Cheap TLR-style camera, made c1947 of black bakelite. Not in great shape, but interesting nonetheless because of the metal faceplate, with its alternating stripes of brushed and polished chrome. The striped chrome motif is repeated on the viewfinder cover. A look through the viewfinder can be seen in this photo.

I have seen the Super-Flex and the Metro-Flex both with and without the metal faceplate. Behind the faceplate, the bakelite has a pebbled texture. From what I've seen, it would appear that when the cameras were assembled without the faceplate, they used a plain (non-striped) viewfinder cover.

I used to have one of the original Lensbaby's, hated it... I loved the idea, but the lens was cheap, (I hate Holga's too...), the lack of adjustable apertures drove me nuts, and the lens was too wide for my tastes. Recently, I needed to shoot a series of very tight, stylized, macro shots of different types of graphics and computer equipment. My thoughts went back to that first lensbaby, and I decided to fix what I thought was wrong, and make my own. My homemade flexible focus lens is centered around the outstanding 100mm and 60mm Schneider Componon S lenses. I used a short length (measured at minimum compression of the for infinity focus of the 100mm lens) of vacum cleaner hose, and an old Nikon extension tube with a Canon adapter. I cobled them all together, and Voila! The result is a very flexible, very sharp (where I want it to be...) and easy to use lens that will focus from infinity to about 2 feet. This little lens is much easier to use than my 4x5 view camera, though not nearly as precise, but lot's of fun!
