For Saturday March 11, 2023.

I made my grandson some breakfast pastries. He absolutely loved them so I thought they deserved to appear in a photo. I was so busy checking that the book and the lines on the table were straight that I hadn't noticed that I'd knocked the fork slightly and got the end out of the frame...until after I'd cleared everything away. I didn't have time to set it all up again. Anyway, I figured the pastries and my lovely new mug and plate were the stars of the show so no one will notice ;)

With back-to-back birthdays, this lavish 15 layer Smith Island cake served us well.

This last pic I tried a more artistic approach to the flat lay. I lighted from the top right of the image and used a reflector on the shadow side. I moved the reflector closer to eliminate more of the shadows. Photo is straight out from camera. :)

The results of this morning's work, malted soda bread and sweet potato and red lentil soup.

Mitt bidrag till Fotosöndag och veckans tema «morgon».

My contribution for this week's theme «morning»; for the Swedish photo group Fotosondag.

A little bored and having a craving for homemade cookies (rather than store bought Oreo's...see yesterdays photo lol) I decided to turn to Pinterest for something a little different than Peanut Butter or Chocolate Chip. I came across a recipe for Brown Butter Cinnamon Crinkle Cookies. As I type this I have the dough chillin' in the fridge for about an hour. I will get back to baking them soon and I hope they turn out well. I have decided to post the prep photo today and the finished photo tomorrow...that is if they turn out alright and are delicious. We will see. Tune back in tomorrow. ;-)

I am prepping to make some Energy Balls. They will be made with natural peanut butter, oats, coconut, flax seeds, honey, vanilla and some mini chocolate chips. I am on a bit of a health food kick lately so I have been on the lookout for healthy snacks because I get hungry...hungry like a bear! :)

A bit of macro knolling for the Macro Mondays Group, topic, Knolling.

I love knolling and flat-lay photography but I still have a long way to go before I feel competent at the process, especially on a small scale such as this. Turns out that my hands are not as steady as they once were and tubular things tend to roll. Long story short this was a challenge for me and it shows in the results.
