The Remington 12: Journalism’s Workhorse of the 1920s
In the dimly lit Toronto Star newsroom of the 1920s, the Remington 12 desktop typewriter reigned supreme. A rather random collection of stuff. I bought this mug the other day, I was drawn to the shape but I also love the colour which is why I left it empty. My daughter-in law lent me this book a while ago, I haven't got around to reading it yet but it went well with the mug. I've been wanting to use the little wooden spoon in a pic for a while. I scrounged the hydrangea from my neighbour...I was admiring it so she cut it for me, it's drying nicely. I added the starfish for good measure...they are from my recent trip to Lanzarote.
We are passionate about bringing a relaxed approach while creating beautiful, natural and vibrant images.
Playing around with colors and leftover donuts. I might have to keep these around for a few more days to experiment with for food photography practice.
This may not be the most seasonal dessert but it's my son's favourite and that is a good enough reason for me to make it.

16/31: October 2019: A month in 31 pictures
These lisianthus have lasted really well but are on their way out now...I salvaged a few for a pic today.
I'm really struggling to stay in the game, just hope I can keep going for the next couple of weeks. Once again I apologise for being so behind in commenting.
Have joined a group that "Practices Random Acts of Kindness and Senseless Beauty". It's a rock painting group and we get together paint rocks, and put them in public places for people to find.
One of a number of images I have been putting together with items shot in a box or frame - this time in a shallow box I made myself and roughly and rustically painted. The Meadow Brown butterfly was shot on a flower along the Ridgeway in Wiltshire about a year ago. I am grateful to Stan Farrow FRPS - and his seemingly endless creativity - for the inspiration.

This is the flat lay I made when photographing my tulips on Sunday. I always like to get the most from tulips, or any flowers. There could be more to come as they haven't totally fallen apart yet and I love the way the colour deepens as they dry out.
October 2023: A month in 31 pictures
We took this wreath down from our living room wall as we are decorating. I thought ahah, I could use that in a flat lay. I popped some little rosebuds, that I dried, in it for a little splash of colour. And gave Elizabeth (I assume that is Elizabeth Bennet) a little rosebud to hold. The flowers bottom right are my daughter-in-law's bridesmaid bouquet from a few years ago.
Penultimate day of the October challenge, not sure whether to feel happy or sad.

It's strange, I love doing flat lays but when I have to do one for a challenge it suddenly becomes difficult.
This is a birthday card I made for a very dear friend, we don't see each other often but when we do it's like we saw each other the day before. I got the inspiration for the card from a flat lay I did a couple of weeks ago. So thought I would do another flat lay incorporating the card...it's come full circle. The flowers are from my flower delivery last week. They had to make an appearance for the flower challenges. There are also bits from my craft stash...and I wrote the greeting using my recently learned brush stroke lettering...I keep meaning to practise more.

Claro que últimamente los tengo bastante abandonados y es que me escasea el tiempo libre.

I changed my 3rd entry for the online 'Photographic Weekly Competition' ... ( 'Life in Miniature'), and added this variation instead.
The 'Tablespoon' is approximately 80 years old, while the tiny 'Salt Spoon' was purchased only last week !
