If someone told me I had to live in an eternal twilight, I wouldn't mind it much. The most moving things are almost over, like a life or a day dying. Then this building, which sits empty for most of the year, has a stuttering heart of her own. I have a set of keys from the owners, and stop in every few months when the urge for silence takes hold. Nothing is quiet like an space inside with no sound but footfalls, nothing is still like standing outside after a big storm blows through. The wind just stopped breathing, long enough for me to worry if it's still living. Restless to bed while the sun get swallowed, like a lump in the throat of the horizon, I finally feel like I can gulp down air again, and if tonight treats me well, it'll stay that way until morning.

This is the scene shortly before the guy at the top of the picture decompressed himself by floating to the surface. Eventually the divemaster got him back down and gave him the "We've just screwed up" massage.

I have no idea what the third guy is doing, but I imagine he's part of the same shambles.

It did occur to me however that I could have played an indirect role in this. If the novice diver had seen me ascending from his depth, he may have assumed he could/should follow, not understanding that I was freediving (though the lack of a tank should have helped). However, if this were the case, it's an absurd lack of preparation and I always keep a reasonable distance from divers when I'm freediving.

This horse was having a rolly polly, in the grass and now i caught the getting up , photo......

Angry, I know! This is in response to the cackling bitch at work who has nothing better to do but make up stories about other people's lives only because she's miserable and bored!

I'm a pacifist and I hate gossip. I don't engage in conversations that damage the reputation of people. I will not help spread unfounded rumours to entertain myself. I HATE THAT about some women. Why do we do it? I hate being a woman sometimes because I get painted with the same stereotypical brush as these catty, cackling bitches.

On a different note, my finger looks really big. wow... I have discovered quite a few things during these self portrait sessions.

I've been getting a lot of requests lately to shoot families and children. I dig it. mostly because people seem to call me and just ask me to "do my thing". it's always really cool to see how they turn out. here's a few from one I did about a week ago.

Getting closer to the actual spot. This time, with the help of Peter, I have proved the location, but I am a little too south of where I should be. I couldn't trespass through the wire fence though. This picture taken from standing at 39.008726,-110.173039

Getting Real About Anger

“In your anger do not sin” :

Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

and do not give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:26-27.)

Every marriage has problems, even good marriages. The difference between a good and a bad marriage is simply the ability to work through problems. The good news is that every person can learn the skills of successful conflict resolution.

Regardless of the mistakes you may have made in the past, you can turn your marriage and life around by learning these skills. And these skills work in more than just marriage; they help you in every relationship.

One of the first principles of conflict resolution is how to deal with anger. In Ephesians 4:26, the first thing that the Apostle Paul tells us about dealing with anger is that we must acknowledge it. He says, “Be angry...” Denying anger doesn’t make it go away; instead, it makes it build up until it explodes in a destructive and unmanageable manner.

Anger isn’t necessarily good or bad; it’s just real. As human beings, we get angry. Sometimes it is because we’ve been genuinely violated. In other cases, it’s because we’re immature or have unrealistic expectations or are selfish. When I’m angry and need to get it out, I’m not claiming that I’m right; I’m just angry.

When Karen and I got married, we didn’t know how to deal with anger. We both stuffed a lot of it inside and about every three months we would have an explosive fight. Sometimes our fights were about the dumbest little things, but those dumb little things were just the spark that caused the stored up anger inside of us to explode.

What we learned over time is that we couldn’t go to bed angry. We not only learned to accept our own anger, but we also learned that we had to give each other the right to be angry and to express anger. Learning to be honest about your anger and allowing your spouse to do the same is the first step in successful conflict resolution. Once you are able to accept your anger, you must also commit to doing the right thing with it. You can never use your anger to justify unrighteous behavior. How you resolve conflict is crucial. It must be resolved in a manner that honors God and treats your spouse with dignity and care.

Talk It Out | Are you able to be honest about your anger, and do you allow your spouse to be honest about anger as well? Talk about the different ways each of you tends to respond to anger, and how it makes the other one feel. What can you do to improve your methods of dealing with anger?

Walk It Out | Commit to certain rules when dealing with anger and resolving conflict. Some suggestions are:

1. Take time apart to pray about a disagreement before talking about it together.

2. Decide ahead of time to not raise the volume of your voice.

3. Speak words of affirmation to your spouse before discussing the issue at hand.

4. Agree to never threaten divorce.

I've noticed that Panda drivers in Italy appear to be getting older, along with their cars.

This one was driven by a older gent.

I first captured this car in November 2010 (see below) but was parked in the same area. It didn't have the dented tailgate corner then.

Has it really been 4 years?

This Panda is running the same type of tyre as fitted by FIAT when new - Pirelli Winter 160 (Panda 4x4 geek? Yes).

Here are my photos from an incredible week in Cleveland. I have been very fortunate over my career to get to record some very historic moments in politics. I've photographed campaign events, events at the White House, Inaugurations, been to an Inaugural Ball, I was there when President Bush officially won reelection, State of the Unions, but the one thing I had never covered was a Presidential Convention. When I heard that the RNC was going to hold their convention in Cleveland (45 minutes from our home), I knew I had to apply. I owe some thank yous to some people for helping me finally make the decision to take the time off from work, but I am very proud to say I have finally checked a convention off my bucket list.

To be 100% honest, if it was the DNC that was holding their convention in Cleveland, I would have been there too, it wasn't a political decision. When you get the opportunity to photograph anything regarding the Presidency your political leanings don't apply anymore. You say yes.

I hope you enjoy my photos. It really was an amazing week. There were some hiccups as I learned how things worked (when Trump entered the arena on Wednesday I went with a ton of other press to photograph him, and Secret Service cleared us out of there and made us go up these steps to clear out the area so the isle wasn't blocked. I was surprised at that, and when I realized they took us off the floor and up to the main level by concessions, I walked back to the media area and headed back down to the floor only to find out Secret Service had closed the floor. They said the Fire Marshal said we were at the max limit, but personally (no facts to back this up), my belief is that Trump was on the floor so the Secret Service locked it down so nobody new was going on the floor. It's ok, I understand that. I wasn't happy I had to miss Pence's speech, but I understand how security works.

Every Delegate I met was incredibly friendly (one even gave me a cool pin from Texas - it's in my collage photo).

The City of Cleveland did an amazing job, the police were incredible, and there was not a single moment I felt unconfortable, even walking back to my car at 12:45am a 1/2 mile from the arena. They did an amazing job.

Harris of Outer Hebrides is famed for its beaches. In truth, a fair part of its highly-indented coastline is very rocky. But where the coast of Harris is sandy, it does offer some of the very best beaches you will find anywhere. And perhaps the best of them all, certainly the largest and the most spectacular of them all, is Luskentyre Beach.

Luskentyre Bay bites deeply into the western side of South Harris. Although the isles are called Lewis and Harris, they are actually one single land mass. Luskentyre Beach is located just a few miles south of Tarbert. Tarbert is the capital of Harris, but it is also here that the island is so narrow that it almost becomes separated into two. Just like at Luskentyre, a deep indents have been carved so far into the land on both coastal sides of the island, that they almost meet in the middle to separate Harris and Lewis into two islands.

At high tide much of the bay is submerged, becoming part of the Sound of Taransay and looking out to the island of Taransay. This island gained media recognition after a BBC television programme based a group of people here for one year to live on the island's resources as 'castaways'.
