"Purpurroter Cousinot" ist eine alte Apfelsorte, deren genauer Ursprung nicht mehr bekannt ist. Aufgrund seiner intensiv roten Farbe wurde er als Weihnachtsbaumschmuck verwendet.
"Purple Cousinot" is an old apple variety whose exact origin is no longer known. Due to its intense red color, it was used as a Christmas tree decoration.

Yummy focaccia with cherry tomatoes, olives and fresh rosemary served with sour cream and iced lemon tea
Took advantage of the nice light in the living room while dinner was in the oven for a quick still life shot.
I wasn't sure about it while I was shooting but seeing it on the bigger screen, I think I like the way it turned out.
Simple and elegant.

A bit sad, but I decided to sort through all the bottle tops I'd been chucking in a jar over the last few years. Only the unique ones here.
It's Brown Eyed Susan season and I never miss a chance to photograph them. However, for this challenge I decided to crop most of them away and add some watercolor petals to the mix. Hopefully they blend enough that you have to take a second look to find them!

Apparently, June 19th, (known as Juneteenth) is the day that slavery was finally ended in the USA when the last slaves were freed in Texas at the very end of the civil war. I recently bought these keys in a flea market, had a blood red ribbon and a rusty texture shot in Bristol Harbour - and had this 19th century British history book with a whole section (of questionable academic accuracy) on the American Civil War. Thought it was timely to put them together in this 'symbolic' flatlay still life. It won't be everyone's cup of tea...but anything to celebrate the end of slavery and oppression has to be ok with me. Now I won't be happy until we can celebrate the liberation of Ukraine...

It's been a long, slow cold spring, here in the UK. The hawthorn / may blossom won't be out for a good couple of weeks yet but there are plenty of other Spring flowers in bloom.

CC Week 43 Food and Beverage
Originally I planned on finding a panaderia here in California like the ones in Mexico that bake all kinds of goodies. I was going to use a metal tray and tongs to pick out various breads and pastries, but I was thwarted in my plan. First, there was no self serve, possibly due to COVID changing so many things. Everything was behind glass, and your order was picked up by tongs and put directly in a bag. Also, they only accept cash, so I could only afford two churros as I had very little money with me. Consequently, I had a nice treat, but no photo of a variety of baked goods on a tray.
As information, this photo was taken inside my vehicle, which is as far as these churros went, as I soon gobbled them up and was on my way to do errands.
I bought a heap of colour pencils which I will give to my great-granddaughter for her colour-in books. If I draw or write I use a lead pencil.....
ANSH 125 - 19. stationery or art equipment
I baked two apple pies today. One to try for our dessert tonight (to see if it tasted good!) and one to take to our Thanksgiving dinner #1 tomorrow with my in-laws. I was first asked to bake a pumpkin pie but my niece is bringing that one instead. I don't normally bake pies because I have never given myself much practice over the years. Cakes are so much easier and are more of a dessert preference to me. I made the crust a little thicker than I would have liked but it seemed to work out well because it holds all the cinnamony apple goodness together when you go and serve it on a plate. To my surprise they didn't burn and turned out well. I'd say that is a big win for me! :D
