Creating something out of the remainder of a beautiful bouquet, now past its prime.

"Wherever I fly from my own dear nest, I always come back, for home is the best." ~ Maud Lindsay

This Blythe doll is Blue Rabbit, posing for the theme “Nest” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. My daughter painted the nest in the center. I made the dress. The headband came to me as part of a craft swap.

52 week challenge - 20:52 Shot from above

I made this image in 2016 when I was practicing still life images. This image is inspired by Elizabeth Au Petite Gout. Her work is exceptional and in my humble opinion the best I've seen. Her vision for color and styling is beyond one's imagination. Thank you, Elizabeth for your beautiful work, I am a huge fan!

Thank you for your visits! Be well and have a lovely weekend.

Week 7: Intentional Colour Palette

I wanted to get a bright punch of colour in my submission this week. Anybody need a lime for their mojito?

still ife duck eggs-getting the hang of this flat lay--fun---

My contribution to this weeks theme "Flat lay" in the photogroup Fotosöndag.

A bouquet of flowers on a manuscript, scissors and a coil of rope over an old wooden table

Contains forbidden sugar, soy and palm oils, corn syrup, artificial colors, etc. It all makes for some unspeakably desirable tastes, but they are so bad for you! (This is the first bag of candy I have purchased in forever, and now I have to try and not eat them!!! HELP!!!)

Phlox and Mel put the finishing touches on the flat lay project for their Monster High art class.

Intrigued by the flat lay look.

This was a bugger of an image to capture. I think I took about 60 fames before I got the one I was happy with 😂.

Pretty pansies on old paper written in pencil ...

Photo taken last year,

already been 'knolling' back then :-)

Flatlay still life - another in my ongoing 'Boxed Botanicals' series. The texture around the edge is made up from two images - one of an icy puddle and the other of a metal advertsiing hoarding.

Preparing the build.

A whimisical piece of pop art created from a single shot of the translucent coloured plastic spoon that came with my partner's ice cream tub on a day out.The spoon was shot 'backlit' from above on a light pad and then reproduced and recoloured several times in Photoshop.

I scoured the doll room to find all the veggies for Blue Rabbit to befriend. The big broccoli and carrot are baby rattles; the little pea pod and parsnip in her arms came from Violetpi on Etsy. For the theme “Vegetables” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Hygge in a flat lay.

Active Assignment Weekly: Be square.

What it took: Different arrangements, different angles, different editing, just had to play around with it. Cropped square in post. My camera doesn't allow ratio changes before taking a photo, so it was difficult to visualise what the end result would look like in a square format when I was taking my photos. I used items I already had at home. The full-size photo also had chocolate squares in it, but they got cropped out. I used the back of a baking tray because of the texture of it, I put the tray next to the balcony door, but the light was poor. I also used a reflector to help bring some light into the scene. It's winter. What can you do. Lol. I didn't use my tripod because there wasn't enough space to put it in that area. So I upped the ISO as high as I dared. Edited in Lightroom.
