To get from Nice to London, I opted to fly on British Airways. A decade earlier, I was a BA Gold Card member. I booked this NCE-LHR without much enthusiasm, aware that the cheeseparing regime of former CEO Alex Cruz had imposed draconian cuts to the airline’s standards of comfort and service. The Economy Class seat-pitch had been tightened to an unacceptable 29 inches (Ryanair offers better) and food was strictly buy-on-board. So I forked out $672 for a 1-way Club Class ticket for a 31-inch seat pitch and free scoff. This was the food offering - OK, but nothing to excite the palate. The service was OK, but ditto: BA cabin staff can be friendly or totally aloof and even perfunctory. The flight was punctual and I had no issues with checked-in luggage. I give it a 7/10 rating, but I won’t rushing back to BA anytime soon.

This is my response to the "get pushed "challenge by leadingedgephotography- who has such a great variety of photo techniques in her stream. She asked me to do a concept shot based on these lyrics:
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
Well I never do concept shots- I am much more concrete, and even though what I came up with has certainly been done before by many other people, this push made me think. And that's good.
It's dark - the sun had been down for a while and the rain clouds were coming in. Still, a beautiful evening in Algonquin Provincial park.
It took about an hour but I got so that I could get within about forty feet of the western meadow larks today. Left click for more detail.

Praise the Lord for a chance to visit HK again after 5 years, even if it was just for 3 days. :)
Our landscaper, Zack, came twice today to plow the driveway. We shoveled the cars out this evening and Zack will be back to clean out the driveway again once the cars are out of there tomorrow ... uh-huh ... ka-ching.
Getting in close on butterflies, one thing that strikes me is how very hairy they are. This small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) sports a pretty furry coat, really.
A flock of 15 Rosyfaced Lovebirds were having a very noisy get-together on our neighbour's roof. By the time I had finished fiddling with lens, camera, exposure blabla, only 9 were left. But still....I felt pretty chuffed to have managed this snapshot at least.

Never found a group like this again. Still chuffed. ;-)

This kid is getting older all the time, especially since he's quickly fitting into his older brothers' clothes. Playing around with a 70D & 85mm f/1.8 for www.CanonRumors.com enjoying them both so far.
Not 100% yet but definitely much better than two weeks ago! Now if this annoying cough would just go away, I'd be thrilled!

Turns out the Action Man figure I needed with the compatible concave neck was only sold in more expensive sets and so thats why he’s so darn hard to find. I finally found a set I was willing to pay for online and he came today.
My childhood Action Man has a modded neck to work with FR boy bodies so I had no idea how an untouched Action Man would work on the Tom of Finland body.
Surprisingly, with the Hot Toys neck peg, the fit is PERFECT without any modding. Now to actually customize him…
