Our office’s current photo contest theme is flat lay photography. I practiced flat lays and still life on some cranberries over the Thanksgiving holiday. Had never done this before and honestly, the composition and design intimidated me a bit. Was great fun though and hope to do it again before the end of December. Learned a lot!
My grandmother's tin box full of old buttons was one of the great objects of delight in my childhood. And now I have my own. (When it is not being photographed it is a lot fuller than this!)
For those of you that were interested, this goes with the previous image. Oh, and I ate a few of these pill-sized cassette tape candies after taking the photo, and they are just the right amount of sweet. ;) I’m sorry that I can’t share them with you!

Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end?
Her fall has not come to an end, but the month of Alice has. Inexplicably, my final photo is of Alice at the beginning of her story! I just go where my inspiration leads me. This Blythe doll is Fani Flamingo for “Alice” on Facebook. This picture is a chalkboard flat lay.
Now, into August we go, full of excitement for the double theme “Summertime/Back to School”! See you tomorrow!

14/31: October 2022: A month in 31 pictures
I picked this book up while on my walk yesterday. We have an old telephone box in our village that has been repurposed as a library. I saw this classic and couldn't resist. The writing is very small so I may struggle to read it but it's proved useful already....with my other new photo board.

Playing around with colors and leftover donuts. I might have to keep these around for a few more days to experiment with for food photography practice.
I set out my silver tea accessories on a blue table runner for a flat lay challenge. The bird is a tea bag press, then the cream and sugar, the cup and saucer, and teapot and trivet.
11/31:October 2019: A month in 31 pictures
After not drinking coffee for over thirty years, I recently discovered I really quite like it. So I bought a Nespresso coffee machine and love it. For those of you who don't get the title, George Clooney advertises Nespresso.
It was my book group Christmas meal last night. We all buy a book for the Secret Santa, this is my offering. I had another practise at brush stroke lettering on the tag which I thought would be nice to use as a bookmark. I hand stamped the wrapping paper as I am very aware that we need to use paper that is recyclable. I have also started using brown paper tape.
It looks like Christmas has begun so I thought it was probably okay to start with the Christmas photos! It was also a chance to show my new gold star ornament.

The round black bowl is tipped on its side, hence the strawberries are spilling out. But the overhead shot makes it look straight, giving an illusion of the strawberries climbing out!! lol
Many things have changed. People have changed.
But the lovely Autumn is still capable of arriving at its time, as every year, as every time. Welcome, we really wanted to see you here!!
