Again another uni project photograph. This was entitled "your flexible friend". I chose to do this as i feel that the queen in a chess game sums this slogan up quite well. I simply used my bedside lamp in a dark room for the lighting. My lamp seems to work well for photography lighting.

day 146
today I went to my mom's classroom and took jumping pictures of all of her students for her. This one is of a girl whose house burned down four days before this, and she is still so happy and joyful and young
Resilience is the ability of something to return to its original shape, like elasticity or flexibility.
It shouldn't be confused with adaptability, an ability to change, to be plastic. Politicians want us to be adaptable so they don't have to do anything to keep us safe from unguided change.
Instead of bending to politicians wills, we should admire the resilience of this bottlebrush, Callistemon citrinus. It normally flowers in Spring, and it did. But it's had a tough Summer and now with Autumn rain and warm weather it is resiliently having another go. It hasn't given up, become adaptable. Hear that ScoMo? Yeah, that's right, try harder, have a go.
First there was the mismanagement of the climate crisis, then the Summer bushfire crisis, now the Autumn COVID-19 crisis. What will Winter bring, the economic/employment crisis? Dear Government, you are staggering, punch drunk, from one crisis to another. Where is your resilience? Stop hiding under the bed and make a name for yourselves which we can repeat in polite company.

Browning M2 .50 Caliber Flexible Machine Gun
Type M3 Anti-aircraft Mount
The Browning M2.50 caliber is the most renowned heavy machine gun used by the United States Military.
The M2, nicknamed the "Ma Deuce", has been used by all branches of the military in every conflict from the 1930s to the current day and has been used by many foreign militaries. The M2 is used as infantry support, assaulting light vehicles, and has been the armament of choice for vehicles, patrol boats, and aircraft. They are also used as short-range anti-aircraft guns, like the one on display.
This M2 is a water-cooled version of the machine gun used during World War II. It has a water jacket covering the gun barrel. Filled with water it cools the barrel allowing for a longer rate of fire before overheating. While it had its advantages, the liquid-cooled gun was significantly heavier than the air-cooled M2 making it hard to use as a mobile infantry weapon. Due to their weight, they were typically used in static defensive positions and as anti-aircraft guns.
This M2 is mounted on an M3 anti-aircraft mount. The M3 was designed to be more stable than previous mounts. This allowed for more accurate shooting against low-flying, high speed aircraft.
