Mmm Carnitas tacos.
Mmm Baja fish tacos.
The best kind of food is the kind that has fish in it. And Carnitas. Lol.
I painted a custom pair of shoes for my pal at her request. She loves food. For information on a pair of your own please shoot me an e-mail at SamFantastico@gmail.com
Going off book this year. Instead of the oh so tasty pumpkin pie, that everyone knows is a staple of Thanksgiving, I'm going with something new. No cooking this year (for me at least), so I'm contributing this cookie crust, velvet chocolate, whipped cream and chocolate chip topped piece of edible art. We'll see how it fairs with the mob.
I really had a bit of trouble in thinking what I'm thankful for this year. But I guess it just comes down to still being alive. Last year, that wasn't the case. I was in a self destructive pattern and a suicidal mentality, still suffering with my wife's passing. In the past twelve months though, my life has gotten better - more so lately. So I guess I'm thankful for that as well.
I've staved off my depression and have not had any relapse, as of yet. I still have some bad days, but nothing as hollow or as drowning as they were in the past. I don't think I will ever escape this sorrow inside of me, but at least I am now able to smile and laugh with more frequency and sincerity...
Anyway. Stuff yourselves stupid today, and give thanks that you're alive to do so. HTGD o_O
My first attempt at meat pies. The dough was a sticky mess. Hence the thick, rough texture of the first pie I made. Yeah, that one completely fell apart in the fryer and went straight to the trash.
Cockermouth Hosts Food Fest 2011. The Hairy Bikers are no strangers to Cumbria. Dave was born and bred in Barrow-in-Furness and now lives in Morecambe Bay, whilst Si hails from the nearby North East.
The best nocturnal (decaffeinated) lemonade iced tea. photo taken by @yipe Michael Margolis (compare it to my weak iphone shot of same iced tea glass a few pics after this one) this is a great photo, although Michael said he could have done better and wasn't very pleased with it.
I like it. :)
Not the best quality photo, but one of the photo panels in a re-painted window frame. The photos are mounted behind the glass.
This is my first time working with a phyllo dough sheet. The recipe came from The Kitchen on Food Network during the holidays (the worst time to watch a cooking show!). I cut down feta cheese and salt from the original recipe. Another great comfort food!
