I found a grassy field full of these cute fuzzy caterpillars. I personally think caterpillars are adorable, but these were just extra cute! I was tempted to pick one up to cuddle it.
Identification: Tiger Moth Family (Arctiidae)
More commonly known as "Wooly Bears"!
41 yards, really thick and fluffy corespun, over 2 oz. Fibers include wool, alpaca, mohair, angora, llama, silk, angelina, acrylic, bamboo, cotton, etc.
The little melons arrive like thisāall fuzzy (which is really only a polite way of saying "very hairy"). Sadly, some critter got to and destroyed the vine, and we only harvested one (sweet) melon. Alas! Next year I'll do better. I don't use pesticides and am not sure what it was that got this, but I'll have all winter to study up. It was fun while it lasted. :)
My camera skills will need some improvement, but I just had to show off this mini-clip of a fuzzy caterpillar. It was crossing the path in front of me at an amazing speed! (this was filmed last year btw)

My son gets an activity bag from school every so often and this week, he had a fuzzy felt farm set in it.
