A Group Photo of some of the Columbus Flickr Meet Group at the Ohio Theater. This room is stunningly beautiful, really it's just jaw dropping.

This was a great event, and we had a lot of people show up... look forward to seeing everyone next time. This photo is Definately Best Viewed Large. By my count there are almost 40 people...

Put a Note with your name on your head (or if you know the person)...

...that's a lotta camera gear there folks, brings a tear to my eye..ha!

Tech Stuff: This was actually kinda tricky to pull off.. not a ton of light and we had to light up a decent amount of space. Shot was exposed at 15mm @ f/4, 1/50th w/ISO1600 (ISO800 didn't let enough of the background light in)... I was rushing so I would have done a few things different here, but oh well... here it is anyway, proof we were all here.

The gear was a Canon 20D with a Canon 10-22mm lens on a Manfrotto Tripod. There were five Canon Speedlites used to take this photograph (two 580EX's, one 550EX and two 430EX), two flashes were placed on the bottom right and left on the sides, and then another set of flashes about eight rows up. The flashes on the left were held by our wonderful guide... all triggered by a Canon speedlite on the hot shoe.

Set Desc: Photographs of The Ohio Theater in Columbus Ohio, which was the subject of the a recent Columbus Flickr Meet, with over 40 Flickr folks from the Central Ohio area converging to hang out, and photograph this beautiful theater.

NOTE: This photo made it into Flickr's 'Explore" as one of the top five hundred most interesting photos on a particular day, which makes me somewhat sad as the actual resulting photos didn't make it, ha! You can see all of my photo's that have made it into the Flickr Explore pages here.

red seats repeated... I liked the way the light was hitting the tops of the seats. A 13 second exposure at f/9 w/ISO 200, was a fun setting.

I will be mainly off Flickr for the next two weeks as I am part of a Flickr meetup with nine other wonderful photographers that many of you know. Starting tomorrow morning, we (me and the two others from here) will be showing others that are coming from far away our beautiful province and doing lots of photography. I will try to post and comment occasionally, if I have time. If you want to follow along, I will be posting on Facebook regularly, so if you're not already friends with me on there, feel free to add me :)

I was gone all day yesterday and had the pleasure of meeting up with my dear Flickr friend Lauri and her husband Jim. (Lauri). Thank you again for taking the time to spend with us at this wonderful place for sunset shots. She is just as sweet as I thought she was.

I got home last night and had no internet connection. I will try and catch up this morning. I will be gone for the afternoon and evening.

Thanks for your visits, comments and invites. hugs.

DEFINITELY BETTER IF VIEWED LARGE ON BLACK

this is for all my fellow Filipino Flickrites (PK's, Flikristasindios and others) who have showered me with much love and goodness during my visit here in the Philippines. you have welcomed me into your hearts and homes with such graciousness, fed me, took me to great places, made me laugh and now i am saddened that my visit is coming to a close (in about a week). here's a poem, one i've always known by heart, and this one is coming from the heart:

what thanks can i presume to give

to you who live the gracious life of giving

of giving and receiving the golden gift of love

what i want to say today in this or any other way can never be expressed

it is best felt and understood in the small voice of gratitude

in thoughts, not words that one may have the will, but not the skill

to fashion and impart when all the loud and clouded hours are still

in the unvoiced responses of the thank-filled heart

the sudden start of the awakened pulse that quickens and exults

always remember this, thankfulness is a boon

a pleasant and a joyful thing to bring, a lasting pleasure for us to treasure

to relish and renew again and yet again

thanks for everything that's good and true: YOU

-Louis Untermeyer

I would love to see you at my exhibition at the *****contrasted gallery group.

That's Gronings, for multiple poles :)

I took this photo at a mini flickrmeet-up, in Noordpolderzijl, that's the smallest seeharbor of the Netherlands.

I made two photos, one for the sky and water and one for the street and poles.

211 seconds and 460 seconds, but I should have done a longer one, because the 460 sec. was pretty dark too..

Luckily I shoot RAW :)

I've always wanted to climb into this Paul Detlefsen print that we've had hanging in our house for all long as I can remember. Then I thought, "Wouldn't it be so much better if some other fun people could join me?" Hope none of ya'll mind hanging out at the barn with me today. For any of my contacts who aren't in this and wish to be let me know. You may just be around back or at the house for a spell. If you are in this and wish not to be let me know also. I'll turn you into a bush or something.

I told you not to worry kirstin, I had us covered on this one.

Drop everything and come and have some great fun. Email me for the details.

Flicker meet up on April 7th 2018 produced some stunning images by all those who took part. This is just my interpretation of a scene taken from the Thames Barrier looking back toward the City of London; not really the perception people have of London, but the new London, construction work and more high rise buildings.

Yeah, the irises were pretty commanding, but this wet dandelion had a charm of its own...

Baker Street underground as it has been photographed many times. I know it’s not an original but I liked what I saw and had to go and do it for myself; at least the people are different.

Our Flickr group had it's 10 year anniversary meet up. It was a little soggy but we had a nice turn out.

Thank you Peter for guyding me in this wonderful nature.

A day of photography, laughter and too many G&T's with true flickr friends...thanks Ant and Rob!
