Utah Railway RSD-4 No. 303 shows off its newly rebuilt Alco four-stroke 244 V-12 prime mover in Martin, Utah on July 25, 1977. Alco built 36 RSD-4 locomotives between 1951 and 1952. Sadly, the 1600 HP 244 engine tarnished Alco's reputation as it had reliability issues when crankshafts were prone to failure. On a positive note, the RSD-4's six-motor design allowed better tractive effort at lower speeds when they lugged heavy coal trains over Soldier Summit.

On 14 February 1935, BMW presented the R12 together with the BMW R17 on the German Automobile Exhibition in Berlin for the first time, being a direct successor to the BMW R11. This and the R17 were the first in the world being produced with hydraulically damped telescopic forks. By 1942, the total number of BMW R12 motorcycles manufactured was 36,000. For military purposes, the Einvergasermotor was only available for the R12.

The Yamaha SRX was produced from 1985 to 1997 The chassis was a lightweight steel frame with alloy wheels, a double disc brake on the front- and a single disc brake on the rear wheel. However, unlike its cheaper predecessor, the SRX600 did not compete well on the international market. In Japan, the SRX was sold with a reduced displacement of 400 cc for tax reasons, or 608 cc. These models featured an oil cooler. From 1988, the 2NX model was sold, which featured a 17-inch front wheel and single 320 mm brake disc

Every Boxing Day there is an event called the Wild and Wooly which is held at Blisworth in Northamptonshire. At 11 o'clock around 50 crazed fuel junkies run for their motorbikes, kick start them, then like the sound of thunder they charge to the first corner eager to get this race underway. Ruts, hills, bumps, holes, the occasional stream to cross is just a few obstacles that lay ahead.
Many men start, few finish.. Just what you need to burn off that Christmas dinner..
