The coast of Australia visible on the horizon

I am enthralled by these landscapes

That tailwind is still with me and has sped up considerably letting me nose down into a pretty high-speed 3° descent angle as I begin my descent

Descending towards Paraburdoo over the Hamersley Range

About to be boxed in by ridges, time to head downwind

Ready to depart, thankfully the active runway was the one right next to the GA tarmac

Short final into Aomori with the city off in the distance

Fishing ship plods north as I look out towards the isle of Stronsay

Managed to find my way back to the runway facing most into the wind

2 for 2! Set my altimeter back when ATC gave me their pressure reading

Winds are not dying down below 24,000' and I'm kind of bummed I didn't think to pay a visit to Kilimanjaro so you know what? Let's do that. A low-altitude airway intersection will take me right by the mountain and since I definitely don't have the endurance to spare, will have to divert and refuel. Thankfully I was able to reroute and the FMS followed the new plan without issue

Taxiing out as the rainstorm continues. Bleh

Route direct towards the Seychelles also managed to take me through most of the clear sky as I climbed up past the clouds

Cruising at only 25,500' because the winds only get worse higher up. Set power for range, but even then I'm cutting it close to reserves while also having to fly slower. Also, I mistakenly hit a key or something because my transponder reset to US/Canada VFR code 1200. There's a button for that on the display but I did not press it. This is when the code changed but I never noticed or corrected it during the flight

Civilization meets wilderness as farm fields are cut off at the border of the South- Western Mau National Reserve. The green also quickly gives way to parched farmland in the south

Looking past Lake Naivasha and over the Aberdare Range towards Mount Kenya - the 2nd-tallest peak in Africa. I am now heading towards THE tallest peak

Fairy circles? Oh wait, way too high for that. Likely dried up watering holes

Coming off AP to divert and setup for a right base visual approach

Taxiing out for departure - except this is not a taxiway...

Made it up right at the end with still some room to spare behind the marked runway

Departing straight out from Malindi

Got my climb rate set to Vx and keeping a close eye on my power settings and turbine temperatures. I also notice that my altitude is already set to standard pressure, because I somehow missed setting it during preflight. It's a checklist item! Epic fail

Good climb so far up to cruise, no turbine temp or pressurization issues. Looks like two people are tripping together down the African coast

Not sure how the flaps got deployed (see indicator bottom-left on right-hand display) and it took me a while to realize what was making the aircraft behave weirdly. Easy fix, no harm done - although the PoH does state you shouldn't do this above 15,000'

Top of descent, sun getting low behind me and will be even lower from down on the ground

In visual range of the Seychelles but they remain hidden behind clouds

Coming around over the Baie Ste Anne looking towards the islands of Grand Soeur and Felicite

Through an alley of clear weather Fair Isle looms on the horizon

Sun is up by the time I'm ready to head out

Made it up to Vr speed no problem by the bottom of the hill and just waiting to fly off the edge

Still climbing, heading for a pass of Mont Blanc

Not all the valleys had fog

Leveling off at 15,500' seems fine...

Briefly into Italy looking back towards France

Fuel range is good, all set for descent

The prominent peak of Monte Viso

Top of descent, gotta head down through only slightly broken clouds. I *should* be far enough past the higher mountains but I'm not following an IFR arrival route...

Although they gave me Runway 4L as I expected, I was able to request 4R to keep me clear of any incoming AI traffic

Breaking through the clouds over Beaulieu-sur-Mer and turning towards the airport with Nice spread out before it

setting up for downwind, no other planes on approach it appears - one just landed and the one on my radar seems to be outbound over the Mediterranean

Landing clearance granted and it looks like that flight is vectoring in around the rain storm?

'Scuse me! Just passing by!

Ready to get tugged to my parking spot - definitely don't want to pay a hefty fine!

Departure and arrival as I work through my shutdown checklist
