As I was driving around downtown, looking for a parking spot to attend Christmas Mass, it suddenly sounded like I was driving on gravel. A quick peek while stopped at an intersection revealed that I had a flat rear driver's side tire.

(19/365) Flat Stanley. Thanks to his good buddy Nolan, Alex has been playing host to Flat Stanley for the last few days. Mr. Stanley is visiting us all the way from Specht Elementary in San Antonio, TX. Alex was a gracious host, taking Flat all the way up to Amarillo to visit a Pumpkin Patch and then topping it off with a trip to open house at Wylie Intermediate. But all good things must come to an end, and Flat Stanley is heading back south tomorrow - incredibly still in one piece, tucked neatly inside an envelope with a couple of photos to help him remember his trip.

I've noticed that when I edit curves in GIMP, I try to add contrast where the histogram is thick. So this morning I implemented a "flattening the histogram" approach, where do that by brute-forcing the image to have a more-or-less flat histogram.
The image marked Linear Luminance did this to the luminance,
the one marked Linear RGB applied the concept to each channel independently.
This isn't intended to be the last processing step, but sometimes it makes a good first one.
I implemented in C++. Stupid beastly language, but it has the bindings to the only image loading library I can deal effectively with.

I've finally got my first pullip - My Melody!

Sme of the pictures, have i edited a bit. I have for Example edited the eyes in some of the pictures, so they are a bit more yellow than normally, so the focus was on her eyes. :3
Day 23 - I'm helping my niece Olivia with a project for her 1st grade class. Her class is reading the book "Flat Stanley" which is about a boy who had a bulletin board fall on top of him while he was sleeping and becomes flat. He goes on lots of adventures throughout the book. On one of his adventures he goes to visit a friend in another state. His parents don't have enough money for his plane ticket, so they put him in an envelope and send him by mail. Well, Olivia mailed me her "Flat Olivia" (paper doll cut-out), and I am tasked with taking her on an adventure of her own!
I saw a field of horses when I was driving around today...Photo op for Flat Olivia! I pull off to the side of the road to get some shots. So...I'm holding up this paper doll cut-out with one hand and the camera in the other. The owner of the property comes up behind me...he thinks I'm spray painting graffiti on his fence poles. I tell him the story and he has a laugh. I'm really glad he did not have a shot gun...
