Couldn't resist the repeats, even though there are only two of them. I'm going to make some of these blocks with each of the solid colors that match the focus fabric and then decide how to set them.
The theme this year for the illumination: Four Seasons. It fearured a boy and girl initially sitting at a window and watching a tree grow. Then butterflies appeared and drew the children outside to walk through the outdoors in summer. Various animations happen in each season. In the springtime the butterflies flutter around and then the cherry blossoms blow off the trees.
I got a new set of butterfly cutters over the holidays and I just LOVE all the shapes. I wanted to do something different for Valentine's Day and these seemed to be the perfect fit.
Pretty little beads by Laura Sparling put together with blue quartz and silver. Seriously cute earrings!
Blocks are finished for a 7 x 7 square setting. I'm going to do a random color placement of the blocks and use some sashing.
Prayer flags are very much a part of Tibetan Culture, even in the cities.

I will be the first to admit - I got super lucky on this shot. All the elements aligned in such a way that it just happened to work, and I happened to be fortunate enough to have been placed where I could witness it and capture it firsthand.
Her overall size is 19" tall x 13" wide. Including all of the curly/swirled wire.
She has a wire hanger on the back for hanging on the wall....I've created FLuTTeR-bEE using a handpainted wood base for her body and lots and lots of whimsical curled black wire all over. :)
