The village of Haworth in the heart of West Yorkshire's Bronte Country is famous (amongst other things) for hosting a very special 1940s weekend.
The event usually involves locals and visitors alike getting togged up in 1940s gear to enjoy a wide range of nostalgic events, which often include a RAF vintage plane flypast, a morale boosting visit from "Sir Winston Churchill" - as well as spivs peddling their wares and authentic swing jive and Lindy Hop dancing being performed both in the streets during the day and at specially arranged dances which are held at local dance halls and pubs in the evenings.
Haworth village is situated at the edge of the Pennine moors in West Yorkshire, England, the area made famous by the Bronte sisters, known as Bronte country. Haworth is first mentioned as a settlement in 1209. The name may refer to a hedged enclosure or hawthorn enclosure. The name was recorded as Howorth on a 1771 map.
Everett Railroad No. 11 is taking the siding to run around its train at East Freedom, Pennsylvania. Soon it will couple on and the excursion passengers will be making their way back to Hollisdaysburg.
I found most of these bottles after the dams were removed from the Cuyahoga River in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and the river level dropped by several feet. Many of them are from the 1950's & 60's.
Arriva Kent & Surrey 6402 (GN04 UDP) has been treated to WiFi fitment, joining the Safeguard bus fleet which also has WiFi.
I suspect this will have been some sort of initiative for the Uni service, which is fair enough, and people do like WiFi. However, in the wider scheme of things, WiFi on a bus which is used pretty much only the 38 and 101, which have an end to end journey time of no more than ten minutes (or occasionally the 3 which is about 20) may not be that useful!
That said, Olympian illness means Tunbridge Wells Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 6125 (LJ51 DHK) is currently on loan to Guildford and in use on the 38, displacing 6402 elsewhere (presumably Green Bus school duties).

I tried both DxO Film Pack and onOne Perfect B&W’s versions of Kodak BW 400 CN film emulation, and I preferred the DxO version. No idea which is really more accurate, though.

Pieter and Rita Boogaart are a Dutch couple who drive to and around Britain quite often and this is an updated version of the original. They seem to be accomplished travel authors as they also produced the title 'Curiosities of Bedfordshire', and apparently Pieter was once on Newsnight.
Oh, and Pieter is also the European Secretary of the Folly Fellowship.

Looking down the runway at YVR I managed to get a few shots like this one. Got to buy a bigger lens for next time and make sure that I am perfectly in alignment with the runway lights so I get perfect perspective instead of this slightly skewed angle. Still happy with it but will lean from this first attempt at a plane taking off.
