For the weekly/monthly challenge - Flat lay still life
29/100: 100 x challenge - Flowers
29/100: 100 Flowers 2020
It's strange, I love doing flat lays but when I have to do one for a challenge it suddenly becomes difficult.
This is a birthday card I made for a very dear friend, we don't see each other often but when we do it's like we saw each other the day before. I got the inspiration for the card from a flat lay I did a couple of weeks ago. So thought I would do another flat lay incorporating the card...it's come full circle. The flowers are from my flower delivery last week. They had to make an appearance for the flower challenges. There are also bits from my craft stash...and I wrote the greeting using my recently learned brush stroke lettering...I keep meaning to practise more.
Sending you blue skies and sunshine!
This Blythe doll is Float Away Dream, posing for the theme “Sunshine” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The sun is made of construction paper. Dress by WoollyRockers on Etsy.
The chive flowers were laying on the ground after the heavy rains of the night, so I picked them up and made a few shots...
A change of lens for this flat lay. I have always used the Canon 5D and Velvet 56 for my Lensbaby flat lays but I have a new tripod with an arm to hopefully make flat lays easier (we shall see). I used the Canon R6 and the LB composer pro II with double glass II optic. Not sure if it looks a bit flat (no pun intended) but I really like the blur around the edges.
16/31: October 2019: A month in 31 pictures
These lisianthus have lasted really well but are on their way out now...I salvaged a few for a pic today.
I'm really struggling to stay in the game, just hope I can keep going for the next couple of weeks. Once again I apologise for being so behind in commenting.
Sycamore seeds shot on a light pad - background shot in my garden with light reflecting off a bush to create bokeh effect.
Nothing too fancy today; figured a quick flat lay with some scrabble tiles would do the trick after a fairly long day of working in Excel, plus it was a good excuse to make myself a cup of tea!
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

I changed my 3rd entry for the online 'Photographic Weekly Competition' ... ( 'Life in Miniature'), and added this variation instead.
The 'Tablespoon' is approximately 80 years old, while the tiny 'Salt Spoon' was purchased only last week !

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter, I hope you all had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the day.
Ontario is back in lockdown so it was a quiet Easter for us, but we were able to spend some time outside and enjoy the warmth and sunshine, so all in all, it was pretty enjoyable day.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Hobbies.
Pues sí, tengo dos hobbies, la fotografía y la repostería creativa.
Claro que últimamente los tengo bastante abandonados y es que me escasea el tiempo libre.

Our favorite party is our birthday party!
These Blythe dolls are Simply Mango and Simply Guava for “Party” on Facebook. I think of these two as twins, sharing a birthday. Flat lays are always fun to do!

...this is what you get! Our old Lumix died a few years back and recently Rod decided to take this lens apart to see what was inside... Here it is!
We still have half a basket of cherries in the fridge from when we went cherry picking a couple of weeks ago. They kept well, but I did need to sort through them and pick out a few that had turned moldy and throw them out before they made the rest of them bad too.
Have a happy day, everyone!
This gorgeous Blythe doll is Lavendula Babe, thinking about a few of her favorite things.
Another shot using the Orange Hawkweed aka Devil's Paintbrush aka Fox and Cubs (so called because new buds form behind the top flower as if they are cubs being protected by the mother vixen). This is the weed that's taking over my lawn. Here the flowers have been dried/pressed and then shot as a flatlay on a light pad.
I sanded down and oiled my photography table top to get rid of several Beer bottle stains (!!!) So it was time for an image. Here's some wooden props I have laying around in a box !
(I've deliberately reduced the DPI / quality)
I have been overrun by paper wasps so today was an unexpected neighbourhood effort as we worked to remove the nests from the eavestrough and the side mirrors of my car.
Thankfully my immediate neighbour claims he's immune to wasps and was happy to remove the nests while I sprayed the RAID. Generally I prefer to annoy pests into relocating rather than full on destruction, but this situation called for extreme measures.
I think we got them all, but we'll keep an eye out for the next few days.
Oh, and I think my neighbour is right about being immune... three nests destroyed and not one sting for any involved.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

November is a busy month for birthday's in my world, so I figured why not make use of one of the gifts for a quick photo just before handing it over.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

I was asked what I’m carrying in my camera bag this week. It does tend to vary from week to week and depending on the project. This week my go-to bag is shown here.
