Greatest bumper sticker ever! Sometimes I'd like to slap one on my forehead.

These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
We woke to a better day after yesterdays cold wet day. Lining up waiting to go up the Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.
Locally nicknamed "La dame de fer" (French for "Iron Lady"), it was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centrepiece of the 1889 World's Fair and was initially criticised by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but it has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world. The Eiffel Tower is the most visited monument with an entrance fee in the world; 6.91 million people ascended it in 2015. The Tower was made a Monument historique in 1964 and named part of UNESCO World Heritage Site ("Paris, Banks of the Seins") in 1991.

Hardly ideal conditions for photography as 45697 approaches the road bridge at Ais Gill with an unfitted goods.
while watching the rerun just now of last night's "daily show" (with the president of pakistan! o jon, how i love thee), i looked to my left and saw isabel, in predator mode.

Sandra and I obviously love kissing each other. Guess everybody wants to get in the show............
Was kissed by a car broadside this weekend.
Trust me.......... Much prefer Sandra's. Won't ever complain about that lizard lady again.....
A pair of Habronattus (I think H. pyrrithrix) jumping spiders. The male displayed a little bit for the female, but maybe when he saw she was distracted with her meal, he decided to move in carefully without doing too much dancing. But she apparently didn't like having her dinner interrupted, because although he managed to get close to her a few times, she kept kicking him away, and finally he got the message and gave up. (Sequence of five shots from three or four of his attempts)

A poor day weather-wise on Monday meant that I hadn't set foot outside the house by tea-time.
The appearance of an STP Kingmoor - Sellafield light-engines move allied to a slight reduction in the general gloom meant that I was going out for it, if for no other reason than to prevent myself going stir-crazy!
I plumped for St. Bees as whatever the consist was (no gen') it would have to slow for the token exchange and I could get away with a reduced shutter speed in the murk.
The driver of No.20305 prepares to lean out and accomplish the exchange with the signalman.
Nos.20309 & 57008 complete the trio.
One Friday night I decided I'd leave work and go out and take snaps around London. I managed to get as far as the back entrance to work, before taking my first one! I think a lot of buildings around Strand are very photogenic and The Shell Mex House is no exception. This was my very first proper HDR shot and as I uploaded it on Irina's birthday, I'll dedicate it to her (as opposed to getting her an actual present.)

It can get a bit claustrophobic at times in Venice...
