Post-Polo trainings

This made me laugh so hard after I shot it

Found a big flock in Wellington harbour.

This moth is known as a "Hummingbird" moth or "Sphinx" moth.

This is a class of the physical education of the elementary school.

A tiny Small White Butterfly on the nettles on the cliff tops south of Stonehaven

The new Butterfly Pavillion at the zoo in Omaha is just so cool! Nothing says "summertime" quite like a butterfly... even if it is a little bit ( or a lot) cliched....

My daughter Ella Rosalyn, aged three and a third.

Many thanks to TrailingStar for allowing me to incorporate his rather excellent butterfly capture.

Last of the unicorn pictures. I'll have to go out and get some more.

One of my creations :) Made for the beautiful girl in this picture!

Taking my new Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO lens for a photowalk and spending time with an old friend John Vargo!

This is a VINTAGE Japanese Houmongi. Houmongi are semi-formal kimono that can be worn by both married and unmarried women. They are characterized by artfully arranged patterns that flow seamlessly across the garment's seams. This kimono displays a whimsical pattern of colourful butterflies fluttering across a black background This kimono likely originates in the mid to late Showa Period (1926 - 1989). It is rinzu silk, woven with a pattern of parasols and hail stones.

I have inspected this kimono in detail, there is very minimal damage; only some slight marks on the exterior, and some stains on the lining. Overall, I would rate this kimono in excellent vintage condition. This garment is 100% silk.

MEASUREMENTS:

Length: 153cm

Arm Span: 124cm

Width Across Back: 57cm

Total Width of Skirt: 128cm

Sleeve Drop: 47cm

SIZING

If you are unsure of how to interpret the kimono's size it is important to know that the length (collar - hem) should be approximately 10cm longer to 10cm shorter than the wearer's overall height (longer is better). This is because the excess length will be folded up at the waist. Meanwhile, the skirt should wrap around the hips a full 1.5 times. The armspan should also reach wrist to wrist on the wearer. In this case, the kimono will ideally fit a woman about 143cm (4'8") - 163cm (5'4") tall, with hips about 85cm (33.5") around. There is some give and take in these measurements though.

this one sort of takes my breath away, like that leaf is going to fly away into the pretty, shiny lights, only to be gone forever...*sigh*...i love circles of confusion...bokeh...see you in the morning...

Fluttering Silk Scarf--Silk iridescent chiffon. Available in 35 colors

A church in Fira on Santorini. Shot HDR, hence the "fluttering" flags on the right.

Everything seems to literally flutter by so quickly these days...days, weeks, months. My age, my life - it all just flitter flutters by.

And it's for exactly those reasons that I am trying my best to make the most of the time we are here :)

For the record - it was BALTIC taking these! Prior to shooting it I had my cardigan, two scarves and my dressing gown on (goodness knows what my brother's neighbours must think!!). I'm really not well suited to these cold times!!

some eat, some sqeak and some soar!
