Lamborghini Gallardo SE

Italia a Zandvoort

This car was present at the Italia a Zandvoort 2010 event, when it did a few laps around the track I got the opportunity to get some shots at the paddock.

Although there are several people in this shot, the SE was very kind to try to hide them behind her beautiful orange doors.

The lamborghini Gallardo SE (Special Edition) is a to 250 units limited version introduced in late 2005.

The SE is distinguished from the regular Gallardo externally by having a black-roofed two-tone color scheme as well as specially-designed "Callisto" rims shod with Pirelli tires.

Note that the Gallardo SE could only be ordered in a very small selection of exterior colors: two grey shades as well as white (Balloon white), yellow (Giallo Midas), Orange (Arancio Borealis) and green (Verde Ithaca).

The Gallardo SE comes with a two-tone interior. All piping and stitching on the ultra-quality leather are executed in the same color as the bodywork of the car.

The mid sections of the seats are finished in color-coded upholstery and even the black floormats have a color coded borders.

A rear-view camera is also standard issue on the Gallardo SE, as is a multimedia system and a navigation system.

The sport suspension and an exclusive cover also came with the car but there are still several other options available, like the E-gear, which featured a 'thrust' mode to offer even more impressive acceleration by improving the gearchange through the different gears.

This "thrust" mode automatically revs the car to 5,000 rpm, drops the clutch engaging all four wheels in a controlled burnout, and ensures the car performs maximum acceleration.

This "launch" only requires the driver to engage the "thrust" mode and step on the gas pedal, similar to the launch technology in pre-2008 Formula 1 race cars.

Autoroute [A480] | Grenoble 29/06/2015 19h20

We took exit number 2 on the autoroute A480 to get to the center of Grenoble where our hotel was located.

Autoroute A480 (France)

The A480 motorway is an urban highway of Grenoble, completely free and serving western conurbation over a distance of 12.5 km. The highway brought the number B48 until 1982.

It forms its western bypass, and borders on the river Drac almost entirely and links the A48 and the A51. It also links with the A41 by the ring road south. Since 2015, the widening of the highway from 2x2 to 2x3 lanes is causing a major source of contention in the Grenoble area.

Roadtrip [8] 29/06/2015

On my birthday the plan was to drive the Route Napoleon from Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey to Grenoble. The planning was 320 kilometers and a 6 hour drive. We started late this day and we had to go back to Grasse to find a gas station. About one hour and 29 kilometers extra was the result. We followed the Route Napoléon (former N85) via Castellane, Digne les Bains (McLunch), Sisteron, Gap, the Col Bayard (+1248 m), Corps, La Mure, Prairie de la Rencontre and we ended up in the center of Grenoble at a Best Western hotel. The highest temperature we experienced near Digne (+34° C).

In total we have driven 329 kilometers, all driven by Stewart. We arrived at Grenoble at 19h30 which means the average speed was quite low today. Leaving at 10h36, arrived at 19h30 means an average speed of only 37 km/h. Including photostops, lunch, rest and gas. The visit to the city of Grenoble was postponed to the next day.
