A random snapshot of one of Southwest Mississippi Electric Power Association's substations that is right off of MS 550 that is just outside of the city limits of Brookhaven in rural Lincoln County, Mississippi.
This is the substation where parts of Brookhaven get their electrical power from, especially several businesses on parts of the western-half of Brookway Boulevard (MS 558).
Approximately ten years (one decade) ago, there was a massive explosion and fire here and it destroyed several transformers, leaving parts of Brookhaven and many customers throughout the county without power for several months; luckily there were temporary transformers and backup generators that were put into place while they were replacing several of the destroyed transformers with new, permanent ones.

Two new Trader Joe's stores opened in the area this week and of course, I had to go see all the hype for myself! Loved getting a bouquet of sunflowers for only $4! I think I'll be addicted to that store for all the fresh flowers!
