The Pensive Christ or Christus im Eland ("Christ in Distress" in German) is a subject in Christian iconography depicting a contemplating Jesus, sitting with his head supported by his hand with the Crown of Thorns and marks of his flagellation. It is therefore a picture of Jesus shortly before his crucifixion, although more an andachtsbilder or devotional subject than intended to show an actual moment in the narrative of the Passion of Christ.

I had found a small carved wood figure of The Pensive Jesus a long time ago, (not knowing the history behind this depiction of Jesus), so I pulled it out from my stash of treasures, and created a shrine for Him from an old cuckoo clock, candlestick holder and assorted decorative touches

I bought this torso a few months ago, it's been sitting on a table in my living room, where I have been thinking of different ways I could use it or alter it. It looks like it's covered in leather, but infact it's more like a plether covering (a kind of plastic like leather look).

I've added a gauge to the top of the torso as the head. I am just in the beginning stages of steampunking this more.. but for now it's back sitting on the table waiting for more inspirational ideas.

More to come.....

na na na na na na naaaaaaaa na Katamari Damacy...

My friend Beth (http://ryumia.deviantart.com) created the polymer clay katamari on the far left. In size order there is a die, maki tuna roll (also by Beth), banana, badminton shuttle, coca-cola bottle, pineapple, ladie's shoe, buddha statue, motorbike, and gymnast.

The lucky new owner of this OOAK bracelet was thrilled, I hope the king approves of her katamari, but it is probably too small to be made into a star.

Wes, quit complaining you were outfitted with a hat and scarf! Quick shot from the studio. There are better images of this one.
