Did you miss it? I did! Yesterday was National Strawberry Day! But I have some in the refrigerator, so that counts, right? My favorite fruit by far...strawberry shortcake...yummmm

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

Since Kate was out this afternoon, I made myself lunch including my favorite pre-cooked meat product. It was the perfect opportunity, since she's not a big fan.
As I was plating my repast, I was nervous about the juice from the beans touching the eggs (yeah, a little OCD), until I had the brilliant idea of putting the Spam between them.
Later, after I picked her up, I told Kate about my culinary genius and Kate immediately said, "a Spam dam."
This is why we've been married for 41 years. ;-)

A quick Sunday still life, I didn't have too much of a theme other than 'lazy Sunday', but I do like the way this turned out.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

My grandmother's tin box full of old buttons was one of the great objects of delight in my childhood. And now I have my own. (When it is not being photographed it is a lot fuller than this!)

Day 82/365:
Oh look, another flat lay. I can't seem to move on from my flat lay phase...it's all about staying in the game though.
It's cold and threatening to rain here today, so I decided to avoid layering up and stuck in the house today, which meant it was either another photo of Fyero (she declined to pose) or another coffee and leaf flat lay.
I should probably set up a series or albums for these photos, I feel like I'm always falling back on coffee and leaves.
Side note - is the 'new and improved' (how can something be new and improved? Isn't it either new or it's improved?? Sorry, mini rant done.) notifications page acting wonky for anyone else? It's telling me I have no new notifications, and yet there's comments and activities on my photos. I've noticed I'm missing a lot of notifications with the new method, just wondering if I'm alone in this madness.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

In between meetings today I figured I may well set up a quick still life for today's shot. No real theme again, just stuff I had nearby and a couple cookies leftover from the batch Dad shared with me over the weekend.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Let's go with something simple today, but something that fills the frame at the same time.
This old dictionary has been around for a long time, years ago they were throwing it out at work because it was falling apart but I though Scott might like it for his origami, turns out it doesn't quite work for folding, but it does work for photography so this broken book still has some life left in it.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

It's my final day for orange. II ran out of time to find anything too exciting so I rummaged around in the pantry for some ideas. I have used smoked paprika, turmeric, curry powder, Berbere, cayenne pepper, Salmar seasoning, and fenungreek.
Challenge: Triangular Composition. I used cardstock, buttons and complimentary colors to create this flatlay. Have a great week!
It was my book group Christmas meal last night. We all buy a book for the Secret Santa, this is my offering. I had another practise at brush stroke lettering on the tag which I thought would be nice to use as a bookmark. I hand stamped the wrapping paper as I am very aware that we need to use paper that is recyclable. I have also started using brown paper tape.
It looks like Christmas has begun so I thought it was probably okay to start with the Christmas photos! It was also a chance to show my new gold star ornament.
Our office’s current photo contest theme is flat lay photography. I practiced flat lays and still life on some cranberries over the Thanksgiving holiday. Had never done this before and honestly, the composition and design intimidated me a bit. Was great fun though and hope to do it again before the end of December. Learned a lot!
