Getting ready to make dinner and thought of challage for Smile on Saturday. So of course grabbed my camera and shot away.

Thank you in advance for your comments and faves.

Still Life Flat Lay Peas and vine

A deconstructed Crane's Bill (Geranium Sanguineum) from bud to blossom. A super prolific flower that spreads and blossoms all summer and fall. One of my favorites!

I'm always trying to learn new ways to compose my photos to make them unique and stand out. Sometimes it works, sometimes I'm pencil #3. 😉

Cada día me gusta más hacer fotografía de flores...

I am having so much fun doing these hoop flatlays - and I keep remembering items I haven'y included, the perfect excuse to do another one.

"Fern was up at daylight, trying to rid the world of injustice. As a result, she now has a pig. A small one to be sure, but nevertheless a pig. It just shows what can happen if a person gets out of bed promptly." ~ from Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White

This Middie Blythe doll is Yellow Marshmallow. The background is a jigsaw puzzle. This picture is for the theme “Fern” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. Charlotte’s Web was one of my favorite books as a child.

Mum was an Avon lady for many years, so we shouldn't be surprised to find her old case, with masses of samples, along with cosmetics she used herself.

Perhaps the surprise is to find one or two items from other manufacturers!!!

Happy Smile on Saturday!

Floral flatly with a hint of Easter. I received a couple of beautiful bouquets recently, and am always sad when they only last a few days, so this is my attempt to enjoy them a bit longer.

Up-cycled from the theme 'Balloons' from the Blythe a Day October 2017 group hosted by Lyndell. This was one of my favourite pictures even though I was not particularly happy with the lighting challenges of the flat lay process. At the time I didn't have access to photo manipulation software to fix the shadows cast on the sky. It was this prompt along with my spur of the moment prisoner costume for Scar that inspired the story of The Great Escape, my ongoing soap opera.

A followup from yesterday's upload. This time creating a COMPOSITE combining a mobile selfie of yours truly with a mobile capture of my coke bottles flatlay AND replacing the original black background with a mobile capture of the view from my living room.

Ready for new adventures

Part of the 52 Weeks of 2018

Week 10

Theme: Addicted

Much of my life has been driven by music in so way and although it has decreased as life has taken over, it's still there. An ever present love of making and enjoying music.

The 3 CDs represent different styles of music I love, and I have seen two of the three artists play live.

Minimalism in a Moment

Contemplating this week’s photo challenge theme, “Minimalism,” I found myself at my desk, lost on thought. The concept felt deceptively simple yet deeply complex—a balance between saying more with less. I stared at the blank notepad in front of me, jotting down fleeting ideas, none of which seemed quite right.

Then, as my thoughts wandered, the fountain pen in my hand caught my eye. Its clean, elegant lines and the simplicity of its function suddenly resonated. It wasn’t just a tool—it was the perfect embodiment of minimalism: form meeting function with no excess, no distractions. Inspiration struck, and I knew exactly how to approach the challenge. Sometimes, the answer is already in your hand—you just need to pause long enough to see it.

The weather is hot but the water is cool, so grab a float and jump into the pool!

This Blythe doll is Simply Guava for “Summertime” on Facebook. Her cute bikini is from Junie Moon.

All good things must come to an end…and so we say goodbye to this month of apple pictures. It was fun, but I am glad to be moving on to my favorite season: Christmas!!

This Blythe doll is Donna Donut, posing with most of my apple props in a flat lay.

My first hoop, bought on impulse after seeing a demo at our local fete. My husband thought it was a five minute wonder but I am still hooping nearly eight years later.

This hoop flatlay series started with a challenge from Deanne Love on Instagram:

'Grab your fav hoop, put on some cool tunes, then GO! Collect as many things in your house that match your hoop 😊 Make some circle art, take a flatlay pic and share it

It has really taken off on Instagram myfavhoop with many people (including me) doing it with more than one hoop. There are now more than 500 photos created for Deanne's challenge.

A little bit of fun during lockdown.

Siena (and her little sister, Bessie) are my dogs. Siena is a Golden Retriever, Border Collie Mix that is in fact Siena in color. However, she isn't named after that. Her entire litter were all named after places around the world and she was named after Siena, Italy and then became the color later on in life. (Bessie was named that because she is splotched like a cow...somewhat less of an interesting story)

This week I've been practicing blending with watercolors and trying to channel some spring vibes! I have been inspired by a watercolor artist I happened upon on IG and I've tried to recreate a few of her paintings. I am really loving the loose painting style with the blended colors. She doesn't use ink outlines, but my paintings never have definition unless I add ink...so ink it is for me!
