Mad Mark built this in the middle of the night out of materials lying around the Bulb. Clint Eastwood wants to help get it designated an historical landmark. It is has a heart shaped roof, a little spiral staircase, and an amazing view. that's the golden gate bridge off in the distance.
Here's another doodle from the same fading bouquet of flowers before I threw them out. Jeff came into the kitchen to make coffee earlier this morning to find decaying vegetation spread out on the kitchen counter as I experimented with doodles. He is a patient husband.

Last summer there was an art project in Racine, WI where artists were challenged to create bird sculptures from "found objects". They were then displayed on the sidewalks and in store windows of the downtown area. Some of them were pretty strange; this is a sampling. Created for the Impressed by Your Beauty mosaic contest.
Street Pests is a street art project commissioned by the City of Greater Dandenong. Various materials found discarded in the streets have been refashioned into pigeons and rats which are then installed back into the streets they were found.
Street Pests encourages passersby to look again at the world around them by inserting the unexpected into their every day. It also refutes the idea that once something hits the ground it's simply rubbish with no further use. Finally, it's a moment of soft, playful quirkiness in contrast to the grey concrete and red brick walls of our every day urban environment.
a found-art sculpture i have put together over the years. it is composed of objects lost and found from bikes, cars, guitars, lighting fixtures, etc. looks like an insect to me.
The birdhouse now hangs in our back yard alongside our fountain and numerous bird feeders.
I "primed" it with nesting materials, including dryer lint and palm bark.
It's really quite beautiful and we love it. I can't wait to see a mama bird with her chicks use it next spring.
This little tanker truck is made from a gum tin, wood, checkers, thumbtacks and wire. Stamped into the metal side of the truck is 'lots-O-love'. the back door opens!
