I love seeing these adorable, fuzzy-faced, poison-drinking little bees. So far I have only seen males - they emerge first, then hang around in bars, I mean flowers, drinking and fighting and waiting for the females to appear. This solitary mining bee is a specialist on Death Camas (Toxicoscordion) flowers, which are toxic to most other creatures - from honey bees to cattle. (Andrena astragali, Montana)

This is an absolutely ancient image from my HD, it felt nice to re-edit it in the way I am used to now, looks so much better!
Greta brings Fuzzy to me as a gift each night while we're asleep. She won't bring it directly to me, but rather leaves at the foot of or on the chairs I sit in.

These lovely grasses grow in the front yard. They are not safe for dogs to be around. Their seeds are very small and can be inhaled or get stuck in the dog causing serious irritations. Keep your pets away from them!

I would be exaggerating to suggest I am well versed in mycology, but I can say mushrooms have fascinated me for many years. I’m delighted when I run across one I have never seen before. I was able to identify this one; it is Panus neostrigosus. Mostly, it’s just cool. And fuzzy.

Tofu is shedding his winter coat, I hope this means that it's getting spring although the temperatures are still very wintry. At this time of year he looks even fuzzier than usual although I brush him every day.

Went to an Orchid show at the planting fields Arboretum yesterday, I had great 5 hour shooting flowers plus the grounds,
Fuzzy-leafed gesneriads, kohlerias (Kohleria spp.) originated in Mexico and South America.
Because they are mainly tropical, often beautiful and frequently exotic, people sometimes wonder if the gesneriads are a kind of orchid. They’re not closely related, but there are some similarities.
Closely related to the Gesneriads is the large foxglove family, the Scrophulariaceae. Many common garden ornamentals come from this group, including foxglove (Digitalis), snapdragons (Antirrhinum), monkey flower (Mimulus), Veronica, Calceolaria and Pentstemon.
