I love the fuzzy heads of the cotton grass. It can be found everywhere in the mountains where there are high moors or tranquil lakes.
Ich mag die Wuschelköpfe des Wollgrases. Ich finde es einfach herrlich anzuschauen. Man findet es überall in den Bergen, wo es Hochmoore oder ruhige Seen gibt.
If you're in Oregon, or have photos of insects that were taken in Oregon, I would love for you to join the "Oregon Insects" group!
The spring "fiddleheads" of the interrupted fern are covered in fuzz when they first emerge in the spring. These were photographed in Perrot State Park near Trempealeau, Wisconsin. Interesting fact: Fossil records show that interrupted ferns have remained unchanged since the time of the dinosaurs. Wish I could say the same!
The fuzzy caterpillar
curled up on a leaf.
Spun her little chrysalis
and then fell fast asleep.
While she was sleeping,
she dreamed that she could fly.
And later when she woke up,
she was a butterfly.

Hope you are all doing well! I'll try and get by and make comments this week. Thanks for all your comments and support.

It looks like this fence is a favorite place for livestock to scratch an itch. There are both cows and horses in the area so we get a nice mix of fur balls for Fenced Friday. HFF.
Just looking around and came across this picture from a few months ago. Played around with it to see what I could do with it.
Echeveria 'Pulvinata Ruby' (a.k.a. Ruby Slippers) blooming in my San Diego garden. Echeveria are plants native to remote, mountainous terrain between 1,000 and 4,000 feet elevation. They range from Mexico to Argentina.
This year year the lime tree seeds in their fuzzy ball cases are scarce where I walk the dog. It looks like Autumn already with a golden carpet of seedless sail bracts. This web-caught bract quivering in the breeze has undersized seeds.
