These are some more photos from the Bewdley Festival in October. Amanda (craftedfromtheheart) thought that they were only men dancers, but there were a few women as well.

I have decided to join Nina on her challenge to add a flower photo a day for 365 days.

The Blue Banded Bees were going crazy in my neighbour's garden yesterday.
I have been sitting here going through my photos from our three month holiday in 2011 and I came across this beautiful owl that we saw at the markets in Ludlow. It was also there when we visited in 2009, so I would say that the lady who runs the stall owns the owl.
As you know, my 50D died the day before we left South Africa, so I decided to upgrade with a second hand 7D. It is a new learning curve, especially as the manual was all in Japanese LOL, but I have worked out a few things. I have ordered a new book and waiting for it to arrive. I will get a quote for repairs to my 50D, but as I have seen them go on Ebay for around $380, I am not sure I am willing to pay too much for repairs.
People have been asking me how my hands survived the trip - the splint was a real help with the pain. In fact the pain seems worse now that I am home and back to doing the mundane chores that I was free of during the trip. I am booked in to see the surgeon again on the 11th September.
The second city site of ancient Taxila, presently known as Sirkap. It was was once a thriving ancient metropolis, complete with streets, houses, shops and places of worship. Sirkap flourished under various regimes, from the Greeks to the Scythians, Parthians and finally the Kashanas.

When we were staying in Capetown we drove to the waterfront for a look. We spent the afternoon wandering around and just before we left, I saw the wheel surrounded by pink clouds - I love the light in these photos.

It is a wet, cold, miserable day in Sydney again today so no chance to go out for photos. These were taken on one of our visits to Peter's Dad's house during a break from moving furniture.
It feels like our Winter has arrived a few days early, so it will be into the archives for a while.

Some more animals from our visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park which is only about 15 minutes drive from our house.

As I was walking around the garden, I spotted this Blue Banded Bee clinging to the stem of a bush. This is the way that they sleep I have been told.
We were driving around Kruger during our holiday and stopped when we saw this big elephant on the edge of the road. Whilst I was taking photos, it decided to cross the road in front of our car and then walked just behind a car coming in the opposite direction. The look on the man's face says it all LOL.
A selection of photos taken as we were leaving Kruger - the afternoon light was so beautiful at that time of day.
When we went to Sun City (near Pilanesberg Game Park), we walked through the aviary that is there. I saw this colourful bird, but after looking through my pocket guide to South African birds, I can't find the ID - maybe someone will be able to help me.

We spotted this rhino when we had an early start in Kruger. We were on our way to meet up with Piet (www.flickr.com/photos/oom_piet/). Of course it was on the wrong side of the road and the light was in the wrong spot, but I am so excited to see one up so close.

After being disappointed that I hadn't seen many zebra in the first two weeks of the holiday, the last two weeks made up for it. This is a scene that greeted us as we drove along a dirt road in Kruger. At first I though the one laying down was dead as we drove so close and had to beep them before they moved LOL.

When we were driving around Pilanesberg Game Park we came across this giraffe trying desperately to get the tastiest leaves from the top of the tree.
I just realised that I haven't posted any photos of some of the many elephants that we saw during our African adventure. From memory these were taken in Kruger.

This is another Hornbill that we saw during our visit to Satara Rest Camp where we met up with Piet. I think from memory this is called a Grey Hornbill (maybe Piet can let me know).

Some more photos from our day at Featherdale Wildlife Park. It was so hot and all the enclosures had water sprays for the animals to cool off.
When we were driving through Kruger, I saw a movement in the undergrowth and called to Peter "stop the car". On inspection I spotted this African Wild cat - apparently a infrequent sighting. To me it looks like a slightly bigger version of an ordinary house cat.
When we were staying in Bexhill, East Sussex, Pat (larigan here on Flickr) took me for a drive around the area and we called in at Slidon to see the Pumpkin Festival. I never realised how many different varieties of pumpkins that there are. It was a cold, wet day and we had pumpkin soup for lunch - yummy it was too.
Tewkesbury - The Historic Town of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire where time stood still for 150 years ensuring the preservation of its medieval character and layout to the present day.
Tewkesbury is now a thriving town and at the same time is a living museum of architecture and social history spanning over 500 years. The town has such a perfectly preserved medieval character that in 1964 The Council of British Archaeology listed it amongst 57 towns "so splendid and so precious that the ultimate responsibility for them should be of national concern".
Tewkesbury is a pure delight to behold and we have no hesitation in highly recommending it as a 'MUST' place to visit by all tourists visiting the northern Cotswolds Gloucestershire region - an effort that will be amply rewarded in the memories and images you will forever keep and treasure.

The sun came out on and off today which was nice after all the rain. I decided to wash and just as I had almost finished hanging it on the line, it began to rain lightly LOL. So we had to take it off and put it on the airer inside where it will stay now until it dries.
I went to the surgeon today, but still no news as he wants me to have more x-rays and an ultrasound done. This seems to be a never ending saga it seems. Ultrasound and x-rays on Friday and doctor's visit on Tuesday which will be four weeks until we leave for Africa - cutting it fine.
I was going through my photos of our African trip looking for a specific photo. I didn't find it, but found these photos instead - I had forgotten about seeing ostrich up close during our drive through Kruger
