Thank you in advance for your views, comments, and faves. They are much appreciated!
Working on a little Easter lamb and trying to figure out how many French knots it takes before you go blind or insane! Hint: It's about this many!

My flowers are starting to die but they still present a photo opportunity. I was going to use a white background but thought I'd try this aqua one instead so instead of going back to the drawing board I added a white border to give it a cleaner, fresher look, and a texture courtesy of Kerstin Frank www.flickr.com/photos/kerstinfrank-design/6667355199/in/a...
Thank you for your continued support, comments and favourites...I really appreciate them and I am slowly catching up with commenting.

The dahlia head was laying on the grass so it seemed a shame to let it go to waste.
I am so behind with commenting after having been in France for a week and then my sister was staying with us for a week. We are going to be away for the weekend...probably with no internet. I will try to catch up when back.

This Blythe doll is Sweet Bubbly Bear wearing her stock outfit (plus a hat by an unknown maker) for the theme “Skateboard” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
253/365: I found these berries while on my camera club outing yesterday so they came home with me for a photo. You never know, they may make another appearance.
I must apologise again for being so bad at commenting, life is just so busy right now.
Saturday Self Challenge: Knolling (flat lay)
52 in 2024: Looking down
All of the wildflowers above were found just around our campsite in one of the more remote areas National Parks of Australia. Spring has bought out vast displays of such beauties, spreading along the roadsides and over the plains. In this case they are arranged on the red earth, typical of many inland areas,
Knolling however is not really my strength as I lack the patience to get things straight,, and in this case I was assisted by swarms of flies on my legs, arms and around my face! We wore head-nets to keep the worst of them out of our eyes - not glamorous but it does help.
Anyway, enjoy the flowers and I plan on posting some additional wild-flower photos over the next week.
This was for another photo challenge - we were supposed to tell a little about ourselves in the flatlay
40/52: The Weekly Challenge - Diptych: Take two shots of the same thing - one the big picture and one close up and put them together in a diptych.
I struggle with doing a diptych so am not comfortable with it. I'm late posting it too as I was holding out to try for something better. I'm sure there must be an easier way and a way to somehow resize. I know what I want to achieve (this isn't it) but don't know how to get there! Struggling to keep up with challenges as it's such a busy year. Desperately behind with comments too...sorry!
So, my word for this year was CREATE. I think I've been doing pretty well so far, but a friend of mine has invited me to join her on a journey of learning hand lettering! There is so much more involved than I thought. Which is the correct writing implement? Should I draw in pencil first and then erase the errant lines after the ink is done? What paper is best - is it smooth enough, do I need lines or grids or just plain? How much design is too much? Or not enough? I think you get the idea! But I'm totally hooked and can't wait to find ways to put it to practical use!
I only heard of knolling last year from one of the themed groups I am in.
I enjoyed it but have only done a couple of photos with it so I tried again with some stationary .
I am also going to try making use of my other lenses as I favour my macro a lot...success today!
35/365: Still playing with flat lays and this is the last day of the still life theme in the 365...not that will make much difference to me as that is mostly what I do. Continuing with the tea/cup theme...I just love getting the most out of my props...just as long as you don't mind seeing them!
M&S Food from the chilled cabinet. Buttermilk marinaded chicken breast, baby chestnut mushrooms, red onions, outdoor bred bacon, served in a creamy white wine sauce. We added veg and potato chips (fries). We cooked the chicken etc in the oven, veg nuked in the micro wave and chips cooked in an air fryer.
Airbrushed the spots off the tray in this shot for a less complicated background.

These are just a few of the fridge magnets I've collected over the years. Stu and I have travelled to some very cool and interesting places. These are but a few of them.
The UFO Museum in Roswell, NM is quite interesting. They have great stories, photos and statues of Aliens. There is one section dedicated to "The Alien Autopsy." I'm sure you remember that one It is well worth visiting this place.
I lived in Albuquerque, NM for 15 years and it was quite interesting living in a city of 1/2 million. The Sandia Mountains, which are over 10,000 feet high are at the end of the Rocky Mountain Range sits to the east of the city and are worth a cable car trip to the top. You can see a very long way from up there. They have a great ski slope, a hiking trail and a good restaurant in case you're hungry!
Chaco Canyon is a fascinating place with such a rich cultural history. They have a small Observatory there and we got to see a star going "Supernova" through one of their telescopes. It was something I shall never forget.
We travelled through Oklahoma when we moved to New York State. I have never experienced winds as I did there. They were so strong I couldn't get out of the Jeep to pump gas, I would have been knocked down and rolled along the pavement.
We hiked the John Muir Trail In California and got to see the giant Redwood trees. They had been in a fire and you could see the burn marks 1/2 way up their huge trunks. The trees survived because of their size and height. It was incredible, to say the least.
When Stu lived in Arizona he spent time with his friend Ed in the Sonoran Desert. He said it's a sacred place and was in awe of the huge Saguaro Cactus that inhabit the region.
Happy Halloween to all my friends! —Love, the Grim Reaper
This masked Blythe doll is Plaid Parade, posing for the theme “Reaper” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. She made her mask and scythe quickly and easily from paper, cardboard, foil, and a stick—isn’t she crafty?! She’s wearing Milky Way Sugar’s stock dress and Daunting Drusilla’s tights.

Up-cycled from the theme 'Balloons' from the Blythe a Day October 2017 group hosted by Lyndell. This was one of my favourite pictures even though I was not particularly happy with the lighting challenges of the flat lay process. At the time I didn't have access to photo manipulation software to fix the shadows cast on the sky. It was this prompt along with my spur of the moment prisoner costume for Scar that inspired the story of The Great Escape, my ongoing soap opera.
A quick "hello" to all my Flickr friends... very busy presently with volunteering, crafting, baking, inviting friends... but no time for photography!
Hoping each of you is doing fine and preparing Christmas with a cheerful spirit...
My most used hoop again with all the other purple things I forgot to put in the first one. I didn't realise I had so much purple!
This hoop flatlay series started with a challenge from Deanne Love on Instagram:
'Grab your fav hoop, put on some cool tunes, then GO! Collect as many things in your house that match your hoop 😊 Make some circle art, take a flatlay pic and share it
It has really taken off on Instagram myfavhoop with many people (including me) doing it with more than one hoop. There are now more than 500 photos created for Deanne's challenge.
A little bit of fun during lockdown.
My word for 2025 was "create". So far I've been continuing my adventures with watercolor as well as learning to do "doodle art" and lately I've been trying my hand at "hand lettering". They are all works in progress and each one has a different feel, but I've really enjoyed trying new things and creating art! This flat lay has samples of each style as well as the tools I use to create them.
