Surprised that no one has posted a shot of skin - the most easily accessible and very flexible object that can be photographed. This is a shot of a section of my palm. The logistics involved in getting this shot was quite tricky!

Buzzards are large birds with broad rounded wings and a short tail. They are typically brown, often with a light necklace beneath the breast and white undersides to the wings. However, the species’ appearance is highly variable with some birds having far more white feathers than others. A buzzard’s beak is sharp and hooked and it has large feet with sharp talons. It has a wingspan of around 120cm and weighs up to 1kg.
Buzzards are opportunistic predators and can take a wide variety of prey. Small rodents such as voles and mice are commonly eaten, but they can also take prey as large as rabbits or as small as earthworms. They will also scavenge on road kill. This flexible diet allows the buzzard to survive in a variety of habitats.

When the tendrils are fresh they are flexible. As they dry, like those in the photo, they become rigid.
For the Macro Monday challenge "Flexible" (June 20th 2022)
My light plastic slinky in rainbow colours .. the biggest problem shooting it was keeping it from snapping back into shape!
Bright sunshine and a polished wooden table helped create the shadows.😊
A size guide shot is in the fist comment field.

Red-tailed Hawk is showing off the flexibility of its neck.

For today's theme, I wanted to use an extremely flexible object by choosing "Slinkies" which with their intrinsic movement of great flexibility and beauty are also capable of creating refraction of light and reflections in a kaleidoscope of colours.

The Cormorant is a family of medium-to-large aquatic birds found worldwide that are expert fishers known for their characteristic posture of standing with wings outstretched to dry.
Appearance:
Cormorants are generally large, dark-plumaged birds with a long, thick, and flexible neck, giving them a somewhat "prehistoric" or "reptilian" appearance. They have a long, thin bill that ends in a sharp hook, perfectly suited for catching fish. Most species have webbed feet with all four toes joined.
Size:
Size varies by species, but the Great Cormorant, a widespread species, typically measures 80-100 cm (31-39 in) in length with a wingspan of 130-160 cm (51-63 in).
Habitat and Distribution: They are highly adaptable and found in a wide variety of aquatic environments, including ocean coasts, estuaries, large rivers, and freshwater lakes and reservoirs across the world, except for the central Pacific islands.
Diet and Hunting: Cormorants are carnivorous, feeding primarily on fish, but also amphibians, crustaceans, and eels. They hunt by diving from the water's surface and propelling themselves underwater using their powerful webbed feet. They can dive to impressive depths, sometimes up to 45 meters (150 feet), and use their hooked bills to seize prey.
Unique Behaviors and Facts
Wing-Drying Posture:
One of the most recognizable cormorant behaviors is perching with their wings spread wide in the sun. This is because their feathers are not fully waterproof (which helps them reduce buoyancy for diving more efficiently), so they need to dry them afterwards.

The Long-Tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus) is a small, gregarious songbird found across Europe and Asia. Often described as a "flying lollipop" or "tiny ball of fluff," it is easily identified by its distinctive extraordinarily long tail, which accounts for over half its total length (up to 8–9 cm of its 14 cm body).
Key Identification & Physical Traits
Plumage:
A soft mix of white, black, and pink. Most individuals in Western Europe have a white head with broad black "eyebrows," pinkish-white bellies, and pink-dusted shoulders.
Northern Variation:
Subspecies in Northern Europe and Asia often have entirely pure white heads.
Weight:
They are incredibly light, often weighing just 7–10 grams—less than a £1 coin.
Scientific Note:
Despite their name, they are not closely related to the "true" tit family (Paridae, like Great or Blue Tits) but belong to the Aegithalidae family, more closely related to babblers.
Extraordinary Social Behavior
Communal Roosting:
Extremely vulnerable to cold, these birds form tight-knit family flocks of 6–30 individuals during winter. At night, they huddle together in a row on a branch to share body heat, which is essential for their survival.
Cooperative Breeding:
This species is famous for its "altruistic" behavior. If a breeding pair's own nest fails, they often do not try again but instead become "helpers" for a related pair, assisting in feeding and defending the other pair's chicks.
Constant Chattering:
They are highly vocal to maintain contact within their fast-moving flocks, using distinctive "tsee-tsee-tsee" and rattling "tsirrup" calls.
Master Architects: The Nest
The Long-tailed Tit builds one of the most complex nests in the bird world, often called an "avian architectural wonder":
Materials:
Both partners spend up to three weeks weaving together moss, lichen, and spider silk (specifically from egg cocoons).
Construction:
The spider silk acts like "natural Velcro," creating a flexible, dome-shaped sack that can expand as the chicks grow larger.
Insulation:
The interior is lined with an incredible number of feathers—sometimes over 2,000 for a single nest.
Camouflage:
The outside is decorated with lichen flakes to help the nest blend into the tree fork or thorny bush where it is hidden.
Habitat & Diet
Diet:
Primarily insectivorous, they specialize in eating the eggs and larvae of moths and butterflies. In winter, they increasingly visit garden feeders, showing a strong preference for suet balls and peanuts.
Habitat:
They favor deciduous and mixed woodlands with dense undergrowth, but they are also common in parks, hedgerows, and urban gardens.

I took this shot way back in 1996, in the village of Arpino (FR), the birthplace of Cicero. I used a special film for me the Kodak 160 GPX professional that no longer exists, using a Pentax K 1000, the usual tripod and flexible shutter. It was late autumn and I waited for the light of the sunset. This perspective shows the ancient village of the town where there is a pointed arch dating back to 3,000 BC. of Ernica construction, an ancient local and pre-Roman people. This shot reached the final of the Vittorio Bachelet prize going on display in the room that hosted the award ceremony and for me it was a great satisfaction because it was my first participation in this national photographic competition. Thank you all for any comments.
