to the lauch date of this stunning looking National.
The owner of 3645 spent another day with Dirty Girty (name of the National), and from this photo another great stride was made. The addition of the vinyls really does add another dimension to this bus, and we just need the wheels painted, doors refitted, blue depot dot code added, clean up inside and she should be ready for her Autumnal Launch date with A N Other.
At the moment it looks as though the Marwell Zoo Classic Vehicle day nr Winchester on the 19th September, could be an absolute cracker (And all the money goes towards a great cause).
I am looking forward to having a go behind the wheel of 3645, and getting some piccies on her old Stomping Grounds over the coming years.

Sunday Market in the Old Cromwell town, January 25, 2015 New Zealand, on our Journey to Queenstown.
The construction of the Clyde Dam and subsequent filling of Lake Dunstan in the 1980's brought major changes to Cromwell. Gone were two wild rivers... but there is now a beautiful new lake with many shoreline amenities. Acres of orchards were lost. .. but Cromwell has since become the fruit and wine centre of the south. Cromwell's original commercial area was drowned... but there is now a pleasant new town centre with modern facilities.
However, the old town centre with its historic bridge has not been forgotten!
Old Cromwell Incorporated was formed to do something positive about this loss, and the result is a splendid reminder of days gone by! While there is a lot of work yet to be done, many of the original town buildings have already been either restored or reconstructed . History lives on! And authenticity is the key word ... have a close look at the workmanship.
Nowadays, Old Cromwell Town is home to local craftspeople and a cafe. Enjoy a stroll around this historic precinct located at the end of Melmore Terrace. A great place to find that special memento of you r holiday. Open every day, entry is free.
The Central Otago Farmers Market is held here every Sunday running from the first Sunday in November until last Sunday in February. Enquire at the Information Centre about various other events held during the year.
And the bridge? It's still there, under 11m of water! There is a rum our that a Mk I Zephyr is still parked on it. Did you bring your SCUBA gear?

A westbound Metra work train rolls along the Elgin Subdivision in Wood Dale. NIRC SW1500 5 brings a "shoving platform" and some ballast cars along the former Milwaukee Road.
I came across this painting in a gallery in Bali. The Balinese dancers are getting ready to perform. Artist unknown. I just loved it. The painting was showing signs of wear, so I added the texture you see in CS5. This would make a nice desktop wallpaper.

We left Queenstown to make our way to Milford Sounds. Stopped in Te Anau for morning tea and to buy some lunch for our day trip. We we will be staying at Te Anau for the night.

Day five of our fast trip around the South Island with my friends from the UK. November 5, 2013 New Zealand.
Milford Sound (Māori: Piopiotahi) is a fjord in the south west of New Zealand's South Island, within Fiordland National Park, Piopiotahi (Milford Sound) Marine Reserve, and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site. It has been judged the world's top travel destination in an international survey (the 2008 Travelers' Choice Destinations Awards by TripAdvisor) and is acclaimed as New Zealand's most famous tourist destination. Rudyard Kipling had previously called it the eighth Wonder of the World.
Milford Sound is named after Milford Haven in Wales, while the Cleddau River which flows into the sound is also named for its Welsh namesake. The Māori named the sound Piopiotahi after the thrush-like piopio bird, now extinct. Piopiotahi means "a single piopio", harking back to the legend of Māui trying to win immortality for mankind - when Maui died in the attempt, a piopio was said to have flown here in mourning.
Milford Sound runs 15 kilometres inland from the Tasman Sea at Dale Point (also named after a location close to Milford Haven in Wales) - the mouth of the fiord - and is surrounded by sheer rock faces that rise 1,200 metres (3,900 ft) or more on either side. Among the peaks are The Elephant at 1,517 metres (4,977 ft), said to resemble an elephant's head, and The Lion, 1,302 metres (4,272 ft), in the shape of a crouching lion.
Milford Sound sports two permanent waterfalls all year round, Lady Bowen Falls and Stirling Falls. After heavy rain however, many hundreds of temporary waterfalls can be seen running down the steep sided rock faces that line the fiord. They are fed by rain water drenched moss and will last a few days at most once the rain stops.
With a mean annual rainfall of 6,813 mm (268 in) on 182 days a year, a high level even for the West Coast, Milford Sound is known as the wettest inhabited place in New Zealand and one of the wettest in the world. Rainfall can reach 250 mm (10 in) during a span of 24 hours. The rainfall creates dozens of temporary waterfalls (as well as a number of major, more permanent ones) cascading down the cliff faces, some reaching a thousand metres in length. Smaller falls from such heights may never reach the bottom of the sound, drifting away in the wind.
Accumulated rainwater can, at times, cause portions of the rain forest to lose their grip on the sheer cliff faces, resulting in tree avalanches into the sound. The regrowth of the rain forest after these avalanches can be seen in several locations along the sound.

These days getting lost out here would be hard to do with so many road crisscrossing the landscape..have no idea how they survived on a horse back in the day.

A school bus fan gets pictures of one of two identical buses in use at a church in Huntington WV. A guy at the garage said the buses were originally used by a school district in Indiana, and they had consecutive VIN numbers.

A determined Beverley defence deals unceremoniously with a Siddal Academy opponent at the East Riding Leisure Centre, Flemingate, in the Premier Division of amateur rugby league's Yorkshire League. Unfortunately, the hosts were less convincing for much of the match, and went down 42-18 against the divisional leaders. Halifax-based Siddal had the points in the bag at half-time, when they found themselves 24-0 up. But Beverley gave as good as they got after the break, running in three tries, all converted.
