remembering.
The Chattaroi Railroad is one of the many ghost railroads of Kentucky.
Completed in 1883, the almost 50 mile Chattaroi hauled coal and timber out of the hollows along the Big Sandy River and its many creeks along a tortuous route to Louisa, Kentucky.
The C&O, assuming control of the line in 1892, had big plans. Knowing this region had mineral riches beyond compare, they built a new line from Louisa to Richardson, the present day main line of CSX.
This small section of track that remained in daily service until 1939, when the local mines were worked out.
