My hand is a bit sore today. I have found I have a couple of good days and then a couple of bad days to bring me down to earth LOL. I am still trying to take it easy, but it is so boring. Thanks to Brian @ Bury St Edmunds (UK) I now have an ID - "Peruvian Lily".

Arundel, West Sussex is a beautiful place to wander around. We have been here a few times (also stayed there) and although the weather during our last visit was overcast and misty I still took some nice photos.

As you know, my 50D died the day before we left South Africa, so I decided to upgrade with a second hand 7D. It is a new learning curve, especially as the manual was all in Japanese LOL, but I have worked out a few things. I have ordered a new book and waiting for it to arrive. I will get a quote for repairs to my 50D, but as I have seen them go on Ebay for around $380, I am not sure I am willing to pay too much for repairs.

People have been asking me how my hands survived the trip - the splint was a real help with the pain. In fact the pain seems worse now that I am home and back to doing the mundane chores that I was free of during the trip. I am booked in to see the surgeon again on the 11th September.

We stopped at one of the rest camps in Kruger to buy a drink and as we walked up to the kiosk, this baboon came down and took off with a drink. I followed around to the back of the kiosk to watch it open the drink forcefully and proceed to drink it LOL.

Some more photos from Wednesday - way too hot to go out in the garden today - up to 42C in some parts of Sydney

After saying that I was disappointed not to see any zebra during our stay at the camp, on the last game drive before leaving for Capetown, I saw two lots - one a mother and baby.

The week that we stayed in Bewdley, Worcestershire, was the Bewdley Festival week. The day we wandered around the town the Morris dancers were in full swing.

One of our day trips from Bewdley in Worcestershire was a visit to Llangollen in Wales. What an interesting place!! We stopped for lunch in a cafe overlooking the River Dee where we watched the river running swiftly past as we ate our delicious food. After lunch we walked up the hill to see the horse drawn canal boats - very interesting.

Today the temperatures have dropped by around 20C and this is how I would like it to be all Summer.

We dropped my grandson at the airport for the flight home to Hervey Bay. I think he found it a bit boring hanging around with Nan & Pop, but we had some of his cousins over a couple of nights and he stayed over with a friend and cousins for a few nights, so I think he had a good time catching up with everyone.

I have been playing around with PhotoMania on facebood and found this effect in the Artistic section. I really like it, I must say.

Some people find Warthogs quite ugly, but I rather like them warts and all.

When we were staying in the house at Marloth Park, the animals roamed freely around the houses. It was not unusual to wake in the morning and find animals in the garden.

I took this photo yesterday in my neighbour's garden and when I was in Photoshop, I hit auto tone and this is what happened. The second photo is the original sooc. As blue and yellow are my favourite colours, I really like the first photo.

These are some more photos from our visit to the Sydney Aquarium during the school holidays. It was difficult to take these photos as there were so many people around the tank looking at these beautiful animals.

When we were driving around Kruger we came across this Giant Ground Hornbill - what a prehistoric looking bird.

Another rainy day photo from my garden - I used auto contrast in Photoshop which gave this bright effect which I like better than the original.

My hand is still very sore today, not sure what is going on. The GP said that the scars look healthy and are healing well - it is probably just part of the healing process. I go back to see the surgeon next week.

When we were staying in Ludham, Norfolk, we took the paddlesteamer from Horning along the River Bure. It was a lovely trip with beautiful scenery and lots of lovely homes (I hate to imagine what they would cost). Most of them had boat garages where they could just cruise along the river and put the boat in safely on their return.

Sorry for so many photos, but it was hard to choose out of the hundred or so that I took LOL.

Evening market in the streets of Istanbul

This is my entry for this week's 52 weeks of photos challenge.

Week 14, 52 week challenge: hot

These are some more photos of the Teddy Bear bees that fly around my neighbour's garden. I have been making the most of my visits before the new people move in. The bees will disappear soon as the weather is now getting cooler and Winter will soon be here.

When we were staying in Bexhill, East Sussex, Pat (larigan here on Flickr) took me for a drive around the area and we called in at Slidon to see the Pumpkin Festival. I never realised how many different varieties of pumpkins that there are. It was a cold, wet day and we had pumpkin soup for lunch - yummy it was too.

When we were staying in Capetown we drove to the waterfront for a look. We spent the afternoon wandering around and just before we left, I saw the wheel surrounded by pink clouds - I love the light in these photos.

Grevillea are the most amazing looking plants - these are growing in our garden at the moment, but these are some photos taken a while back.

Something a little different for today. We have this magpie who visits us numerous times a day for meat to feed it's young.

Today it landed on the lavender plant, so I grabbed the camera and snapped off a few photos.
