For Macro Mondays "Flexible" Theme. Lit with a light table turned on end, an overhead 5000 degree light and a bit of natural light coming through a north window. Background is out of focus junk on my work table.
The pipe is about 7/8" across and a little over 2" long.

Spent the last couple days with my buddy. Things haven't quite picked up yet so I went to my go to Gray Ghost. I was finally able to get some amazing sequences of poses that I lacked. Had to add a hair of canvas on top for this one. I have better poses to come. Click for large view.

Die 145 088 hat bereits ein abwechslungsreiches Einsatzleben hinter sich und wurde von verschiedenen Eignern genutzt. Im Jahr 2000 wurde sie an die Schweizer Mittelthurgaubahn geliefert. Schon zwei Jahre später wurde sie an die SBB Cargo verkauft. Danach gab es Zwischenstationen im Lokpool von MRCE und bei SRI. In 2024 fand sie bei der Firma Flex Bahndienstleistungen eine neue Heimat. Dabei erhielt 145 088 auch einen attraktiven Neulack, das Design wurde von Railcolor gestaltet. Dieses ist in meinen Augen durchaus gelungen, die Traxx-Maschine wirkt dadurch moderner und läßt ihr tatsächliches Alter nicht vermuten. Am 31. August 2024 konnte ich besagte Lokomotive bei Meisenbach im osthessischen Haunetal vor einem Autotransportzug nach Nürnberg aufnehmen. Ladegut waren BMWs aus dem US-amerikanischen Werk Spartanburg, die für europäische Kunden bestimmt sind.
The 145 088 has already had a varied service life and has been used by various owners. It was delivered to the Swiss Mittelthurgaubahn railway in 2000. Just two years later, it was sold to SBB Cargo. It then spent time in the MRCE locomotive pool and at SRI. In 2024, it found a new home with the company Flex Bahndienstleistungen. In the process, 145 088 was also given an attractive new livery, with the design created by Railcolor. In my opinion, this is quite attractive, making the Traxx locomotive look more modern and not giving away its actual age. On 31 August 2024, I was able to photograph this locomotive near Meisenbach in Haunetal in eastern Hesse in front of a car transport train to Nuremberg. The load consisted of BMWs from the US plant in Spartanburg, which were destined for European customers.
Let’s hear it for Welsh poppies, so easy and so generous. Just watch one in flower. There’s the long oval bud, hanging its head on a neck so wobbly that it might be broken; then it hoists itself to the horizontal and the green bud scales are pushed forward and split like a four-piece nose cone, while behind them the yellow petals flex their muscles. Now the nose cone pops and the head opens, sometimes with four petals, sometimes more, leaning to the sun; and at its centre the seed pod is three-quarters formed and surrounded by a boss of golden stamens. A wonderful sight in all its stages of development. :-)
