My contribution for this week's theme «morning»; for the Swedish photo group Fotosondag.

Compositionally Challenged Week 50 - Hygge

Hygge is about taking time away from the daily rush to be with loved ones or enjoying life's quieter pleasures by yourself. It is about comfort, coziness, contentment. Our challenge this week is to capture what Hygge means to us.

Pretty music and flowers while I'm having my morning coffee always makes me feel comfy cozy. : )

Flat Lay Table Top

Das klassische "Pillendrehen" ist schon lange obsolet. Die alten Rezepturen und Gerätschaften finde ich nach wie vor faszinierend!

Fotosöndag - Flat lay

I am prepping to make some Energy Balls. They will be made with natural peanut butter, oats, coconut, flax seeds, honey, vanilla and some mini chocolate chips. I am on a bit of a health food kick lately so I have been on the lookout for healthy snacks because I get hungry...hungry like a bear! :)

Flatlay still life shot on a light pad. Another ongoing lockdown photography project.

A bit of macro knolling for the Macro Mondays Group, topic, Knolling.

I love knolling and flat-lay photography but I still have a long way to go before I feel competent at the process, especially on a small scale such as this. Turns out that my hands are not as steady as they once were and tubular things tend to roll. Long story short this was a challenge for me and it shows in the results.

There are many things that bring or give us joy. Today I am happy for my daughter's joy because she passed her drivers test. She was a little bit nervous as she is a perfectionist and did not want to fail. This kid is not a failure at anything. We celebrated her success with spending the rest of the day together with lunch out and shopping at the mall. Spending time like this together with her brings me joy because it is so rare. She is growing up so fast and life for her is getting busier and busier with her school work, job, socializing with her friends, etc. I used to tease her about me being her own personal Uber driver and driving her here, there and everywhere. That routine will now change and I am not too sad about it because I am happy for her joy. I remember when I was 16 and passing my own drivers test. Hard to believe it was so long ago because it still feels like it was yesterday. Slow down time, please....

Three pull rings are sometimes better then balloons when you have an imagination :D

The visual recipe of the 3 essential powders of South Indian cooking -- Rasam powder on the left, sambar powder on the right, curry powder at the top.

The red chilies and coriander seeds are common ingredients in all 3 powders.

Mi color es...

De pequeña mi color era el amarillo. Ahora he ampliado la gama... Me gusta mucho el negro y el blanco para vestir.

Los tonos pastel para la decoración de interiores y me gusta identificar cada estación del año con un color.

Sin duda alguna, el marrón es el tono de mi otoño.

A flatlay still life. Coloured pencils shot on a light pad - then repeated/mirrored and added a little twist at the end. Devised after watching last night's 'lockdown' news on the BBC - which didn't sound that positive to me.

High Key flatlay still life of forget me not - shot on a light pad. Heavily influenced by the work of Mandy Disher.

May your days be merry and bright.

Alguien a quien amo.

Es difícil escoger a un solo personaje, así que he recopilado unas cuantas fotos de hace dos o tres años atrás. Claro que aun siguen faltando...

Another detail from my recent mooch along the Bristol Docks Railway after a hard hoar frost.

I confess that I was originally confused about what this subject referred to. I'm glad I looked it up.

It was the big Sephora sale this week, and here is a part of my haul. I love make-up, self-care is so rewarding!

This afternoon I made 2 paper buntings from the pages of an old music sheet book... I'll hang them on the walls of our charity sale room... I'm one of the cashiers the day of the sale...

Here you have my contribution to this week's theme #flatlay for the Swedish flickr group Photo Sunday.

I baked two apple pies today. One to try for our dessert tonight (to see if it tasted good!) and one to take to our Thanksgiving dinner #1 tomorrow with my in-laws. I was first asked to bake a pumpkin pie but my niece is bringing that one instead. I don't normally bake pies because I have never given myself much practice over the years. Cakes are so much easier and are more of a dessert preference to me. I made the crust a little thicker than I would have liked but it seemed to work out well because it holds all the cinnamony apple goodness together when you go and serve it on a plate. To my surprise they didn't burn and turned out well. I'd say that is a big win for me! :D

I hope you all have a great weekend!
