a warm and fuzzy handknit scarf detail

All fuzzy - though shall not try to shoot at 1/30s while walking! The Orion 28 is remarkably free from vignetting - even light across the field.

Taken at dusk near Lake Grapevine, TX.

We had lots of fuzzy creatures on campus this past week. Madison shared her soon-to-be therapy bunny Captain Kirk with fellow students. Thanks for sharing!

(Reworked 15 Sept. 2014) - Another rework from the archives. I really liked the textures here. As children, we called this "Rabbit Tobacco".

...six spot burnet moth hanging out beside the Leeds - Liverpool canal at Leigh

Six-Spot Burnet - Zygaena filipendulae

Wingspan 30-38 mm.

This is the commonest of Britain's day-flying Burnet moths, and is found throughout Britain, with a coastal bias in the North.

Occupying meadows, woodland clearings and sea-cliffs, it flies from June to August.

The larvae feed mainly on bird's-foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus).

Burnet moths, unlike most others, come out in the daytime. Most are safe from attack by hungry birds because they taste horrible and are slightly poisonous - a fact that they advertise with their bright red or yellow wing spots.

Another shot from my location scouting on Monday, taken very close only half an hour later. The colours of the sunset just kept going even though it was getting quite dark and I needed to a 30 sec exposure. I don´t often go for completely flattening out the water but I kinda like this, it makes the fjord seem like a giant fuzzy mirror.

Hope you all have a great weekend, not sure if I will get out as there is a lot of rain forecast.
