A cold and forboding Family tableau

I know so little about history, but this seems very Victorian/Dickensian, and very picturesque in an ominous, forboding sort of way.

My Dad and i went to the Old Fort on Shoreham Beach on Saturday morning to try and catch the sunrise, unfortunatley that never materialised so i had to try some other things. Then i tried capturing this it didn't look very special so i did a B&W conversion.

It was a former Coastguard tower that has been empty for many years and is now home to loads of birds which have found there way inside.

I havent done a B&W conversion before i desaturated it then gave it some levels and curves in Photoshop and then some dodging and burning.

Playing about with the Macro function on my camera phone. The tree is an Australian Alpine Wattle, I think. Not sure how many Alps are in Australia but there ya go!

Nice very forboding sky on that one!

From July 6, 2002: There are many tunnels in and around Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. As far as I know, this, the Armstrong Tunnel in downtown Pittsburgh, is the only one that curves. This tunnel has been the site of many odd and unseemly events, and whenever I approach this curve, I always get a sense of forboding, never knowing what's lurking around the bend.
